I wrote this song today after a few discussions I've had with close friends.  The lyrics may not make it evident but the song is about returning to the familiar, even if it's in a den of pain.

Sometimes we go back to someone who's hurt us, time and time again, because it's familiar.  We allow hurt to reappear or even invite it back because we're used to it.  We know those dark places and feel oddly comfortable remaining complacent in the dark.

"Rain Shine" - Les Paul jam session

I recorded the rhythm track in my looper pedal over the weekend just to have something to practice jamming to. This is what it turned into by Monday. This was just for practicing lead, but it has the makings of a song. A Gibson Gary Moore signature Les Paul was used on both tracks. On the lead track, the Les Paul's pickup selector switch was set in the middle (both pickups). The bridge tone pot was set all the way up and the neck tone pot was turned all the way down. This provides a very creamy sound when you play through an over-driven amp. The rhythm track had the bridge pickup selected with the tone set all the way up (brightest setting).
