Once I verify your listing, I'll add you to this circle for the next time I share it.It is also important to be in my circle of #GTUG Organizers in order to get invites to the GTUG Hangouts On Air that I run from time to time. Wilco Wings1,54204.40 GeeksIf you're interested to be in this circle's next update, leave a comment. You can also suggest people for this circle.Well, let's try something new here...When you start at Google+, you get a couple of default circles, and when I think back, I had no clue what to do with it. I read a lot of tuts about circle management etc. Started over a few times (bad habit), but it didn’t really worked out for me.I tried to get a number of people interested in Google+ by demonstrating it on the screen. I noticed how confused they were.So I started over with my circle management again, now with a different approach. I took all my interests in my daily live, converted them into interest circles. When I demonstrate Google+ to people now, I don’t see those confused looks anymore, must done something right here. Most Google+ users keep there circle management for themselves (I noticed). I’m going to do the opposite here, I’m gonna share more than 40 interest circles, handpicked (except the Galaxy Nexus circle and the Chromebook circle, these are started by others shared circles).2012-02-28 22:19:38931035CC G+

Custom Views are possibly one of these things that separate a good app from a truly great one. So let's get crackin' this article is a great read.

Now that Fragment has launched, I get to share some of the fun UI tricks that I implemented for the app.  In this post, I share some tricks that I used to make UI elements that, hopefully, are intuitive and will delight our users.

Just revisited one of my Chrome Extensions. Remember Where's that Sound?

It's a small Extension that keeps track of any video currently playing in your Google+ Stream. Scrolled away? No problem, just click the little indicator on your scrollbar and the extensions scrolls right back to your playing video.

I'd love to hear some feedback/criticism. Any Idea how I could improve the extension?

Phew...just finished Telltale's "The Walking Dead"-Season 2 finale. And again, just like I felt at the end of Season 1, I'm heartbroken. TWD might just be an "interactive Story" rather than a full blown Adventure Game, but I'm truly impressed by the way Telltale keeps telling those mature and emotional stories. Great Game!

I recommend everyone to try to pick up Season 1 and 2 of this awesome series. There are sales of the whole season happening every now and then, so you should be able to pick it up at a good price.

(Maybe hold off watching that Trailer I linked below if you plan to play for yourself as it contains a few spoilers on Season 1 and 2)

I ❤ #RecyclerView  already.

Sorry for duplicate post.
Due to G+ policy about private posts, I decided to reshare it publicly.

Don't call RecyclerView the ListView2. It isn't.
This view has a terrific prospective.

As described by +Wolfram Rittmeyer[1] there is a great separation of concerns.
In the AbsListView the adapter usually builds the layout and takes care about events and animations.
Now we have the LayoutManager and ItemAnimations
Each one has its role in the RecyclerView and mainly they are (should be) indipendent

This should allow to have different libraries working together without changes.

In this example I am using the twoway-view [2] by +Lucas Rocha with my collection (simple and raw) of ItemAnimations [3] .
They work together with all current layouts provided.

The great feature is that it doesn't require changes because they work with the standard method proposed by the RecyclerView.

In this video I use a slide in/out from/to the right animation in the vertical grid and a slide in/out from/to the top in the horizontal list.

Enjoy it!

Here's a short Gist explaining how to send uncaught Exceptions happening in your Android Wear Application upstream to the Companion App running on Android.

This way you get to report those crashes to services like Crashlytics for further analysis. Android Wear devices can not send those reports themselves since they are (by design) not directly connected to the Internet but rely on their companion App running on a Smartphone/Tablet to make the connection.

Happy Anniversary +Paul Wilcox

My First 10 Years at Google

I’ve just passed my 10 year Googleversary. It’s been 10 years since I converted from a contract worker to a full-time Googler.

From time to time, people ask me “why do you still work there?” Truthfully, I can say that I enjoy having a small part in something that feels very important and futuristic. To the little boy inside me that grew up watching Star Trek and reading as much sci-fi literature as I could, Google still feels like a place that’s on the bleeding edge of tomorrow. A place that’s trying to improve the world through technology. A place that’s reaching for a bright future. And I love that I get to make my own contribution to that.

Another question I get asked a lot is “what’s changed since you started?” When I was hired Google employed about 2500 people, now I think there are about 50,000. Growth is difficult; I’ve moved desks and changed managers so many times I’ve lost count (seriously, I’ve had approximately 20 desks since I started). Organizational complexity has increased as well, as I’ve seen more layers of management get added, and more departments have a stronger stake in how products are developed and released. But the growth has been good: the company is capable of so much more now, and we have such a wider footprint on the world, and we have so many more excellent people helping us grow and shape and explain our offerings.

With that growth have come some challenges. Google hasn’t been a quirky start-up that only offered great web search results for a long time. People, governments, watchdog groups, competitors, disrupted industries, and media sometimes question the company’s motives and activities. Occasionally it feels like as soon as the company does something anyone is concerned about, that’s the moment they cry “Aha! Google has finally gone evil!”

I think those questions from the outside are important. I think they help keep pressure on the company to keep doing our best. From my viewpoint, Google’s unofficial motto “Don’t be evil” is still very much alive and well. To me, it’s embodied in Google’s list of “10 things we know to be true” (found at http://www.google.com/about/company/philosophy/) as the #1 item on the list: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.” Is Google a business? Yes. Does the company have very successful revenue streams? Yes. But the rest of the Internet is just one click away and will still work even without Google there, even if you choose not to use Google, so it’s in the company’s best interest to do the best it can for users. I think Google has really helped improve the web, but truly the world was spinning along just fine before Google arrived, and I’m confident it will keep right on spinning after Google is gone.

When I look at everything Google’s accomplished in my 10 years I’m still truly impressed. More information, faster, to much more of the world. New ways to make information and communication more ubiquitous through things like Android and Google Glass. Self-driving cars. Building and growing platforms to help billions of people spread their messages, like Gmail, Blogger, YouTube, and Google+. High-altitude balloons that bring Internet connections to places where there are none. Sometimes I wonder how much Larry and Sergey thought about the future when they founded the company; did they realize just how far they’d get to push the envelope? And who knows what the crazy dreamers over in Sergey’s Google X division are thinking of next? I can’t wait to see.

When I was a young man, my father passed to me what he considered some of the best advice he’d received from his college mentor: change your career every 10 years just to keep things fresh. I think it's good advice. Well in the last 10 years at Google I’ve worked on Web Search, Orkut, Google Notebook, Google Finance, Google Video, Google Reader, iGoogle, ChromeOS, Google+, Android, and many more. I’ve been a trainer, a product support lead, a liaison with the legal and the public relations departments, a mentor, a community manager, and a gazillion other jobs. I’ve helped shape and implement our support and community strategies, met people from all over the world, fought malicious software, spoken at schools, helped defend against child pornography, and assisted uncountable numbers of people with Google’s products and services to help make their lives better through technology and information. It’s all been very rewarding.

And I hope to keep doing so for many more years.

Reminder: the views expressed on this and other Google+ posts are mine alone and not those of my employer.___1 Googol for every year ;)

Another nice detail which got revealed by the #Moto360 pics up on #MisterGadget  (in Italian, http://www.lucaviscardi.eu/moto360-la-gallery-in-esclusiva/):

The Moto360 got an Optical Heart Rate Sensor. I don't think this was announced before. On the pictures posted by Moto they were usually stickers on the bottom of the Watch.

That charger looks like a winner. Reminds me of that creepy home robot Jibo ;)

(Plus: If you remove the straps, you can apparently use the Moto 360 as super expensive alarm clock)

Made my first batch of #KoolAid . Don't laugh, it's a big deal if you're based in Europe.

Got Cherry, Orange, Tropical Punch and Peach. Any flavor recommendations?
