ARTISTS! If you're sharing your work on Google+ there's one important new "feature" you're going to want to disable immediately! Auto Enhance.
You know those colors you slaved over for hours to get just right? Google+ thinks it can do better, and if you don't turn it off it will boost up the saturation and blow out the contrast, forcing you to go back to every image individually to undo it.
Or, you can nip it in the bud right now. Go to the left to make the pop up menu appear, hit settings, and uncheck the box I've highlighted below.

Seriously pissed off at +Adobe's new Creative Cloud pricing model!

As someone who only uses Lightroom and Photoshop, they are effectively doubling my cost to use these programs. As if it's not bad enough that in Europe we get gouged on average an extra 40% over US prices!

Then of course there's the whole issue of being forever locked into paying them money every month... else much of the work you do using CC software (like cataloguing in Lightroom) is lost.

Can someone please advise how I go about updating Nik software since Google purchased it? I own what were the latest versions prior to the Google takeover (complete collection), and when I attempt to use some of the plugins they tell me an update is available. But when I click on the link to go to the website (to download the update) I'm getting a Page Not Found message.

I looked through the site and cannot find any information on updating, so I  download the trial of the package and installed that but now it's of course in trial mode.

Surely I don't have to purchase it again now that Google own it???

These photo were taken during my first trip ever to NYC in October of 1979.
This is the New York I "first met" and it was Love at first sight. I do not think that there is a better place for a photographer to be than NYC . If you love street photography like +Leanne Staples  +Joshua Evan Powell  +Garth McKay  you are in Heaven.

Every corner, every street, every avenue offers a wide choice of humanity and
scenes that are worth a few shots. The Love for NYC has never gone. The Big Apple always rocked and always will in my heart.

(please forgive the quality...the original were shot on a Kodak 100 ASA film  developed in 1980 and reproduced)

Racism ... Sexism ... Homophobia ... It is time we all take a stand and police our own community - out of decency, and respect for what we know is right...!

I've been fortunate not to have much of an issue with hate speech and all the other crap that I see slung around in many of the 'What's Hot' posts, and on the fringes of the Google+ community. Very fortunate. If you've read any of my hundreds (thousands now?) of posts - you know why. I take great care in vetting each person I add. I don't simply look at your profile. I look at your last hundred posts, and I search your name as related to posts, and I constantly scan the WH lists for bile and hatred. And I look at your circles. And I am constantly keeping an eye open for hatred. I'm vigilant because I have to be.

But I'm tired of being silent. Tired of trolls and snakes slithering out... more »
