The European Stonechat (Saxicola rubicola) is a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a subspecies of the Common Stonechat. Long considered a member of the thrush family Turdidae, genetic evidence has placed it and its relatives in the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae.

I had a great morning at the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center (Plano, Texas) today. It was exciting to get so close to so many awesome birds of prey. Although I do not think I was as interesting to this Eastern (Grey Phase) Screech Owl as he was to me!

الاسم العلمي:(Oenanthe Isabellina)، المدقي: يقال ان تسمية الطائر بـ (المدقي) نسبة إلى طريقة دقة باستمرار بمنقاره الرفيع المدبب على الأرض للحصول على غذاءه.
طائر مهاجر شتوى وعابر في الربيع والصيف، يتواجد في المناطق شبه الصحراوية بين الأشجار والشجيرات، والمناطق المفتوحة الزراعية والمنتزهات، والمناطق الصخرية، وقرب الأماكن المهجورة، وأماكن تجمع القمامة.

Barred Dove

The Barred Dove, (Geopelia maugei) is a small dove which is native and endemic to the Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia. It is closely related to the Zebra Dove of southeast Asia and the Peaceful Dove of Australia and New Guinea.
It inhabits scrub, cultivated land and woodland edges in lowland areas. The Barred Dove is found on Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba, Timor, the Tanimbar Islands, the Kei Islands and other smaller islands.
The Barred Dove is similar to the Zebra Dove in appearance but has bare yellow skin around the eye and black-and-white barring which extends right across the breast and belly.
