Low latency audio on Android

Somebody asked on jack-devel for a summary of the recent Google I/O high-performance audio talk.

If you're interested and don't follow jack-devel, here's what I wrote:

   - Android until JellyBean had no SCHED_FIFO in the kernel.                  
                                                                                
   - Android now uses SCHED_FIFO and CGROUPS with 5% budget for low-latency audio while normal audio runs with SCHED_OTHER (low-priority). Grml - new stable release 2013.02 available

This release brings the Grml tools towards the upcoming Debian stable release (AKA wheezy), provides up2date hardware support and fixes known bugs from the previous Grml release.

Did you know that you can easily test trim performance with the latest fio? Below is running the following sample job file, doing random 4k trims to the entire device:

Linux now finally has some working and upstream iSCSI target called LIO. Everything is configured through targetcli which gives a nice and concise configuration interface.
