Amusing story from our sectional meeting last night:
A Canadian goose decided he didn't want to fly south for the winter. He said it was too much work, and he would be perfectly fine staying right where he was. Well, he went through fall just fine, but once the winter weather really hit he decided he should have flown south in the first place!
He gets as far as Montana before the ice on his wings forces him to make a crash landing in a farm. He's shivering there in the snow feeling sorry for himself and his lot when a cow walks up and dumps on him! Now the goose is really upset, he's going to freeze to death and he's covered in cow manure to boot!
Soon, though, he notices that he's feeling better. The manure, you see, was quite warm and quickly began to thaw him out. He began feeling so much better that he started to sing! A cat heard the singing and ... more »

Does anyone out there have an ASUS TF101 Keyboard Dock they'd be willing to let go cheap? I've been trying to find one for my tablet and it's been difficult, to say the least. I found a few on Amazon but I can't afford $100+ for one. Ebay just makes me nervous with this sort of thing, and Craigslist is even worse.
PM me, please, if you have one that you'd be willing to part with. It doesn't matter how much you want for it so long as you're willing to be reasonable and work with me!

Question for those of you who wear glasses and/or contact lenses:
I have an eye doctor appointment next week. I have been experiencing some eyestrain at the end of the day, especially after a long day of coding or writing. I wanted to get the doctor's opinion on that (maybe just a new prescription, but it feels like more than that to me), but I also wanted your opinion on this as well:
Have any of you ever used the "Computer glasses", like the ones Gunnar makes? I've heard that it changes the focus of your eyes, plus the yellow lenses subtract blue light; both of which helps to reduce eyestrain. Is this true, or just a marketing gimmick?
I've been curious about going back to contacts and purchasing a pair of Gunnar glasses. Thoughts? Is there another option I'm not thinking of?

With all this talk on gay marriage, Prop8, etc, I thought I would share my own opinion on the whole marriage issue.
The way I understand the issue is that homosexuals want the same privileges straight married couples have -- namely, the definition of "next of kin" and tax benefits. Understandable.
What I want to know is why should the government be involved in marriage in the first place? Marriage (as we understand it) began as a strictly religious institution; only through governmental meddling did it become a political cause. My solution is this: get the government out of it altogether!
Give a special tax benefit to any couple or group who shares household duties. This could be a couple with a romantic relationship, or a trio of roommates sharing rent in college. If you share household finances, you get the same tax bracket regardless of the type of r... more »
