Well I'm back from the spider housen... Something had died - we thought maybe under the house so under I went. Couldn't find anything. Then Alex declares its coming from a heater vent. I can't get to that pipe from the normal access point so I dig under the back of the house and drag myself under digging to clear space for my belly under the joists as I go. Rip off the pipe and nothing in it. Damn shouldn't have trusted the clever one. Seal up the stub and back out. Only one problem there the dog (50kg German Shepherd) has followed me in and is breathing down my neck. I'm lying in a trench and the bitch has me cornered breathing in my ear. I have to push the damn dog out of the way to get out. Back inside and the smell is gone! ARGH. What the fuck was it. I just know it'll come back.

On the weekend I spent time camping in Tallarook State Forest and while I didn't have much time for photography I did squeeze a few off in this magic place. Enjoy.

This could be my favourite abstract image that I've created. I really like the feel of it. What are your thoughts?

Volunteering for Open House Melbourne has opened. I'm volunteering to run buildings on Saturday and then I'll go through priority on Sunday to photograph stuff.

Oddly while their signup is via FB the form, app and storage are all on Google Drive - way to mash :)

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-05-21/apple-averted-taxes-with-offshore-loopholes-us-senate/4704810
This is hardly unique to Apple all major corporations do it leaving it to us their customers to fund government.
It's about time some were reigned in to pay their fair share.
It's simply unfair to announce huge profits then pay a reduced tax.

You know after experimenting and finding out what #autoenhance does I'm going to suggest that the setting be renamed to autosuttonise

Nothing to do Queens Birthday weekend? http://www.echucasteamrally.com.au/
The rally is simply massive. If you come for nothing else, come for the burning of the dunny.
My Scout troop forms an exhibit for the weekend camping old school.

ooo my cabochons have arrived and show much promise. These are going to be fun.
Mostly they'll be useful for close up stuff.
I'll be giving away some of these (minimum order was 10 and I need only a couple).
After you've seen what they can do I'll create some sort of competition.
orbalicious +Charles Strebor you already have one and it shall be delivered personally.
Enjoy.

Hey +Brian Matiash +Google+ Photos +Google+ you're losing people over one of the latest changes. It might be a bug or it might be intentional. Since the update I know of at least 10 local photogs who've gone back to the dark side.
The issue is that when you add to an album you used to be able to share only the new addition (s) and now you can't. This breaks people's 365 abd 52 projects and interferes with community efforts like Selfy Sunday.
The other changes seem pretty good but they're being over shadowed by this issue.
You may already be aware of the tremor in the force but I thought I'd post in case you're not.

As an experiment I wanted to see what the giant pano of the vista as seen while leaving Tallarook State Forest was like in b&w with this new image stuff Google have given us.
Please view full size. It really needs it. Again I rarely share this size for fear of being ripped off but this image begs to be big.

Amazing rural Victorian vista enjoyed after hopping a fence on my way out of Tallarook State Forest while travelling home. This is early afternoon and the tones of the light on that day were amazing. This is a panorama of nine images. I really wish I'd used a tripod as I had to lose some of the foreground and some of the amazing sky. What a truly stunning vista. I rarely share full size images, but this one simply needs to be.

Everything is a home in the Australian Bush
While camped in Tallarook State Forest I was too busy to photography during the day, but near dawn and sunset I had the place nearly to myself so I wandered.
This image of a fallen burnt tree is on the way to becoming the home of a wombat.

So you saw the selfy from the other day looking down into the fire. Here is one from the other angle looking up to us. With me are +Matthew Conway and Caitlan who I think only inhabits the dark side.

Back from a weekend of camping... read all the people whining about the changes - oh no it's so hard. Eat some cement. So it's got three columns now. wfd. Really.

One of the things I like about winter is that I can be bothered getting up to watch the dawn. The golden-red light sets off what's left of the autumn colours and generates vivid greens on the evergreen trees.

mmm ice cream. The best thing about massive Scout events with no showers for three days is stopping some place with loads of people on the way home. Wherever we go a path clears.

+Matthew Pavlinovich is very happy. Well as happy as a nearly 17 year old gets anyway. His seniors hoody finally turned up. He would rather freeze than wear the junior jumper.

Just taking a few seconds from work time to update you on the shonky practices of yesterday... There has been a happy ending with Ebay declaring the seller to be a fraud and killing their auctions and them.

A tale of exploding wombats
Do you buy from overseas sellers - here's my tale of an interesting experience with someone selling from another country. Is the guy a fraud? Judge for yourself. I've got my money back and I'm awaiting the ebay resolution. I can wait forever. Wonder if he can.

Hmmmm... that lens I bought appears to be a scam... the seller first sent me a tracking number this morning then six hours later claimed it was stuck in AU customs and I had to pay more to clear it. Then a few minutes later my money was refunded via PayPal (and is now back in my account - verified). Then I got an email asked me to send money directly to the person's bank in China. I didn't know they had Namibians in China. I've contacted ebay to have the tool butt fucked. What's really interesting is that the tracking number still shows a package on the way. Bet its an empty box. Contemplating get hold of Australia Post to tell them in case it's more evil than that.

Hey folks when you're about to post something or say something mean think about if you'd want it said to you or if you'd want to read it about you.
Follow the Bill and Ted mantra. Be nice to one another.
Some things hurt more than you know. Take care out there the Internet is a bit evil, we'll it's not but the people using it certainly can be.
