Who Moved My Cheese?
Google+ is really my hometown. Much more than any place I've ever lived in my life. It's where I met my dearest friends. Where I found you G+niuses. It's where I first felt seen. Where my voice was heard. Where my dreams come true. 

So, when this bold new redesign hit, at first it felt a little like someone had snuck into my hometown and rearranged the buildings and went all "Inception" on main street overnight!

Like, someone please tell me what's going on with Hangouts not only being Hangouts! Eek!

BOOM SHAKA LAKA
In follow up to my "writing keynotes phases 1-3" post a few hours ago!

PHASE 4 : THE FLOW
So after the long-hand note taking. The watching inspiring people. The bugging those inspiring people so they call you back (love me some +Jason Silva). I finally hit the best part. The total flow moment. Like a universal download. My fingers could barely keep up. :)

My brother +Sage Musk is a brilliant writer and I often say he's like a Swiss watch maker when he works. Tinkering, winding the gears, fine-tuning each sentence with precision. On the other hand I'm like a crazy person with a big net or a lightning rod, I've learned how to make the storms come and when they do I open my arms and try to catch it! Then I stand back and go, "Wow, where did that come from?"

WRITING
Before songs I was writing "I'm pondering the universe and my place in it" little kid poems, then music zapped into my life like wild wonderful lightning that I catch as it courses through my body, shocking me (delightfully) every time.

Now I also write talks and I'm prepping a new biggie right now. Of course I'll pepper it with melodies breaking into song like a Disney character, that keeps me grounded in what I know best.

WRITING KEYNOTES, PHASES 1 - 3
1. Comb through my notes. Note to self: Stop writing long-hand! Who does that!? 2. If you want to inspire, get inspired. Watch some TED Talks. Watch friends giving TED Talks and killer Keynotes. Call those friends and bug them. 3. Crumple, doodle, refill vegan hot cocoa, and type. XO, Daria

Hey G+niuses, it's so time for shared circles to be a big thing again!

Discovery is one of the most exciting parts of life, finding a melody hanging in the air and turning into a new song... finding a great new show on Netflix and going on a bender watching every episode... Finding a new food that's crazy delicious and then finding out it's good for you (yams where have you been all my life?!)....

But finding new people to love is just about the best discovery ever. 

A while ago I made a circle of G+RLS who were new friends, mentors and G+niuses here. I just saw that +Eli Fennell ran with it and added more amazing ladies bringing the total up to 101! So lean in to add this fabulously fierce and feminine circle!

Let's do a round of nice-to-meet-you-Monday! What do your hands say about you?

There was a time when it was a point of pride to have perfectly manicured, practically unused hands. Ladies and gentlemen wore gloves and commoners got their hands dirty. Well that was a long time ago and I think it's amazing when you're hands tell a story about who you are!

I'm super-proud of my guitar player hands, they're tiny so I worked hard for every little callus and stretch and finger-picking nail. :)

Loved the Roundtable Hangout hosted by +Future of StoryTelling yesterday! I'll repost with my favorite moments tagged in the morning, but had to share this fab insight and hilarious "no-coincidences" fashion moment ;)

Toward the end of the roundtable conversation with our favorite G+ big sister +Natalie Villalobos, +The LittleBigFund founder +Carter Gibson, FOST fearless leader +Charles Melcher & the super-cool +Paul Raksit of +The GRAMMYs we started talking about being the hero of your own story, and as Natalie so-awesomely put it, "writing your own legend".

As a singer and a songwriter, I'm always fascinated by all the different kinds of love in this lil world of ours. Sometimes they go unsung.

Of course there's romantic "hey hottstuff" love. ;) But there's also friendship love. Familial love. Love of creating something. Love of a dream, a goal. The love you feel when baby animals sneeze. This global love we've discovered here together, that's a biG+ love. ❤

Love is supreme. So let's hope the court sees that too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAM
I sing by his side and rock over his bass-lines. I've got his back and he's got mine. I'm instructed by his greatness, inspired by his genius, he's the one I'm guided by. We pull songs out of thin air like magic, I am his "sorcerer's apprentice". We belly-laugh backstage, butt heads like rams when we disagree and bear-hug-it-out along the way. I find the words and melodies as he weaves symphonies. Sometimes I cry on his broad shoulders as sometimes I stand tall on them, because from that height, if I reach with all my might, my fingertips can touch the stars. 

I think being a mentor is a beautiful lost art. A sacred relationship that helps to shape your life, your work and who you are. +RAM Rich, I don't know what you saw in this crazy kid or why you put up with me for so long. ;) But I'm so grateful that you did.... more »

CLEAN WATER FOR ALL
Let's raise a glass to that.

Today is #WorldWaterDay ! Imagining yourself in someone else's shoes, or in this case, taking a sip from their glass can instantly make their story real and their heart connected to yours.

Today I tried to make myself a glass of water like the murky stuff too many people have to drink, but it's "spring" here in New England and there's still snow on the ground! So here's me with my "spring melt shake" and a bottle of the clean stuff. If we've got a choice to help make clean available to all, then the choice is clear... as clear as the water we love.

Visit the +charity: water website to give to the cause and also get some super-conscious and cool swag to wear your water-lovin' heart on your sleeve!

Really cute new Hangout app by the +Google+ team! Now we've all got an official way to grab photos in Hangouts and they all get sent to a shared album in real time! This is what it looks like inside the Hangout. See the photo reel? :)

If you could see the album from this Hangout I just joined you'd see +Dolidh Young baby bump, +Moritz Tolxdorff showing off his new Irish Pride, +Cam Meadows sans cowboy hat and +Rob Michael's new beard! ;)

Dave Grohl is a god, and this is gospel.

First I was too young to get Nirvana, I wasn't even close to being a teen for "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Then the 8th grade boys with a band that rehearsed in a basement across town who played the Foo Fighters wouldn't let me join the group. So, I begged for a baby blue Fender Strat and at 13-years-old I built my calluses playing Police songs and Joni Mitchell, and Dave Matthews and Green Day. 

Now, finally after watching and adoring Dave's directorial debut, "Sound City" and devouring this +SXSW Keynote speech, I am officially a Grohl-disciple and have never been more proud to be another "kid left to their own devices" playing for hours and hours in my bedroom, multi-tracking my feelings, writing my own songs, making my own posters, booking my own shows, creating my own littlep... more »

Howdy!
It's SXSW! Time to (virturally) kick up my cowboy boots and say "Yeehaw!"

I have so many amazing memories from Austin this time last year, from the chorus of G+niuses singing "Happy Birthday" to me at midnight, to brunch with heroes like +Ron Garan, +Trey Ratcliff & +Vic Gundotra, to rocking out on a bunch of stages and dancing in the rain!

This time I'm trading in the Texas sunshine for snowy studio nights and new songs coming to life that I cannot wait to unveil. I will still be there in spirit talkin' on some panels and singing all through the magic of Hangouts. ;) 

If you're in planes, trains and automobiles making your way to the crazy never-ending gig that is SXSW right now... Safe travels! I'm with ya'll in spirit!

HI, MY NAME IS...
Well hello new profile pages! I woke up yesterday and discovered the world had changed while I snoozed! Oh +Google+, I love when you keep me on my toes!

To celebrate the ginormous new cover photos I've topped off my new profile page with this gorgeous +Vivienne Gucwa shot. When I look at it I can feel the wind whipping my hair back and sending my notes floating up through the skyscrapers.

One little thought, if the Google+ Profile Gods are listening out there... I think the new set up is pretty slick, but my heart is aching for one thing... Taglines!

Sorry for a couple days of radio silence! Wonky nyc hotel wifi, back-to-back events and pavement pounding ate up my posting time. But I'm here and so ready to rock! ;)

MARCH-ING IN...
This month is gonna be a biggie! Everyone in my family has their birthdays (my bday is on the 10th!), and there will be some exciting updates about music, recording, hangouts, adventures and more. 

I've got pics and video from the my Inside The Actor's Studio-style interview and teaching gig at Parsons School of Design ("Make it work!"), hanging with +Carter Gibson here in the big apple, crashing +HuffPost Live with +Tim McDonald and so much more.
