Jeff Smith62,118Welcome to The Selfy Sunday Project for April 7/13. *Theme*: *True Colors* What we are looking for is a dominant color element in your Selfy. Jeff Smith62,118Welcome to The Selfy Sunday Project for *December 2/12* _PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOT FOR THIS SUNDAY, NOV. 25/12._ Theme: *Bond, James Bond!* I want to see Selfy's that are inspired by *007* and the James Bond films. Lots exotic locations, action packed chases as well as numerous villains and sexy leading ladies to offer inspiration here. Or just stick to a more general "SPY" or cloak and dagger noire theme. Either way it should be fun. _Props may come in handy here!_ ________________________________ The Halloween SSP was the scariest, most ghoulish, terrifying Selfy Sunday ever. Wow, I am in a negative space lately.
Today? What is it with this disposable society I live in?
Tech, in particular.

I have a 3-year-old tablet. The screen on this thing is gorgeous, it's clear, it was actually better than the first round of iPad tablets, it's small and fits my hands better, etc. But it doesn't update any longer on its OS and now my lovely, older Android is starting to fail. I can't update the games I play, because they are now set up for a much more recent version of OS. And just this past weekend, even my banking app started fussing.
I do not want a new tablet. I want my current one to update better.
But the reality is that it can not. It doesn't have that capability.

Three years? That's all I get for this thing? My last phone kept going (with a motherboard upgrade) for nearly 4 years and when it finally gave out, I got the... more »

I'm not a Viking.
Yes, I am a new Swede, but I am not a Viking. I can't take this cold.
So I happily sit in my couch fortress and work like crazy (9 days in a row so far, I'm exhausted! but it's not finished) rather than leave my warm spot and brave those negative degrees.

We have the Pocket Viking tonight - and the Bearded Guy has a plan to take the little guy on his pulka to the park and have some fun pulling him around on the snow/ice tomorrow.
Yeah. You can find me right here with my hot chocolate and my fingers going crazy on the typing. There's work to be done!

The photo is what my nails SHOULD look like - they have been neglected with all the work lately.... this shot is from 2013 and is a technique I want to do again. Maybe in different colors.

On a brighter note, however - my clients can be such fun. I have one in... more »

Truck arrived, boxes and items inside. The Bearded Guy finished and has made his first train on a journey which sees him arrive tomorrow. With a little luck, a few things can be completed before he arrives.

Goodmorneve and Tylenol, Giggleplus!
I moved very little, the movers and our new housemate did the work.
So why is watching and directing so tiring?

And wake up in Berlin.

A load of items for donation has been picked up.
I count two more loads of laundry, then I am done.
Done? I hope so!
Lovely Mommy has installed our sofa in her place - my couch fortress has officially changed hands.  :)

And my mover,   +Xpress Flytt  - called this morning with information for tomorrow's move. Love these guys! I should count how many emails we have had back and forth, and every time, they are so positive about everything to be done.
Same with this morning's call - very positive.
With all the moving insanity, these guys have been a bit of calm. Thank you!

There was snow in southern Sweden this morning, so the Bearded Guy is delayed a little on his return. A bit close to May for snow, don't ya think? I'd rather they do as they did - stop and wait it out. So a little delay on getting him back here for the actual movetomo... more »

Me? On a train in the morning, on a plane in the afternoon, and then I will be in Berlin for dinner!
Which means I will also be in Berlin for the arrival of the moving truck.  :)

And for +Addis G, since you know our creatures very well:
Our new housemates have very kindly agreed to take care of our animals today until I can get there tomorrow - their youngster has sat with them and is making friends - M really likes the little guy, G is still skittish, as expected. That is a huge relief for these last couple of days.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
I think there is only the final box of water kettle and toiletries and medicines to be packed.
I think.
How much do you do yourself, and how much do you delegate to the other members of your family?

Waiting for +John Thelin to make it home for one last look around here, one last go through the place, one last couple of days of "finishing". ___

The Art Mile is open.
And the Bearded Guy is there.

Berlin, I do hope you are warmer than Sweden this morning. I just latched every window here since I woke up freeeeeeeezing.

Here's to a warm day at the Art Mile and buyers interested in canvasses.

Yup, Giggleplus, this is the Bearded Guy Who (no longer) Lives At My House - he's already in Berlin!
I'll be there Tuesday, when the movers come.  :)

Selling my small canvases (or at least attempting to) at the Fehrbelliner Platz art flea market. In Berlin, that is. ___The Art Mile is open.

Kitchen table and stools - delivered elsewhere.
Couch and coffee table - delivered elsewhere.
Pocket Viking's things - delivered elsewhere.

it's starting to look like we're actually moving out of here.
Just a bit more work tomorrow and then Monday, the church charity shop will come and collect the items I have for them and Tuesday is the movers.

As slow going as it has been, the end is in sight.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
Typing is echoing in this living room... it's an odd sound now.

Miss A will be here soon, we hope to have all the pieces ready for tomorrow's pickup - Lovely Mommy is taking the couch, coffee table, kitchen table, kitchen stools and the rest of the Pocket Viking's toys.

That will empty the place a bit!

In order to move things like this, however, some other things must leave the hallway. So we're back to the jigsaw puzzle of "that table into the office, that box into the kitchen, these pieces out the door, table from the office into the bedroom, then that piece out the door..."

It's been quite the party.
And we are not yet finished.

Husband and animals have arrived at the new home in Berlin!
That is a relief, considering all the tension of the trip - the animals took it fairly well, the humans were so very concerned.
Whew!

Now I have more to do.

Proofing.
Proof-reading is required, so that's my work for today.
There is also more stuff to be done around this place for the move, and Miss A will be joining me later, Mr C will come this evening. Not sure I could handle this without the help.

But - one room nearly complete. Cleaned, boxes for the charity are being stacked (pick up on Monday), and more items will go into there as they are ready.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
When you have traveled with pets, do they travel not-so-well, or is it the humans in extra-stress time?

The Bearded Guy and the animals are in the car... mom-in-law is driving. Their trip has begun.

I have a few days to finish a little sorting, load up a bunch of junk for the dump run with a friend, box up things for charity and get my last items into suitcases.

This next week is going to be odd. No husband, no pets.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Still plenty to do before the movers come, and friends who have offered - all I need do is call. I have promised that I will call when it's too much for me.
Moving - how often in your life have you moved? From just across the street, to across an ocean, I can count 12 moves without thinking too hard about it.
Edited - make that 15. I just recounted.

Packing.
Does it end?

I suppose it ends when the moving truck comes, right?
hahahahhaha

For various reasons, the Bearded Guy leaves tomorrow with animals. There will be a week here of me and a few on-call friends to clear as much as we can... then he will return for the moving truck. Whew!

Our housemates have agreed to feed the animals that morning, but then I will be on a plane to join them in the afternoon. So glad the plane ride is short! It'll take longer to get from here to the airport than it will for the plane trip.

I'm doing a lot of laughing. It's a lot more fun than yelling. Though there has been a good deal of that too. Primal screams can be helpful.

Goodmorneve and yes I will have a little more coffee, thank you very much, Giggleplus!

Booked the Bearded Guy's move last night. He's going early with the animals for half a dozen reasons.
There are animal cabins on some of the ferries - you don't have to leave them in the car. He chose one of those. And overnight, so his Mom (she's driving) can get some sleep and break up the trip.

In the meantime, we're closing in on finishing this. What's going with us is fairly settled now. It's a matter of getting the last few big pieces into that one room (staging area), then the items for the dump into an area where they can be easily grabbed and removed, and then the items that will go to the church second-hand in yet another area for their pickup day.

He is five days from leaving, I am ten days. It's coming up. Some of the paperwork is falling into place, other pieces are still in waiting.

Got a friend coming over to help with the sorting of the clothes. Standing and choosing just isn't in the cards for me right now, so she has agreed to assist. Yay!
How much help do you require for moving? Just a few hands for the actual move, or several dozen friends on different days to assist with all the little details?___

Details and details.

Work, payments, scheduling movers (and shakers!), sorting, packing, trashing... along with everyone's paperwork.

Which route to take with the animals? Overnight at a hotel, or on a ferry? What about sleeping on arrival, especially if mom-in-law is to stay a few extra days? Which hotel or hostel to put her into? Schedule now, or wait until we know other details?

Left up to me completely, all this would have been finished. But it's not always up to me.
Since it's not up to me, I gotta let go of the stress. You didn't finish on time? That's on you. You don't answer me promptly? I can't help you.

And while I get it that companies need things in a hurry - you gotta expect to pay for the privilege. I'm sorry that telling you the price for weekend work made you cringe.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
I'm going to just leave this here and read a little more. I have work to be done and a home to prepare - we get the Pocket Viking in a couple of hours!
But yeah, the world has tried and failed. I'm still standing. And with a little help from medication (we hope!), I'll kick this too.

One more possible diagnosis.
This one comes with medications. And further testing.

This should be fun - along with the move. yay.
I do hope the cross-border medical fun doesn't take long.

Part of the work is done and delivered, there is of course more work to do behind that one! And some boxes waiting for tape. And some cubbies waiting to be emptied.

Oy, there's lots to do yet.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
No question today, just a ramble of thoughts.

Signed, sealed, delivered ...
Now we wait for the return items. The return items are important to the move as well.

Moving between countries is filled with paperwork!

Whew. That part is done. Well, almost. Still need to file one more thing so the mail will forward for a few months, while I sort out the last few folks who don't yet have the new address.

Work to be done, a hangout with grandchildren scheduled for later. Yay!!!

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
When you are a typist at your job, and you notice that the errors are piling up, is that when you walk away for a break, or do you take a break every hour on the hour?

I wait until the errors are piling up or I can't see the screen or need a drink.

Signatures in place - envelopes ready for the mail.
Final paperwork going off my desk as fast as possible. I want to box this stuff up and forget about it!
... something about business and keeping the bills paid and needing to file and that's the reason this stuff is still in my way. Meh.

More boxes taped shut.

And in the meantime - more work! Yay! A new project, a continued project, and an editing project. So happy.

Little by little, things get boxed up. But I am not thrilled about the slow pace of getting things out of here to new homes. Some of it is that we have to schedule a vehicle (run to the dump) and some of it is scheduling with the people to whom these items will go. There is no real rush as yet, it's my impatience taking over!

Not enough packing done.
But most of the paperwork is finished, just a few signatures and details on those.

Finally got my hair washed. We will not be discussing how long I have been unable to do it. We shall only be grateful that it is now done.

Hungry ... but only a little. Busy ... but only a little. Pain ... but only a little.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
How far in advance do you know what's to eat? Are you a weekly menu planner, or just when the hunger pangs start?
(I'm ready to eat, but I don't know what to eat. Of course there is nothing worth eating in the house. hahaha)

My d-i-l posted a shot of two grandbabies. Little D and Little J - they are the two that share a birthday.

Many thanks to +LD Williams  for assisting me - I could not get this photo pulled to save my life yesterday. Forgot everything I ever knew. LD to the rescue! Thank you, Sir!

I asked if Little D was teething, as his fingers are in his mouth, but my son said it's a nervous thing.
How are you nervous at this age? Just because a camera was pointed in your face?
Awww, Little D - just hug up Mommy and Daddy - Mormor will come see you as soon as she can.

Two of my grandkids... number 9 arrives in July.
Do you have grandkids? Do you see them often?
I get mine on hangouts now and then - and when I travel back to visit.  :)

Okay, Giggleplus!

The Bearded Guy Who Lives At My House is at it again.
He's doing podcasts - mixes of music, tidbits of info, and I will admit to actually liking some of this.

This is his latest - and I believe you can go to his Mixcloud to catch up if this appeals to you.

Presenting - my husband and his podcast.

Hello, Sunday!
Happily, got one file out of here last night. That will allow for some packing today, assuming this current pain lets up a little. Meh. Bored with the pain!

Found a photo online of two little grandkids, but am having difficulties getting it where I can share it. Maybe that site made changes where I can't just download anything - or maybe DIL locked it? Ah, will have to ask her.

Coffee? Yes, again. But it tastes funny today. Could be the water, though I fear it's me getting a cold which I do not have time for, thank you very much. There is packing to do. And sorting. And while, yes, I could ask for help with the packing part, I really have to do the sorting part on my own. Brutal sorting. As in - didn't look at it for three years?, throw it out!. Yuck.

Time to deflate the pilates ball and put it in a box with the footpump. No, I haven't used it in a while, the Pocket Viking has been playing with it. But it needs to go with me, I need to use it.
What things do you keep because you know you will need them? As opposed to re-purchasing when the time comes that you can use it again?___

Berlin soon enough. And a bike. I tried riding a few years ago and that was a an epic fail. It seems that while you may never forget how to ride, you may indeed forget how to learn to ride.

So I talked to our soon-to-be-housemate and he has an extra bike in the basement. How about some training wheels?

Did you know they make training wheels for adult bikes? Really! I may yet be able to get around. Biking doesn't hurt as much as walking, since I'm not putting all this extra weight on hips and legs and knees - though I can't go far, I'm sure.

Still - maybe movement.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
I managed some paperwork and coffee, but nothing else. It's just not my day to do anything.
Maybe one more night of sleep. :)

Ten vials of blood.
When I got home, enough coffee to refill what they took out. Haha! Then the work started - cleared another cubbyhole and 3 boxes are now standing open, waiting for their final bits to go in prior to taping them shut.

Packing is moving along, but when there is so much stuff, it goes slowly. I've rescheduled my self-imposed deadline in order not to stress too much.

In all of this, there is still regular paperwork to be done. The joy of doing business paperwork. And trying to keep track of all the bits and pieces.
That will be the last box before I turn off the computer for the move - the final paperwork before leaving.

Broken fingernails, a table in pieces (we beat the beast!), a bit of sleep and start all over again.

Later today, some of this stuff will go to the dump.
We have scheduled a local group to come pick up some other items.
We know that some pieces will go to Lovely Mommy and the kids for their place.
Still waiting on the final decision regarding transporting the animals, but there's one more possibility before we take the last step there.

I can go and move a few more things in the office, pack up the last(?) of the previous year required books and extra binders, and maybe make final decisions on the last bookshelf in the living room.

It's moving along.
No, I won't be done by the 1st of April. But it won't be too much past that where I am comfortable with saying "the rest of it can go!", so it's actually good.

My final job after the main packing is the clothing. I want to keep 4 days of clothes available and toss or pack the rest. This time of year, though, I'm never sure if I'll need a heavy coat or just two sweaters. Ha!

Goodmorneve and another coffee, Giggleplus!
Tonight I plan to try the fasting thing so I can go tomorrow for the blood tests. No food after 8 pm and no coffee in the morning. There's something particularly evil about that - you people really want me before coffee? Okay, you asked for it!
When you are fasting from 8pm, what is your actual last bite of food? Dinner hour around 5 or 6, or do you hold that final bite until 7:59pm? ___

Okay, now. Holiday weekend over. My self-imposed "be ready by April 1, so you have time to rework anything that was done too quickly or wasn't done properly" is going to pass unheeded.

Nope, not ready. Won't be ready.
There has been coffee, there has been sleep, there has been food, there has been television-watching, there has been email writing, there has been doing-of-the-taxes-paperwork.

Yeah, lots of "prepping for the move" stuff missing in there. hahahaha

Tuesday. A new day. A day when I have had some sleep. Coffee one is next to me, half gone. After coffee two, there will be a reboot on this packing.

Four weeks and counting.

I am looking for my chocolate eggs and bunnies.
Where are they?

Oh, right - instead of shopping for candy yesterday, we went out early to get boxes, had lunch, came home and slept. And slept and slept.
The joy of sleep.

10 pm - I think I'm on Australia time. Or maybe even another time zone behind that.

The beast of a table still stands. Maybe today it will be taken apart?

At some point, I will be clamoring for chocolate, however - so maybe it's a good idea to feed the Bearded Guy some breakfast-type food and then send him on an expedition for candy.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus! Been up a good 8 hours already and have accomplished nothing.

Ah, the joy that is my art table.
Yes, it still stands.
It's a beast. And I had to clear space around it so that we will be able to get to the two sides to handle those screws.

Now that I have blocked my closets, the Bearded Guy has promised we will break that table today - and we'll set it aside in case someone else wants it.
Gotta schedule a driver for a run to the dump, too. There are definitely some things that should just be tossed.

Once the table is out, I will restack boxes and finish the closets. After that, gotta wait for a few of the smaller boxes to come. I have some heavy items to pack up and I don't want to make things too heavy.

5 weeks.
No where near ready. But only 5 more weeks.
In other news, the doc office called on Tuesday, they've had a cancellation for Wednesday, so in a few hours, I will be seen! Yay!

But in the meantime, where did sleep go? I was asleep. I was. For a little while.
Ah, well. There is paid work on my desk and on his, so we have projects to handle along with this packing.  There is paperwork to do because it's tax season. And it seems that now and then we get hungry and have to stop what we are doing and eat.

Why is eating interrupting my day?
:D

Got a coffee, will work a while. But I might need a nap after the doc appointment!

Seasonals packed. At least, the parts that were in the hallway cabinet. I believe there may be more in the attic storage. Meh.

But sleep? No, that isn't in the cards.

Photos, grandkid drawings, the art from my walls (yes, +Abigail Markov, Purple and Papaya are packed - they will go to Berlin), and the mementos are all in a box. Wrapped and wrapped and stacked and marked, they are in a box, ready to go.

This week will be difficult as I sort through the physical books I am taking with me. My dryer was fixed today! Yay! I should get another two years before it truly gives up. That's good news, I was not looking forward to purchasing a dryer on arrival.

While part of me is happy to clear out some things I wasn't using, another part of me is asking why I have to give up all the things? Why am I starting over in a new country at my age? Why did I agree to this? What is wrong with me?

There's nothing wrong with me except the as-yet-undiagnosed-whatever-illness-this-is-that-I-am-fighting and a sense of "too fast" stress going on about the move.

Six weeks left. (minus a day or two)
And for some reason, I can not find my ability to schedule or plan or prioritize.

Feels like as soon as I start one thing, seven others pop to the top.

And that broken dryer stress was worse than I thought - just having a working dryer can mean the difference in my whole day. I actually laughed today. And clapped my hands in joy.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Up too late yet again from not being able to get comfortable. Will be happy when sleep stops eluding me.
What broken thing being fixed can make you extremely happy?___

Late start.
Is anything happening today? Well, okay, I did get a work file. Can't handle that right now, sleep is eluding me.

The last day of having our housekeeper - she has come and gone and now the rest of the cleaning here is up to us. Six weeks of cleaning. And clearing. And getting stuff outta here.

And is that the sun? And we're nearing 2-digit numbers for an outdoor temp? Oh, don't tempt me, I am dreaming of spring - and maybe being able to try walking outside without extra layers on to keep warm. Perhaps the extra layers are getting in the way of walking? Maybe?

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Sleep? Work? Pack?
Oh, how do you choose, if you don't have to leave the house for the day, what comes first?

One file turned in. Life is good, client is happy.
Made it out of bed today. Life is good, coffee is hot and I am happy.

In good spirits, though feeling tired still. Lordhavemercy this waiting to see the doc is getting on my nerves and I do hope he's already got it figured out by the time I get there. ha!

Trying to keep up with everyone and everything going on here - found out I'm missing some people in my circles again.
G+, why does this happen with every new update?

Ah, well.

Movers booked.
Many thanks to +Xpress Flytt  for being so fabulous about answering questions and keeping my mind sane while I looked at all the options and what we are taking to Berlin!  Looking forward to working with your guys!

We have so much to do and even though it's still 6 weeks away, moving is stressful!
Aside from trying to make sure that we get enough sleep, do you have recommendations for calming yourself while going through the packing process?___

Vet gave us the clearing date for the animals - come the 4th of April, they can be taken across international borders.
We're trying to schedule moving them a couple of weeks later and give them a week-ish to get used to the new location before we move the rest of the stuff.

We shall see.

In the meantime, there is work for both of us, and of course it's all rush. Yay!
Second cup of coffee down, now back to the grind.

Goodmorneve and early vet appointments, Giggleplus!
Chip numbers on the animals all cleared now, and the move is ... well, it's sort of moving along. Another day, perhaps, before we get the boxes in here. In the meantime, I have a lot of stuff that can go away!

If a friend is taking the laptops for parts, would he also need the power supplies? I hope so!

Sorting and trashing and boxing and working.
Sleeping and eating - and can I go back to bed now?

Coffee just makes it so I can do the work through non-blurry eyes.

Why is it that when you start a move, the place looks its absolute worst ever? I would think it would start looking cleaner or clearer - no. It's worse. It's like a hurricane came through and dropped everything in a pile - in each room.

Meh.

The joy of work, though. I hold to that today!

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
A broken dryer (might be fixable), finishing the animal passports and continuing the boxing and sorting - am I the only one doing it wrong?
Does your moving process look better each day or worse for a while?

That bright yellow ball in the sky - is it what I think it is?
The thermometer is rising slowly.
The room is getting warmer.

Positive thinking.
That's what is holding me together right now.

Doc's office called - my appointment has been rescheduled. A month from now. A month. Another month of a cane, another month of wondering what is wrong (maybe longer, depends if this new doc has a clue or if my blood tests finally showed something).
Yeah, gotta find a way to keep the positive stuff going on!

There's work.
There's packing.
I actually got one box finished yesterday. And all the sorting of the beauty samples that are in my Glossybox subscription. Our little Best Ever Big Sister was thrilled to get the collection of things I won't be saving for myself.

If I work out all the storage things first, that will simplify the packing for the things I want daily, right?

There are at least 4 of us going through this "pack it up to move" process. Anyone out there with tips and hints?
Oh - I've already looked into have the movers pack it up for me. It seems that is out of my budget. Unless, of course, I win the lottery!___

Saturday night?
No, Sunday morning.
Overnight, the noise from outside was a now-and-then sleep interrupter.
And then - is there really so little to do in this town that going up and down 3 floors in the elevator is considered a fun thing?

So yes, I am awake. With my first cup of coffee. And it's 6:30 in the morning.

I am quite tempted to find an airhorn and start with it at about 11:00 - but I fear those who woke ME up wouldn't be bothered by such a sound. And those who were kind enough to be quiet after midnight would definitely not appreciate such a thing.

Now that I am up...
There will be work. Later.
There will be sorting for the packing. Later.
And there will be dishes done. Later.
And the laundry will be folded and put away. Later.

Now? Coffee. Reading. Online games.

Are you ever wakened by the neighbors? (I know at least one of you battles this nearly daily) In Sweden, it's far more likely that you'll find a nasty note in the communal laundry room about not having cleaned up behind you - but then again, very few of us obnoxious Americans live here, and so when I go off, they actually shut up now and then. Gotta figure out who had the elevator party before I do, though.___

Waking up late.
But there was a break in my sleep in the middle of the night.

Looking into having a moving company take the stuff to Berlin. We won't have all that much, but it's still a two-day deal, because really, who wants to drive 12 hours without stopping overnight?
I did it once. It was not fun.
Asking friends to do that is actually kind of rude.

So - pay a mover. I think that might be best.

Work and work! Yay!
But that's after the coffee takes hold.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
How much money is involved in hiring a mover? Quotes are starting to come in. But what is the real price in keeping friendships and not asking friends to do the work - paying in pizza and beer?

It is morning, or so claims my clock.
A little rain, a second coffee, and an appointment, but then a new project (yay!), and a round of packing scheduled for later.

So much to do, so little time... isn't that nearly a quote from the Willy Wonka movie? (The first one.)

And I may have picked up whatever it is the Bearded Guy has. So very uninterested in this. Sneezing and sniffling. Just a cold? I hope!

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Must leave my fortress today for bloodwork, then come home and settle back into this and work, work, work for a goodly part of the day.

I am grateful for that. That I can leave my fortress, and come back to work.
But the pile of things that needs to be done too - laundry, dishes, paperwork... does it ever end?

With the Bearded Guy definitely under the weather, it looks like I need to take the trek to the grocery store.
Oy, this is not something I look forward to. I'm stalling just writing this.

Within the hour, however, it must be done.

One more coffee?
One more game?
One more song?
One more... anything?

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
I have to leave my fortress and brave the outside world. It's 2 degrees, but nothing is falling from the sky (nor is the sky falling), and so I really have no reason to put this off.

I've been putting off doing my nails because they are rather long and while yes, I am afraid of breaking them, I'm also very interested in using wraps this time and that is going to take more than an hour to do properly.
With children around, with extra work, with not feeling my best, I haven't been up to the "ordeal".

Today, we are on hold for two pieces of work to arrive. Neither of those is a rush job. Neither of those is expected to be all that difficult, just long.
So perhaps today is my day to go back to my art table.

Goodmorneve and a little more coffee, Giggleplus!
I love my work. And I am quite lucky that my work will come with me to Berlin. This is a case of being thankful for technology! (Though I am still fighting the decision of tablet or no tablet.)

Sometimes, even a morning with not enough coffee is countered by a happy, giggling child.

Our little Pocket Viking goes back to Lovely Mommy today - but we have had a grand time with him (and his Best Ever Big Sister for part of it) and there is nothing like waking up to a happy child.

After that part of it, reality is that I am worn out. He's not yet four years old and I'm well past 25. As happy and easy as he is, he's wearing me out!
Love him, though.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Once he leaves, we have paid work that must get completed for the morning, then I have a long list of paperwork things to take care of for Monday.
How much can you push aside in order to have time to play with the kids?

Already up to work, one more thing to finish, then prep for a Pocket Viking weekend!

In and among all of this is the moving planning that is still going on.
And the appointments and checks to find out just exactly what is wrong with me. We'd definitely like an answer to that question before the move, please.

Games and toys, knick-knacks and trivialities, work and more work, and sleep and coffee. My life revolves around these right now.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Nearly given up on writing and creative endeavors of late - so much work to do.
How much can you let your creative just sit while you work and plan?

New work!
More scripts  - yes, please and thank you very much.

I have had to turn down other work, because while I am very good at what I do, sometimes having a project that must be completed and returned within 24 hours is simply too much for me.

I don't see the sun yet, but the cloud cover may be in just the right position to hide it from my windows. There is light, just not that big yellow ball.

Need more coffee and my brain to clear up. Otherwise, let's have a Thursday!

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
If you "fake it" long enough, pretty soon your mood changes.
I was told that. Not sure if I believe it or not. Can you fake being happy long enough to make yourself actually become happy?

Toss the negativity, where's the positive stuff?
Okay...
1. I have been brought a fresh mug of coffee!
2. Made it out of the bed, all the way down the hall to the couch.
3. There is paid work (Scripts!) waiting for me.
4. The sun is shining.

Yeah, that's all I got.
But that's better than what I was looking at yesterday, I'm not sure I could even call any of that positive yesterday.

My last phone kept going (with a motherboard upgrade) for nearly 4 years and when it finally gave out, I got the Bearded Guy's more recent iPhone. I'm still not friends with it. But it runs my bank app. Still, it's dying as well. I didn't want a new phone so I'm using what we had in the house.

Computers no longer give me 5 years of good service. Tablets are barely making 3. Phones? I don't even want to guess now.

I am generally a fan of technology, I am generally a fan of this global connectivity, I think it's great that I can "visit" with my grandkids across an ocean. But having to throw out my equipment and get new ones every few years? Not a fan of that.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
If your current equipment just won't do the job any more, do you get the newest replacement or find a new way to do what has to be done?
In other words - maybe it's time for me to give up the tablet and just get a phone I can live with, relegate my apps and tools to computers and a smart phone for now. Or bite the bullet, pay the money and get the latest and greatest tablet. ___

Oh dear, oh dear -
One of our cats is not properly registered, and his chip number does NOT match his paperwork!
It's the same cat, it's the same cat we've had from the beginning, we don't take him outside, he has only lived with the breeder and with us.

Somebody, somewhere, put the wrong sticker on his paperwork - back in 2004!

And now - now that he's 12, cranky and a bit high-stress - now we find out that his chip number has been wrong all this time.

A call to Sverak (Swedish breeder association) and they say it's okay, just get our vet to mark the correct number and that will be fine.
Really? Fine for a passport? Fine for anyone else to read his chip and then look at his paperwork? Just because our vet writes a note?

Oh, this was more stress for me than I realized.
Supposedly, it's all good.

Nyköping!
The Bearded Guy's vernissage is happening right now at Galleri Fiskhuset.
I am absolutely amazed at how many people have come already. We are here until 1600.

Goodmorneve and artwork, Giggleplus!

It's been insane lately and preparing for this is part of the reason why.

I have one in particular who likes getting daily updates on project progress. We chatter in email a little - sure, it breaks up my work flow, but it's also a good way to feel out the next set of projects and keep my name on the list of freelancers to call. We've been discussing the benefits and downfalls of sugar during the work day. When to drop what you're doing and find a cookie, when to just walk away from that donut table.
He's fun.

Goodmorneve and water for the evening, Giggleplus!
I'm tired, my brain doesn't want to do any more translating, but there are 2 videos due on Monday and 1 book piece due back ASAP for first-round editing and one script for prep for the next version which will be here next week and a second script that is on hold for just another day or two while I clear this desk.
Do you work all week, or actually take a weekend?
Freelancers - do you prefer to work through projects and then take a longer period off? A month of work and a week of nothing, for instance?___
