Some of you who follow me may be wondering where my portraits and landscapes have gone. 

It's a simple time management problem. I'm starting a G+ Community called Racquetball. You see I play both Squash and when I'm in the US Racquetball.

I'm also a Racquetball Photographer. It's challenging photographically for many reasons, and I will be sharing with those who may want to join. 

Oh, and yes, this is a shameless plug for the community.

Kangaroo alert! Last night coming home from dinner we saw a kangaroo in our next door neighbor's yard only about 5 feet from our driveway. And it stayed there munching on grass while we pulled into the garage. Canberra Australia.

January 18th was the hottest January day ever in Canberra Australia. That's 106.88 F for my American friends. Not bad for this desert rat who lived in Las Vegas for 14 years and saw multiple 49 C days (120 F). ;-)

Not only the hottest day, but also the 10 year anniversary of the 2003 Canberra bushfires. To foreigners like me, it is hard to comprehend the enormity of the size and personal loss this fire caused. These are not like fires in the US friends. Fires in Australia can can become as large as an entire US state! 

In 2011 I met Niki van Buuren while shooting stills as part of a short film for my friend Graham Gall. She is a survivor. I did my job professionally, but when I was home and zoomed in on her photographs I went through a life changing event. You see, when you zoom in in Photoshop, nothing is left to the imagination.

While on the way to Mt. Kosciuszko, the highest in Australia at 2228 M or about 7,293 Feet is Lake Cootapatamba. It was early Summer (December) and we still had lots of wild flowers to see on the hike.

So last weekend I was walking along Lake Burley Griffin with my partner and taking in the blossoming trees. I raised my camera to shoot the Carillon and this lovely women walked up to her bike. She agreed to let me capture the moment. My asking permission and taking the shot only took secconds.

The Carillon is the structure framed by the tree and my subject BTW.
