French minister calls Amazon a book-dumping, bookstore-destroying monopoly.
Uh, yeah, everybody already knew that. But French Minister for Culture and Communication Aurelie Filippetti also claimed that Amazon "slashes prices to get a foothold in markets only to raise them once they have established a virtual monopoly."
While I always suspected that might be the plan (after all, why else would you sell books below cost?), I am unaware that this has actually happened.
Can anyone point to a case in which Amazon has exploited the elimination of competitors by raising prices?

A recent report by Global Web Index has revealed that +Google+ has now surpassed Twitter in active users!
If anyone has yet to see the value in Google+ as a platform to build an audience for their business or brand, they seriously need to re-think some things.

If #EA isn't going to support my #WiiU , as a consumer I'm not going to support EA on any platform: console, handheld, mobile, or PC. So if #Nintendo turns it around in a year like they did with #3DS and EA starts shoveling their half-assed ports to the platform, I'll save my money for games from publishers who support Nintendo like #Sega , #Ubisoft , and #Capcom .

Health experts find little benefit to sharply curtailing the consumption of salt
"'As you go below the 2,300 mark, there is an absence of data in terms of benefit and there begin to be suggestions in subgroup populations about potential harms," said Dr. Brian L. Strom, chairman of the committee and a professor of public health at the University of Pennsylvania. He explained that the possible harms included increased rates of heart attacks and an increased risk of death."

Has Facebook Home already failed?
Is +Andrew Leonard right? Is Facebook Home an "unmitigated disaster"?
He writes in Salon: "For confirmation we need only look at the Google Play store, where the Facebook Home app, which can be installed on select Android phones, has now fallen to the No. 338 ranking in the category of free apps. That’s 200 spots lower than it ranked just two weeks ago. Even worse: More than half of Facebook Home’s 15,000 user reviews give the app just one star."
Should we give Zuck a chance? Or is it already time to call this another Facebook fail?
