It would be great to no longer depend on Microsoft's Office Suite for creating and editing documents.  Make this happen, and make it highly functional and I will unistall Office right now.

Sheets in Drive, now with comment-only access

You can now give people comment-only access to your spreadsheets, just like you can with Google Docs and Slides. This is useful when you’re looking for feedback on a spreadsheet and would like to review comments from others before actually making any changes.

See how commenting works (http://goo.gl/HWX4l) and give the setting a try the next time you share a spreadsheet. Don't see it yet? Hang tight -- we're rolling it out over the next week.

I want to thank everyone who took an interest in Writer's StoryBoards and especially those who supported the project with a pledge. Unfortunately, the campaign has come to an end and we did not reach our goal.

As my way of saying thank you to my backers, for a limited time you can purchase the prototype of Writer's StoryBoards at my cost ($19.99 + shipping). They can be purchased at
https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/writer-s-storyboards.

The prototype will only be available for purchase May 1 - June 31, 2013.

My sincerest thanks to all of you!

If you've set up Google Drive offline, you can now create and edit drawings offline. In addition, all of your Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides will now be automatically available offline (space permitting), so you won't have to worry about remembering that specific file before catching your flight!

It may take a few days to see these changes as we complete the rollout. If you haven’t used offline yet, give it a try today: http://goo.gl/4BgYa

HOW TO MAKE A BABY

A seven picture guide on how to make a baby? Don’t worry, this photo gallery is one hundred percent safe for work and it cant be shared with everyone.

The perks of dating a photographer include having lots of amazing photos and interesting moments captured on camera, but for Sandra Denis it got even better. When Quebec-based photo artist Patrice Laroche learned she’s pregnant with his child, he wanted to do find a special way to illustrate the next nine months and make them unforgettable. The soon-to-be parents took pictures every couple of months with Laroche pretending to inflate future mom’s belly using the gas station air pressurizer. As time passes and seasons change, Sandra’s belly grows bigger and bigger until there’s a huge explosion.

The last two photos show the proud father grabbing the baby and finally, the couple kissing whileholding t... more »

If your looking for a great tool to root your LG Nexus 4, then this is the toolkit you should use.  Pretty straight forward with directions and link to a video that walks you through the entire process.  Afterwards head to http://get.cm/  select MAKO and download CyanogenMod 10.1 for your device.  You can use the toolkit to flash it as well.

I have already found the TWRP recovery mode it installs very helpful after trying to install an app I once used before.  It created a boot loop, but no need to panic as long as you created a backup.

What I learned about mobile in China

In China I met several entrepreneurs and others at the Bluetooth World conference there. China has a very different mobile culture, so thought I'd share what I learned here:

1. Facebook and Twitter and many other sites don't work. Neither do their mobile apps. Yes, you can use a VPN or a proxy server, but most sites are very slow compared to when I use those sites in the US. (The government blocks those sites. Most of the entrepreneurs I talked with said the government does that to protect local businesses and their own pocketbooks).

2. Almost every high-end user had an iPhone. Others had Android. I never saw Windows Phone or Blackberry's being used. Android is coming on strong, everyone admits.

3. Every iPhone was jailbroken. Why? Because using the Apple App Store is painful at best and totally unusable at... more »

#Android #Jelly-Bean with an external Wi-Fi antenna

Other than an external Wi-Fi antenna, the device also boasts 2 GB of RAM and a Rockchip RK3066 dual-core processor. All told, you can purchase this little Android TV stick for about $70 via Geekbuying. Besides the above-mentioned features, the device offers users a USB port for easily hooking a keyboard and mouse, along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

You may not agree, but I think Dune is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.  I enjoyed it so much that I ended up reading all the books by Frank Herbert.  I also recall a short series on Sy-fi channel where they played Children of Dune.  I was locked in from begining to end.  Different somewhat from the books, but the general idea was there.  The original Dune should be remade with today's movie technology.  I would be one of the first people there to see it.

Even if you’re a fan of animated gifs—say you were the first to email your friends the slow loris very slowly eating a rice ball (goo.gl/KDDX1)—you may not know that the origins of animation go as far back as 1879 and Eadweard Muybridge’s “zoopraxiscope” (see our doodle homage to Muybridge: goo.gl/PGQW3). Gifs have been around since 1987 and have become the de facto standard for short animations on the web, from pony glitter text (goo.gl/iZoEZ) to grumpy cat memes (goo.gl/bC9um).

Starting today, there’s an easier way to unearth those gems: when you do an image search, click on “Search tools” below the search box, then select “Animated” under the “Any type” dropdown box.

We’ve also added a second handy filter: if you’re after the perfect picture of Easter basket clipart (goo.gl/XutAa) but must have one with a transparent background, simply select“Transparent” under the “Any ... more »
