Real Food and the Amish
I was reading an article yesterday about autism rates in the Amish. The article suggested that because the Amish don't vaccinate, and they don't have autism that there's a correlation.
I don't think autism is directly connected to vaccinations, but it got me thinking.
The Amish are traditionally healthy people. They don't have the chronic health problems that we non-Amish have like diabetes, heart disease, celiac and yes, even autism.
The difference is that they eat real food. The grow their own produce, raise their own animals and produce their own dairy. The cook everything from scratch and they work hard, getting plenty of exercise.
They aren't eating processed foods. They don't eat GMO's. and I'm guessing that the seeds they use probably go back several generations.
