My potrait album.  This album has my youngest daughter, Kim who is 16 and my youngest son, Konnor who is 8.  I also borrowed two of my neighbors to pose, Mia and Michael.   I am still not really comfortable photographing people but I love how the shots of my daughter turned out.

Ok,  I decided to try an assignment from +Jake Johnson this week.  Yes, call me crazy.  

My tag line on my G+ profile is "this is what happens when you stop saying someday" and he gave me the assignment to show " how you are currently seizing the day in one photograph"

Not sure if this shows "seizing" the day but I am now living my life for me, in the now, instead of the "someday".  I spent the first 45+ years of my life wanting to live at the shore and to become more a snapshot photographer.  So last year I moved from the mountains of Pennsylvania to the eastern Shore (Ocean City) Maryland, joined G+ and started to learn how to take and process photo art instead of just snapshots.

I have 7 children and 4 grandchildren that I love more then life itself.  This album inlcudes 3 of my grandchildren and my 2 youngest children.  

I don't normally photograph people so this was new to me and I tried some different  edits this week too.

I had an hour to kill and a McDonalds cup full of ice while sitting in my car this afternoon.  All these were taken from the front seat of my little jeep.

#huntlove    I am celebrating my 1 year anniversary as part of the hunt.  Joined for March 2012.  I have grown so much as a photographer since the first hunt.   

I have made the most incredible friends because of the hunt. People like +Chris Davies  that I can't imagine not being part of my life now!

This was my entry into that hunt for "GREEN FOOD" that earned me an honorable mention and pushed me to go further, learn more and give myself the right to be more then "just a frustrated stay at home mom who only snapped pics of her kids"

Because of the hunt I have now been published in magazines, newspapers and I am a finalist for a national calendar.

New Photo Challenge: The Treasure Hunt –– March 2013

It's time to start announcing the third Treasure Hunt Challenge.

It's easy, it's exciting and it's fun, take our word for it. We do one challenge every month and each will consist of four rounds, one every week, the last being the final. Sounds intriguing? 

Some of you already know the challenge but for new contestants it might be of interest to know more.

We will provide you with various photographic tasks and it's up to you to take a creative shot in order to make it to the next round. You have one week to complete each round and if you manage to complete three rounds in a row, you're in the final round and have a chance to win the whole thing. Did my good deed. While taking Kimmy to PT yesterday we came across this monster sitting in the middle of the road. I stopped the car and "helped" him get across. He only snapped at me a couple of times - and yes I jumped :)

Need some help/advice.  I went from a Canon powershot to a Nikon D3100.  I loved my Canon with it's built in zoom.  I want to be able to shoot the same distance and further with my Nikon.  I just don't understand the "lingo" and don't know what lens I should be shopping (saving) for.  Anyone out there have a "FOR DUMMIES" explanation on what to shop for?   THANKS!!
