Shane is probably the bravest, most honest and hilarious 20 year old you'll ever meet. He suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is bound to his wheelchair, but doesn't let it define him or limit him.

Shane's going to be on the +Katie Couric Show this Friday, June 20th!   He'll be sharing his inspirational story about his documentary "Laughing at My Nightmare."  This guy is really amazing.

Don't be surprised if toxicology reports show a decent amount cocaine in his system.  I'm not starting rumors but basing this on stories from people I know here in New Orleans of the times he spent down here.

New Orleans has a problem with the word "Reliable"

Is Stereotyping the same as Racism?

This is a topic I've thought about a few times and a recent comment on my previous post made me think about it again.

If someone assumes that Russians are vodka-loving spies does that make them a racist?

Personally, I think they are separate. I think I can stereotype without being racist because I'm definitely not racist.

This series has been phenomenal so far and, as much as I want to see the Spurs win this outright, I know this will be their hardest game so far.  The Heat usually bounce back very well and they are back at home.

Yes, there's a problem here but I don't thing the problem is with any type of discrimination.  It has to do with critical thinking skills.

Let's look at this way.  This photographer was probably so used to doing things a certain way, each and every time that he/she did not either think anything was odd or didn't now how to make this picture better.  I don't think it was malicious.  There were solutions but the photographer in this case is clearly lacking certain skills.

Note:  Why is the child in question the only one to not have his face blurred out in this picture beside the teacher?

The heat index is 96F with 56% humidity. (real temp 89F). It's cooled down enough (I hope) to go out for a bike ride as I try to work my way back up to 20 miles.  My goal today is at least 8 miles with a possibility of 10-12 (unlikely).

I've got a frozen bottle of +Gatorade with me that will be nicely thawed up and extremely cold after the first 4 miles and I just bought 2 more large bottles that are in the fridge.

Who's Responsible For This?

I just passed this sign up and had to circle around to get a picture of it. Most of you know I would probably spot this a mile away.  
Here's the problem ......Yes, there's a BLATANT misspelling but the bigger problem I have with this is with the printer.

For argument's sake, let's assume the following:
1)  The transportation company gave it to the printer spelled like this
2) The printer didn't catch the misspelling
3) This was not intentional from the trans. company.

If you were the printing company, would you feel obligated to tell the client about the misspelling?

The problem with today's Miss Whatever Pageants

I don't watch those shows but I have a much better way of helping to choose better winners.

You know those deep, though-provoking questions they usually ask to the top x finalists?  The ones that make half of them sound completely stupid (see my previous post). 

ASK THOSE QUESTION BEFORE THE FINALIST STAGE

Think about it.  The very first competition should be that question.  I guarantee they'll come down to 10 intelligent finalists very quickly and not waste anyone's time.
