So the day has finally come, today is my 30th BIRTHDAY! To celebrate, I've made a montage of my favourite images from what was the best decade of my life. You can see me thin, fat, thin again, hairy, smooth and how I am now (which I think is the best). You'll find me in drag, with my family, friends, celebrities, Channel 4 colleagues, two Prime Ministers, at least one porn star and I even ride a 10 foot gyrating penis :) Wow! I hope the next decade will be so eventful! (It's set to my favourite song from the year I turned 20)

After six amazing years as the Technology Correspondent for Channel 4 News, I've decided to leave to found a new start-up with +Alex Halliday and a co-founding team from around the world. It's going to disrupt an industry that has basically been left behind by technology and the social revolution so it's not another social network, photo sharing app, social commerce, daily deals, music or video service, there are lots of these already. What we're building will really change an industry for the better, cause a lot of disintermediation and save consumers and small businesses a lot of money. 

It's very exciting and I can't wait! P.S. It means I'm going to be living in London and New York, so USA watch-out!

Breaking news from PA about the Sun on Sunday

Rupert Murdoch told staff at the Sun today that he will launch a new national Sunday newspaper, the Sun on Sunday, "very soon"Mr Murdoch, who was visiting News International's Wapping headquarters, said "illegal acitivities simply cannot and will not be tolerated" but he announced that suspensions of all staff who were arrested recently over alleged corrupt payments will be lifted.

I explain to Journalism.co.uk why I'm using Facebook Subscribe and why it's taken off for me in a way that Google+ can't right now unfortunately (specifically talk about G+ just before 11 mins into the pod). Quite an interesting programme with the NYT's Liz Heron and Neal Mann of Sky News. Do you agree with me or should I be spending more time on G+?

Yo Google+ers. Remember how I spread the word about G+ when it launched? Now's the time to do something for me, please spread my 'It Gets Better' video about being gay and from a faith background and telling young people that 'gay cures' don't work. It's been shared by the top names on Facebook and Twitter on these sorts of things, so lets show everyone how much social good G+ can do!

Interesting ding dong from Microsoft and Google over privacy. What are your thoughts about Google's new single privacy policy? Will you stop using Google because of it given that there is no real change other than they can amalgamate data together? What's interesting is that this Google official blog highlights Google Dashboard, a product that I've constantly said in public debates on the issue Google should shout out about more. I'm not sure that anyone else offers something as comprehensive and it's bloody useful too for finding web links/ ads you clicked a long time ago and didn't bookmark. It was a life saver when I needed to find a taxi company I'd already used in Milton Keynes after a rock concert I unexpectedly found myself at!

Glad I happened to catch this: 20,000+ Facebook subscribers! I hope that some day I'll be able to actually facilitate that sort of number of people to achieve something good in the world! Facebook, Google+ and Twitter do have an extraordinary ability to achieve good if you can catch it and harness it at the perfect moment. Stick with me :) and do 'Like' the causes I've promoted on FB xx
