A few books that represents some of my interests. I wish I could spend more time with all the books I have.
I've started listing my book collection in Goodreads, but that takes forever, which is extremely boring. So I stopped. Maybe when I'm retired I'll have time to properly shelve the books instead of just piling them here and there and storing them in boxes in the basement.
A couple months ago I threw out three big boxes of books I didn't absolutely want to keep - and there are still too many books around!
Which is one of the best argument for ebooks. They don't take up any space.

ATTENTION ALL AGENTS: So here's a somewhat noble idea that I'm taking from the geocaching community to pitch to the Ingress community.
Geocachers have what they call CITO events. CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. They go to areas that are good for geocaching and clean the place up, taking trash, sometimes by the truckload, out of the area before leaving only the cache and signing log behind.
I submit that Ingress agents could do something similar.
We are in the position where we visit important cultural landmarks on a consistent basis, landmarks that are often unimportant or ignored by the regular passerby. As such, these landmarks can often accumulate trash around the location. Even if it's small things like an empty can or a burger wrapper, this adds up over time.

So I'm back ... sorta.
Thanks for all the well wishes and concern this last week, its greatly appreciated. Contrary to rumor I have not been devoured by #zombies ... just painfully sick. Last night I attempted to paint for the first time in a week, which doesn't seem like a long time on paper but in my reality it feels like months. I'm not sure what I think of the image yet, but my kids love it just for the shear size.

I hope to get back in to the full swing of things in the coming days.

Wie man bei einem Such-Test feststellen kann, gibt es nach dem österreichischen Wiederbetätigungs-Verbots-Gesetz ca. 250 Profile, die eindeutig der rechten Szene zuzuordnen sind, da als Name im Profil Adolf Hitler geführt wird und man nicht annehmen kann, dass es so viele Adolf Hitler auf der Welt gibt, die das selbe Konterfei wie der ehemalige Massenmörder haben.
Auch wenn jetzt Google Rechtsvertreter der Meinung sind, dass amerikanisches Recht gelte, so darf man darauf hinweisen, dass es sehr wohl, eine AT Domain von Google gibt, für die österreichisches Gesetz gilt. Ferner ist auch festzustellen, dass gerade ich als Österreicher es als eine historische Zumutung finde, das solch ein Name als Profilname gewählt werden kann.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if G+ had an "introduction feature"? When you circle someone, you can optionally fill out the field "I am circling you because...". That would make it so much easier for me to know whether I want to circle that person back.

So Ingress kept crashing when I tried to submit Portals from my phone's gallery. I found similar bug reports, but no solution. Turns out it must be a memory problem: The original files were over 3MB. I changed the size so the files were something around 200KB, and now the app didn't crash anymore. I'll see in a few weeks whethere the submissions came through.

Just because you are purchasing heirloom or organic seed stock for your garden does NOT indicate you are in any way avoiding #Monsanto. Monsanto owns over 40% of the seed stock in the U.S. and is affiliated to more than that.
By seeking those non-affiliated companies out and supporting them, you are also helping them stand up to the giant.

First, their ombudsman suggested it was unlikely that the Post would implement a paywall, for a variety of sound reasons.
Then the Post fired their Ombudsman. Then they announced the availability of notorious "sponsored posts" throughout their pages.
And it's been ever more rapidly downhill for the Post from there, with their now giving credence to serial Google hater Robert Epstein's ramblings.
