One of my very rare video shares, but this one made me stop and go, "What?!"

And then flail at how adorable it is.

Also, this bird sings better than most people I know, myself included. This also proves 'birdbrain' might not be a great insult. At one point, the bird looks offended when the accompaniment is slow on the pickup.

I must say this:  My son has HATED with passion being on swim team.  He joined to strengthen his swimming skills.  He has done it for 3 weeks now, and when he started, he was last in everything.  Now he is passing everyone in his lane during the sprints.  Despite his hatred for it, he has succeeded.  I have pride in my progeny :)

The comments here are almost if not as interesting as the article itself.  The court reached a Solomon type decision IMO and more trouble will come from maintaining status quo.  Eventually, there will be no "naturally occurring" genes with as much tampering as goes on today...

Good morning Googalia.  How are you today?  Is it your Friday, and what will you do with your weekend?  It's been a while since I have posted something for my fellow #spacecadets .  This interested me just because it "isn't supposed to be..." but there it is.  I'm off to Iowa to visit tomorrow.  I won't be able to leave early as we'd hoped though.  

The Schwann's incident from last weekend?  Yeah, now we finally go pick up the orders they couldn't give us last week after hours of waiting.  Must love how this just was drawn out for far longer than needed.  IMO they actually are missing a huge selling opportunity by having kids do their deliveries when they are used to going door to door for their deliveries anyway.  They would have the opportunity to expand their customer base and routes if they actually delivered the orders after kids did all theleg work i... more »

Heh, Murphy's Law:  Stand in line to get Schwann's fund raiser order to deliver for 2 hours in the rain AFTER the swim meet and working the concession stand for 45 minutes longer than I signed up for...get to front of the line and the computer breaks and they leave...Call back in an hour to see if we're coming back.  Glad we didn't collect the money yet.  All I could do was laugh because the alternative was less pleasant LOL.

Rantish, sort of:

I swear there is some conspiracy stating I can not plant this year...3 solid weeks of wet, we get two days to dry out, just as I'm heading out, literally...?  Yeah, you guessed it, large thunderstorm, hail, lightening.  My plant starts are gonna die if I can't get them in soon.  The temps have wildly swung from 40-90, non-stop rain...I has a sad!  The reason I waited today?  I had to re-till the garden area because 3 weeks that's why.

Ugh...anyone know how to de-dandruff a cat?  Ours has always had it, but it's worse spring and fall time.  He sheds a lot, but we bathe him rarely, and then we use a moisturizing allergy free type (Aveeno).  It's gross though.  Ideas?  The vet said to use the fish oil capsules, and we do, to no avail.  His food has lots of omegas in it so I'm not sure why he's so flaky lol.

Anyone have experience with PHIT America?  It's supposed to be a pre-tax medical eligible account to help you defray the costs of gyms, martial arts, swimming, tennis stuff that helps you stay fit...here's the link.  

It provides quite an incentive and gives you good stats to get it instated at work.  We are looking into an aspect of it for our clients at our dojo.  It's something they are instituting in at state and local school levels as well.

Evidently there are cannibals in FL.  I read about it and am sick.  I didn't bother watching the video, which is posted (online but not in my post)...I refuse.  WTF?  Other reports talk about how several people watched but did nothing as the man attacked the homeless man for 18 minutes in broad daylight on a sidewalk where bicyclists passed by and pedestrians gave wide berth.  Again I say, WTF?  We now are a society that allows people to die on train tracks or by having their faces eaten off in broad daylight for the sake of photos and pictures?  I'm off to go garden and calm down.

For those wondering how the belt testing for hubby and +Taylor Solberg went, they did wonderfully and succeeded in acquiring their 3rd degree black belts.  I couldn't be prouder if they could change colors...or something.  Our website is finally back on track and mostly finished.  Now I just have to figure out how to imbed documents to print off and add a little more text and we'll be good.  Yay.

A new blog for our website.  We were honored that the first guest post was written by Doctor +Forrest Beck.  It took us a while to get the website folks to get it fixed, but we finally figured out how to get it published without the 404 errors.  I'm still figuring out how to publish documents to the forms and reading page, but everything is up and running now and we'll just be adding things as we go.  Thanks again Forrest!

Whoa.  My browser just updated to the new format for G+...Jury is out, but it isn't as busy, I'll give it that much.  I'm going to explore it a bit, and I'll get back with you on how I feel about the new thingy.  I'm not terribly sure I'm going to like it as I don't seem to see as many posts as I did with the other format.  It feels like I have to scroll much more for far fewer posts.  Like I said, I'mma give it a whirl and see.

+Jessica Obermayer has asked me to come up with alternative exercises for the 30-day challenge.  Due to time constraints, I'll take on a few at a time as I will go into how to make it both easier and harder for those who aren't "mid-road" exercisers.  If you have questions on how to do something, I can try to help field them for you.  

You should always listen to your body.  Don't go by what someone tells you for how many repetitions you should do, go by whether you can safely, precisely complete the exercise without losing position or shaking.  More than this can cause micro-tears in the muscles and create that soreness that prevents many from continuing an exercise program.  

Something else to consider.  You will do 2x the work in about 1/2 of the repetitions if you perform the exercise precisely and slowly both moving in and out of position.  You willengage b... more »

Hiya Googalia.  How are you tonight?  I'm currently reading a story that is present tense, 1st person account.  It is highly annoying.  It feels as though I am the one going through the actions being called by someone else's name etc.  The story itself has a good plot but just now I came across the misuse of the word weary...for wary.  Is that a common exchanged word?  It is excessively distracting since they use it repetitively.

Good morning Googalia.  How are you today?  Have you started your weekend yet, or will it get into swing later?  

We have a boat now, I couldn't get photos yesterday because hubby took off with it before I got to see it...seriously!  I have bar stools that will be getting put together today, I'm hoping I can figure them out anyway.  It's rainy out, so it's a good day to stay inside and get indoors things done.  Speaking of that, we woke to some awful smell today.  Now the cat box is clean, the trash is out, the dishes are done the fridge is clean, so we're really at a loss for what it could be.  It wasn't there when we came home last night after the concert...but man is it here now.

You know, this makes me wonder how many others we wrote off as dead or run-away when they've been living in hell instead.

The idea that the police got calls consistently through the years and never did more than show up at the door disturbs me.  It is especially disturbing when the nature of the call-ins were less than pretty.  I know police see terrible things every day, but really?  A naked woman crying and crawling on a lawn doesn't warrant at least a physical once through?

Have you ever just been really wowed by an author?  I'm reading a second series by +Carolyn McCray called "The Betrayed." It is the entire series boxed set for .99 cents.  You have a strong, smart heroine, a quietly brilliant hero, a talented team of black ops guys, a mole, a villainous group of bad guys that really, really want anyone who knows their secrets to die...I'm having trouble putting it down and doing my work.  I also really enjoyed her "Robinhood Hacker" series too.  I've always enjoyed her books, but these are downright stellar.  They have it all.  I see she has more series in bundles, and I plan to work my way through them.  Few authors earn an auto-buy policy, I think this one just wiggled her way in :P
