Automating home life
If you're half as interested in home automation as I am, you might also want to get on the list for SmartThings. Looks promising...

Here it comes...
Sorry, whats the argument here? We identified and caught the Boston bomber suspects in less than a week. If anything, we have proved that we have enough surveillance resources to respond to an event like this.
Enough is enough.

Today, we’re launching a new feature that makes it easy to tell Google what you want done with your digital assets when you die or can no longer use your account. It's not a topic anybody likes thinking about, but making plans for what happens after you’re gone is really important for the people you leave behind. The feature is called Inactive Account Manager and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason. Read on for more.

This blog is hilarious. A father takes a picture of his son crying, then writes the reason he's crying in the caption.
Absolutely wonderful.

More HIV 'cured': first a baby, now 14 adults
"Two weeks after the revelation that a baby has been "cured" of HIV, reports suggest that a similar treatment can cure some adults too. Early treatment seems crucial, but does not guarantee success."

Child Care at Google I/O 2013!
At last year's Women Techmakers event, we asked what we could do to help encourage more women to attend events like Google I/O. I'm excited to announce that in response to that feedback, one of the new things you'll see at I/O this year is fully subsidized – yes, free to attendees – group child care at a location close to Moscone West. We'll be offering child care for all 3 days of the conference, for kids aged 6 weeks to 12 years old, as well as dedicated rooms onsite for nursing mothers.
If you're a parent, and you've been on the fence about whether to attend I/O this year because you have a young child or infant to care for, tell us you're interested by checking the box on child care needs when you register for Google I/O.
Registration opens March 13. For more information, see http://google.com/io
