I own the +Ireland  community here on G+. I think we are all so bombarded with irrelevant invitations to irrelevant communities, I rarely send out any invites at all. No, don’t bother joining if you’ve no interest in Ireland and Irish culture you’ll be bored stiff! Communities are not about ‘numbers’, they’re not about broadcasting and mindless reshares, they’re about real people and real conversations. I love my Ireland community, it’s a bit like my local where I drop in every so often and the regulars are always at the bar:-) We’re mainly a group of Irish people, living and working in Ireland. We share the best of Irish culture and we’re careful to make sure it is authentic and the real Ireland we live in and we love. Everybody with an interest in Ireland and all about Ireland is welcome.

- When the coworkers were ethical, two-thirds turned whistleblower.
- When the coworkers were unethical, only one-third of the volunteers spoke up.

Huh: Did you expect unethical environments bred whistle blowers more readily? :) Me too.

If you use a proprietary program or somebody else's web server, you're defenceless. You're putty in the hands of whoever developed that software.

Anyone in NY care to share the inside scoop on the Citi bike programme?
The media seem to be going a bit over the top about it.

Is it an opportunity for political adversaries to use it for spiteful gain? It's kinda seeming that way (from the outside).

Full Disclosure:
- I love bicycles
- I think more folk should use em
- Any scheme that promotes their usage is good in my books
- Dublin's bike scheme has been a MASSIVE success for locals & tourists

Let's talk BITRATES

[Not exclusively a Reason discussion :)]

What bitrate do you use on Reason exported tunes? Any feelings on what works? In particular, when going to MP3.

I'd long been using 128 or slightly higher on stuff I didn't really care about (e.g. web uploads) thinking smaller file size was better, and sure the quality isn't priority.

But this last year, I'm finding I can't tolerate MP3 bitrates lower than 320.

Maybe my ears are getting tuned to the higher qual, or the sound on my music setup/car stereo/earphones benefits from the better quality. Certainly seems to capture more at 320 kbps in live recordings/vox.

Any feelings on this one?

... tweek it by all means.
... shore up the flaws (its opensource so hackers can easily weed these flaws out)

Heck, a huge percentage of the world's web servers have Apache servers somewhere in the mix.

But for cryin out loud, lock down the security as a priority if you expect people to pay big bucks.
