Update 2: Turkish Medical association just issued an urgent call that the situation in Turkey is getting worse, and health personnel are being blocked or suppressed from treating injured, again confirming several detention of medical doctors and medical students. They determined that over 10 thousand people have been exposed to harmful gases and there are nearly 1000 serious injuries. The association has issued plea to the international community to act against brutal suppresion of democratic demands of Turkish citizens.

Update1 : There are now reports that this individual may not be doctor but a criminal. We had a long and very interesting conversation last night, over a lot of beer and single malts, about England and Scotland (and wales) and their history. The main conclusion by some participants is: cunning beats culture. To say, Scotland has a deeper ingrained culture  while England historically managed to produce fiercer (some will use different words) leaders and thus gained the upper hand through most of the regional history...

Interesting analysis. 

The unsolicited cockshot is coercive from the start.  By the time she thinks, “I really didn’t want to see that,” she’s already seen it.  She can then:

(1) just ignore him;
(2) call him on his inappropriateness;
(3) play along and humor him.

This woman went with #2, in spectacular fashion, which didn’t go well for him…

Note what he does after she tells him it’s unwanted.  If the purpose were to show off his physical assets in the hope that she’d be interested, one would expect his reply to her reaction to be some sort of apology.  But that’s not how he reacts.  Instead, he tries four times to talk her out of her stated boundaries.  He asks if it’s too big.  He tells her to “relax.”  Then he calls her “prude.”  These are sort of the classic tropes used to attack women for expressing boundariesor calling out sexism: Frigid, uptigh... more »

A few things about yesterday's post (if you don't know anything about it, you can just stop reading here).

1. The messages were not sent to me. Though I would act more or less the same, I'm still not the only fiery redhead on the planet, you know. 
2. I didn't remove the post, it was (probably) deleted by Google Plus staff, though I never received any message, direct or otherwise, about this action.
3. Another post that went viral on Tumblr, was removed and the account blocked - No more details yet.
4. This whole thing made a lot of noise outside social media (If you believe in that sort of place). More than a few will deal with the consequences.

New Sensor a Thousand Times More Sensitive Than Current Camera Sensors

Cameras fitted with a new revolutionary sensor will soon be able to take clear and sharp photos in dim conditions, thanks to a new image sensor invented at Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The new sensor made from graphene, is believed to be the first to be able to detect broad spectrum light, from the visible to mid-infrared, with high photoresponse or sensitivity. This means it is suitable for use in all types of cameras, including infrared cameras, traffic speed cameras, satellite imaging and more. Not only is the graphene sensor 1,000 times more sensitive to light than current imaging sensors found in today’s cameras, it also uses 10 times less energy as it operates at lower voltages. When mass produced, graphene sensors are estimated to cost at least five times cheaper.
