Here it comes...

Sorry, whats the argument here? We identified and caught the Boston bomber suspects in less than a week.  If anything, we have proved that we have enough surveillance resources to respond to an event like this.

Enough is enough.

Today, we’re launching a new feature that makes it easy to tell Google what you want done with your digital assets when you die or can no longer use your account. It's not a topic anybody likes thinking about, but making plans for what happens after you’re gone is really important for the people you leave behind. The feature is called Inactive Account Manager and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason. Read on for more.

Child Care at Google I/O 2013!
At last year's Women Techmakers event, we asked what we could do to help encourage more women to attend events like Google I/O. I'm excited to announce that in response to that feedback, one of the new things you'll see at I/O this year is fully subsidized – yes, free to attendees – group child care at a location close to Moscone West.  We'll be offering child care for all 3 days of the conference, for kids aged 6 weeks to 12 years old, as well as dedicated rooms onsite for nursing mothers.

If you're a parent, and you've been on the fence about whether to attend I/O this year because you have a young child or infant to care for, tell us you're interested by checking the box on child care needs when you register for Google I/O.

Registration opens March 13. For more information, see http://google.com/io I ho... more »

Hi +Nest.  Is it possible to set an "away" time on the schedule?  It would be nice to not have to set it manually when leaving the house every morning (especially with hands full of baby stuff).  :)

Auto away is great, but it adds time before it activates.  I'm looking for a way to say: I leave the house at 8 every morning, go "away" at that time.

Thanks!

Seeking Glass Explorers: goo.gl/PbKWr

Last year we showed Glass to the world for the first time - we jumped out of airships, crashed New York Fashion Week and even took a ride on the subway. It’s been an exhilarating journey so far and there’s a lot more to come, but we can’t go it alone. We’re developing new technology that is designed to be unobtrusive and liberating, and so far we’ve only scratched the surface of the true potential of Glass.

Now we want you to get involved and that’s why today we’re expanding our Glass Explorer Program. We’re looking for bold, creative individuals who want to join us and be a part of shaping the future of Glass. Glass is still in the early stages, so we expect there will be some twists and turns along the way. While we can’t promise everything will be perfect, we can promise it will be exciting.

We’d love tomake everyone a Glas... more »

I'm so proud of this team, and especially one of my closest friends, +Scott McCloskey for this incredible accomplishment of drilling on Mars. What's immediately so cool about this is that you can see the rock is grey on the inside and not the reddish-brown we typically associate with Mars. That's because the interior hasn't been weathered in the same way as the outside. And that's exactly what we're hoping for - to get this sample that hasn't been damaged over the years into the rover for analysis. Who knows what we'll find, but this is absolutely huge. Can't wait to see what it is!

At age 62, albatross hatches a chick

"The world's oldest-known wild bird -- a 62-year-old albatross on Midway Atoll in the Pacific Ocean -- is also a new mother.

The bird, a Laysan albatross whom biologists have named Wisdom, hatched a chick this week, her sixth in the past six years.

"If she were human, she would be eligible for Medicare in a couple of years, yet she is still regularly raising young and annually circumnavigating the Pacific Ocean," said Bruce Peterjohn, chief of the North American bird banding program at the U.S. Geological Survey. "Simply incredible."

If you're in the market for a new phone on T-Mobile, this is the one you want.  I'd recommend the 16GB version, as my current phone uses about 10GB with apps, photos, videos, etc.  The extra space seems worth the 50 bucks.
