It's still quiet around me, I'm sorry for that.
My engagement with the #Pirates  of Dresden ist taking its toll as it needs lots of time and forced me to concentrate on Twitter (@UniversalistDD if you're interested).

So what am I doing there besides tweeting?
For example I found new usage for my EOS 600D and the 30mm f/1.4.
How do you like it, what do you think about the video quality?

I remember a recent discussion where I mentioned that ~20$ would seem like a fair price for Facebook shares. Just so you know: I'd also not buy today. Why? I think they are not effecively using their money.

Look out for Swifts
Swifts are quite curious and not very shy (it's not unusual that they get as as close as 1m, given you are in the right altitude).
Difficulties in portraying them lie in their speed, small size and (most often) the backlight from the sky. This means that most shots are wasted, but I think this one looks particularly nice :)

Common Swifts (Apus apus) are a quite remarkable birds.
They can reach top speeds above 125mph and it's said that that they are that much adapted to life in the air that they actually stay in the air for months (while not breeding).

Are you prepared for MD5Gate?
I reckon Microsoft (and various other companies, not just last.fm and LinkedIn) were using MD5 for security.
I am convinced that more companies and projects will get compromised this way in the near future! 

Amsterdam scientists recently figured out that there might be an even more sophisticated and easy way to produce MD5 hash collisions for certificates than with those methods already known to the public.

It's not the problem that there is a new method, the problem is that MD5 is still used in security!
In case you don't know: MD5 was proven unsafe years ago!

This is a call for action:
If you are a programmer: Check your code!
If you are a corporate executive: Have your programmers check your code!
If you are a customer: Demand safety!

Christopher Street Day in Dresden
I went there by bicycle, with all my favourite lenses in my backpack. Light was good, people were happy and colourful, everything was perfect.
There was just one shortcoming: I took an empty backup battery with me and had to stop shooting right in the middle. #Dohhh!

5 Maßnahmen zur Reform des Urheber- und Verwertungsrechts.
1. Schutzfristen verkürzen.
2. Opt-in für zu schützende Werke.
3. Verwertungsrechte an Werken fallen nach 2 Jahren automatisch an Urheber zurück.
