Max Huijgen46,779The 100 most relevant people on G+ you really should check out. It´s impossible to select the people which contributes most to my experience on G+ so I´ll let Google do the dirty work. These 98 people (and 2 pages I helped founding) are the most relevant ones according to Google´s circle sort so they deserve a spot in the Friday sun.  If you´re not in it, be assured I really enjoy your posts and/or comments. I meet a lot of great people here, but this self imposed limit to 100 is just to make it easier for others to circle the whole bunch and check them out.2013-06-21 19:32:111001281559CC G+

Richi Jennings35,347Sunday Circle Share... :: Hello to all the new Plussers I met last week (plus a few I reconnected with).Mainly, these folks are engagers, not passive consumers, so add them if you're looking for interesting conversations here on G+.Also, feel free to share this with your circles. Spread the love! (Or not, as you wish.)For the previous circle: plus.google.com/u/0/117220625678034723010/posts/8k9zberCjcj2013-04-06 23:46:4434129731CC G+
Max Huijgen41,136Europe calling: the old giant wakes up and calls on its peeps! A new circle of Europeans as I promised long ago to connect the people who responded and share them. See for the first shared circle this post https://plus.google.com/112352920206354603958/posts/PDUi13o9dB1The original post was shared 225 times. You can find it here:https://plus.google.com/112352920206354603958/posts/CdhmHGbYjgiPart 2 is still open and can be found here:https://plus.google.com/112352920206354603958/posts/NDAhG4fP2a7If you didn´t do so already, post there and as long as I have spots free, I will circle you as I want to see my streams come alive during European hours. There was a shared feeling that it would be great to get some attention from G+ for Europe with official hangouts from the community managers during European times, feature roll-outs from Google no longer restricted to the US, having some central point to share European circles and last but not least the desire to have hangouts without having to burn the midnight oil. To help solve this and get Europeans together on the same page I created +Europeans on G+  It already has multiple managers out of the community and that initiative recently span off +European Photo  but feel to offer a bit of your time for this community project. Circle the page if you didn´t already do so. We need more peeps from all over Europe to participate and enjoy G+I hope these posts can do the rounds through Europe and gets us firmly on the G+ map. So even if you´re not European yourself, but sympathize with the initiatives to form a community here, help spread the word and share it.And don´t forget: we all love the other continents and most of us have circles which encompass the whole world. So it´s not against others, but pro us :)2013-03-15 15:05:14291532075CC G+

Meilani MacDonald9,454Small business networking circle.  This circle is made up of people who have expressed interest in the TGIF Business Networking Hangout.  Some of them have been guests on TGIF, many have been HOA participants in the peanut gallery, and some have interacted via comments even though they never came in.  They have all expressed interest in small business networking, and many provide valuable services or advice to small business owners. Some are way more active here on G+ than others, but hopefully they will be encouraged to join us here on the plus more often.Basically, it's just a nice circle to add and share with your business networking connections.  If you are not in this circle, but you are a small business owner or entrepreneur who adds this circle, please leave a comment below and introduce yourself and your biz - we are here to do some business networking after all :) #smallbusiness   #networking   #sharedcircles   #TGIF   #MeilaniM   #entrepreneurs   #business  2013-01-30 21:40:198522421CC G+

Amanda Blain2,251,868*500 People Who Hangout Circle*Anytime you see me having a hangout feel free to join in. We use webcam, voice and text chat... (Please get your webcam going though!) and join in the fun conversations. What do we talk about in these hangouts with strangers? Everything and nothing  We talk about todays current events, android vs apple, whats happening on Google+, the price of big macs in your local country, business networking,  tv shows, whatever you want to talk about... To the best of my ability everyone in this circles has personally hungout with me... and it was fun.. :)This circle is where I have made the most lasting connections on G+.... Meeting many of these people in real life since I met them in hangouts. I joined G+ Jun 29th, 2011. I hung out then and pretty much most days since. I was voted Google+ Hangout Queen this year :)I've seen amazing things in hangouts, Tours of far away countries, cooking classes, airplane trips, photowalks, concerts, language lessons, trivia nights, relationship advice, seeing famous landmarks, attending behind the scenes of tv shows, hangouts with famous celebrities, and countless late night and early morning hangouts with fabulous normal people from all parts of the world and right next door... TV shows have nothing on this. Countless experiences all without leaving my living room.If you want to try out hangouts on G+, ADD THIS CIRCLE and join one! These people will have hangouts that you should be able to see and join in on...   People in hangouts are usually really welcoming and nice.. so speak up.. say hi and join us.♥ ♥ Please feel free to share ♥ ♥ps. if you cant add the circle because google says you added too many today.. remove some of the people and try again... :)#googlehangout #hangout #sharedcircles  2012-11-16 03:28:4650010552171CC G+
Max Huijgen27,907A mystery shrouded in an enigma: My Top 99 circle These are the 99 users who are on top of my relevance list and I considered myself quite relevant to myself so I overruled Google there :)Many of these folks are engaging with me through posts or comments, but it´s still a surprise circle. Some people have a magic link thanks to Google´s relevancy algorithm which is a mystery shrouded in an enigma. If anyone has a clue what determines relevancy I would like to know. It´s clear that it´s something like ´interaction * no. of followers as I rarely comment on +Robert Scoble and vice versa. Most of the others are completely understandable, but then again some names are missing..I have removed some people who I know mostly through work related email or don´t post in English and added instead the profiles next in line. Want to create your own?► Click circles on the tab on the right► Make sure relevance is selected (default)► Select the top 99 users. (Drag a box around them)► Drag the whole group to "drop here to create new circle"► The new circle will open up. Make sure its 99 and adjust it if needed► Share it and use the hashtag #top99  and #sharedcircles  #top99   #sharedcircles   #sharedpubliccircles  +Shared Circles on G+  +Nothing but Circles  +Public Circles  +Full Circle  +CircleCount  If you got notified you are one of the 99.2012-07-25 23:37:0699109644CC G+
Craig Froehle4,629467 Plussers Well Worth FollowingSome curated recommendations to make your Tuesday a bit more interesting. I kept this circle largely free of celebrities, pages, and organizations, so these should (nearly) all be actual people. Enjoy!By the way, topic-wise, it's a bit of a potpourri, but with emphasis on technology, science, progressive politics, skepticism, and other fascinating things.Note that I don't always agree with everyone in this circle, so don't take this as an endorsement of their ideas...merely that they tend to be thoughtful when presenting them.2012-07-03 14:29:094671718CC G+
Kyle Beck0So, I know a lot of my friends who have joined +Google+ wonder "What's the point? I have a Facebook." Well that comparison was flawed from the beginning, although many people made it while trying to describe G+. There are similarities, but one of my favorite features in G+ has been the ability to share Circles with others. In fact I'm not sure I would see the point if I hadn't been shared this very circle by +Robert Scoble (IIRC) early on in my G+ membership. It has proven an invaluable source of up-to-the-minute Tech News over the past year and really showed me how G+ is very different from FB.See, when you visit FB the information you receive is solely from your family and real-life acquaintances. This can be great for keeping up with people you don't see regularly, etc., but it is very hard to reach out to new people who share your interests through FB. Not so on G+. You can create and share groups of friends and pages (Circles) to organize your social interests. In effect, this creates dynamic communities where you can choose who you interact with.Anyways, I hope you will consider adding this Circle, packed full of Tech Enthusiasts. If you don't really use G+ or wonder what the point is, that goes double for you!2012-06-30 00:28:364881003CC G+

Sebastian Hiernaux1,505Ever since a popular G member added me to a circle he later shared I have seen my followers grow 100x ... so I'm now doing the same thing.Yesterday I read an article that indicated that G+ gets really interested when your followers reach around 300 ... so I want to help other people enjoy this network as much as I do by sharing and hoping you add them to your circles. This circle I am sharing is full of funny and interesting people... its my "personal favorites" circle.Hope you find it useful...2012-06-05 16:00:01362516CC G+
Max Huijgen24,852Europe calling: the old giant wakes up and calls on its peeps! Part IIAccording to the latest figures 426.9 million Europeans now use the InternetThere is a is feeling that it would be great to get some attention from G+ for Europe with official hangouts from the community managers during European times, feature roll-outs from Google no longer restricted to the US, and last but not least the desire to have hangouts and interaction without having to burn the midnight oil. To help solve this and get Europeans together on the same page I created +Europeans on G+  It already has four managers out of the community but feel to offer a bit of your time if you want to contribute. Circle the page if you didn´t already do so. I also organized a "I will circle you" project. If people commented that they came from Europe I would circle them instead of the other way. The intention was to share this circle back to the community and the first circle of 500 went out. You can find them here https://plus.google.com/112352920206354603958/posts/PDUi13o9dB1Now as promised it´s time for round 2: 300 people and a few European pages. Some very well known, some relatively unknown, but all certified active posters from Europe who will spice up your streams during European hours.Check them out and please share the circle as the intention is to get much more Europeans united!if you were left out while you signed up: my excuses as it´s a tedious job to manage all these circles. I checked all but I am only human :)2012-06-01 14:51:14301893957CC G+
Kevin Medeiros3,101Yeah yeah, this is a huge circle to share. These guys and girls are a bunch of geeks. Geeks of what type you might ask? Well, of all sorts..you'll just have to find out. I've gone through and weeded out some of the inactive users myself in order to stay under the 500 person limit. These guys make up a big portion of my stream and never fail to keep me informed about awesome shit. You may also be asking why I didn't sort them out into sub-geek categories? The answer to that is because I'm not your damn secretary :-)Just check'em out :)2012-05-26 19:20:2947711714CC G+

Robert Scoble1,146,151Here are 500 of my favorite Tech Journalists, bloggers, and pundits. I'm sharing this since I am seeing lots of new people coming over and I'm sure they are looking for some great people to circle here. Unfortunately I can't share everyone that I have in this circle (I have 575 in this circle on my screen, but Google+ only lets me share 500 with you). Lots of interesting tech bloggers and journalists here. Hope you enjoy. This is the circle that starts my morning every day.Speaking of Tech News, I'm off to +VMware. They are announcing new Cloud Foundry stuff this morning. So, you'll probably see some tech news from the folks in this circle.2012-04-11 16:01:035005737106CC G+

Meilani MacDonald1,136So you wanna hangout?I love the hangouts feature and am always looking for more resources of where to find good hangouts, especially ones oriented to business networking. Lo and behold, today I found a shared circle called "great people to hangout with." I added them all to the Hangout circle I already had going, and now I'm going to pass it along . I'm sorry to not post the credit where I found the circle I added today, but I could not find it again. If you want engagement, remember just adding people to your circles in hopes they will add you back isn't enough. Those with the most engagement are themselves engaging, posting and replying in comments. So be engaging :)2012-03-23 21:53:31253554CC G+
Kevin Medeiros2,549This is my circle of geeks. Definitely an active circle that share geeky shit that "others" may not understand, but you do, right?Circle them if you want instant fun. Sebastian Hiernaux0Interesting Plusers CircleI usually don´t share my circles but this one contains around 200 people that I consider to be interesting, funny or both. Most speak English but there are a few Spanish speaking users in there as well. The interesting part is I know none of them personally (those would go in my friends or colleague circles) but are still interesting enough to follow.Hope you find them as interesting as me :)2012-03-21 22:22:07190217CC G+

Mohammad Rahimi599It is always a #pleasure to help others. This can be #helping them with answering to their questions, solving their issues, or suggesting some friends so they can increase their friends and more. I figured out #circle #sharing is a great thing that #Google #Plus has. Some one does the job and #categorize the #individuals in different circle and share it with friends. I have this #circle of 500 people in case you are interested to add them.2012-03-11 05:21:16500201CC G+
Susanne Ramharter3,133Fridays are for sharing circlesto the new people who have put me in their circles: many thanks! Some of you I have already had contact with, to the rest, I would like to reciprocate with this circle. It is hand-picked, and contains people who are funny, intelligent, knowledgeable, and engaged. You will find information about social media, google+, as well as cognitive science, books, travel and art, some agitation against encroaching on civil liberties (SOPA, ACTA, censorship - mostly from me ;-) inspirational as well as snarky things, and yes, the occasional cat. But everyone here is friendly and has great things to contribute, so feel free to share the circle if you like.Have fun!2012-03-09 15:46:5631329919CC G+

Lambert Schlumpf874Circle Shareee! The Interactive CircleI modified a bit the circle shared by +Max Huijgen yesterday afternoon (GMT): few people have been removed because their posts attract thousands of comments and you wouldn't get replies anyway. Plus, I am sure you have already in your circles people like +Trey Ratcliff, +Tom Anderson or +Mike Elgan.I added instead few others who I reckon are more interactive, In the meaning that if you post a direct comment to the author you are very likely going to receive a reply, which is always nice: They are people like +Christy Ramsey, +Paul van de Loo, +Clare Cosgrove, +Yvan Da Silva and others. Some of them are not very famous, but oh, well... they interact! Here the original post, via +Max Huijgen Out of the box into a circle: change your G+ world!http://j.mp/z4s0ZH2012-02-26 09:21:182021708CC G+
Max Huijgen13,212Out of the box into a circle: change your G+ world! The pegs and the holes, the ones who think different, the people who will change your G+ worldA careful selection on relevance, great posts, contributions to debate, original thought and stunning images. If you follow this circle of 200, G+ will never be boring and you are in for a stream of thoughts and beauty. The familiar faces show up, but it contains a large number of hidden gems if you dig deeper. As a circle needs a name: "Think different: the interaction circle" will do very well.Update: The most interesting part is that the circle is part of some experiments: one of them is the daily update. A way to ´subscribe´ to a circle by reading all the post at your leisure. Every day you will see the complete collection on this url:http://publiccircles.appspot.com/dailyplus/z12luh3hjsngtd04y04cetehsvf0x3nbtmc0kOn a dull Saturday this circle managed to create 780 posts and generate 7093 comments, 4842 reshares and 16074 +1's. Check it on a week day and that page will be living proof that G+ is not dead at all. This circle alone generates more posts and comments than you can possibly read on a day. Oh yes, that´s why it´s called the interaction circle ;)2012-02-24 22:38:5920015310285CC G+

Rich Galvan0Happy New Year!Time to share some circles. Feel free to circle back or not. I feel, the more the merrier.I used to be an avid Shortwave radio listener. Hearing news fro other parts of the world always caught my attention. It was fascinating to hear news reporting of world events from "outside the US".I have not gone through my complete contacts to add more people here. It is an ongoing project. If you do live outside the US, please add me to your circle! John Mark Troyer900Here's my weekly share of my virtualization, cloud, and enterprise IT Circle. 415 people are in the Circle. How to use it: just drag onto one of your Circles and Google+ will happily create the union of the two circles - no need to worry about dupes. If you already grabbed it you'll need to grab it again. Google+ just takes a copy of my Circle for this share, so this week's Circle has more people in it that you'll want to add.How I add people: randomly. If you comment on this post, I'll add you. If I recognize your name from Twitter, I'll add you. If you post about VMware, I'll add you. If I'm having a bad day, I might not recognize your name, so please don't be shy and just ask to be added.Ethics of sharing this I'm unclear on the ethics. Most people didn't ask to be in this circle, and some people asked to be removed since they are not using Google+ to talk with strangers like we do on Twitter. My goal is to establish a community here, so I'll keep sharing this for now, but I may stop in the future. What these people share on Google+: anything. They may be IT people, but I did not pick them for their insightful sharing record. You'll get cat pictures and jokes as well as articles and blog posts about IT. That's life.2011-11-10 02:18:33415305CC G+

Amazon, you don't build real lasting success through always trying to have an exclusivity. Be more open, don't suggest for your customers to swim against the tide and you will be more successful by far. Amazon is a data driven company, how come they cannot understand that their Fire strategy is wrong? I guess Jeff Bezos doesn't really decide by data.

Google SIM card.

Pay online. All VOIP. Generates local phone numbers in all countries. Buy data online (data to buy data online is always free).

$1 = 200MB
$10 = 3GB
$20 = 10GB

Use your data whenever you want, no monthly cycle. When you leave a country, you may be able to refund unused data for credit to buy new data in the next country you visit.

Prices per data may differ depending on country and depending on the deals for data which Google can negociate. Some country may block Google entering as Global single SIM card MVNO service, political pressure can then try to unlock the monopoly.

+John C. Dvorak sums up the Microsoft Build press conference of today: Microsoft has decided to give up. Now I wan't to see this thing, or maybe not, I have to see the Amazon Qualcomm S4 box video first if there is one. +Leo Laporte's +vint cerf interview was way too short.

I hate how Microsoft claims with FUD stories that Android makers are paying them a licence for Android, they have never shown any evidence of that.

And it's also ridiculous of Microsoft to suggest it's news for Windows Phone to be free, it has always been free, I don't think you will see them show any evidence any of the Windows Phone makers having paid Microsoft any licencing for Windows Phone. What's new is that Microsoft is now opening up Windows Phone to be used by cheap Shenzhen phone makers for free (and with Microsoft actually paying for PCB design R&D and marketing..),b... more »

My first ever tradeshow video-blog, 10 years and 2 weeks ago. The worlds first ARM tablet (kind of). Archos PMA430. I got crazy enthusiastic about ARM tablets especially Archos in 2002/2003. Archos used an early pre-OMAP solution at 80mhz with DM270 for graphics, Davinci stuff,  a c54x DSP and a vector-engine for video, etc. I think Montavista may have helped Archos optimize Qtopia Linux for it. It took a year for it to get stable enough for release and then I made this unboxing review video: Archos Pma400 video-review 1 by ArchosFans.com (I think I paid $799 plus accessories something like more than $1200 all inclusive for my first 30GB pre-Android WiFi multimedia Tablet!)

Notice this Archos 2004 tablet (first rumored early 2003) had separate usb host and slave, removable battery (I always carried a second fully charged battery to swap) , compact flash for camera/bluetooth/other modules (on... more »

Is this the start of Google giving away a whole bunch of domains for free? They should. .web .blog .site .etc all be given away for free. A process to make sure domains aren't squatted and resold would also make sense. Basically domain ownership transfer should only happen again for free through Google, people can request the transfer of a domain that seems to be unused for a certain period of time.

2014-03-31 22:37:15 (2 comments, 0 reshares, 5 +1s)

Why do people have to pay $10, $15 or $25 per year for a domain name? I'd like to see +Google release most of their new gTLD's for people to use for free! That would really be disruptive to the global domains racket. I think Google should let anyone register for free one of: .web .android .app .blog .book .buy and etc among those 100 top level domain names Google wants to control, Google may have some kind of rule saying "you may only use one of these names, if you use the domain name" otherwise I think Google can warn the user and then take action to release the domain if someone else is asking to use it.

I think these top level domains should be free and Google shouldn't limit the use to be on Google services, for example .blog should work not only for Google Blogger, it must work for Wordpress also, Google can thus partner with any and all Wordpress hostingcompanie... more »

Which are the new Top level domains that are free to register and somehow prevent domain sharks reselling of good names?

Why do we need to pay for top level domains? Is Google and others hosting new top level domains and giving them out for free with a condition that if you take a name, you have to use it for something real otherwise they can take it back and give it to someone else who can use it?

ARM Set-top-box industry overview by Informa analyst. ARM overtakes MIPS in the Set-top-box market as most of the Set-top-box SoC makers are showing ARM solutions, it’s about the ecosystem, about the platform, Android, Google TV, RDK, Wyplay, all of these user interfaces are being optimized for ARM, bringing cheaper and better more advanced and more powerful devices all at the same time. The TV market is bigger than the Web, as people still spend a lot more time watching TV than browsing the web in average. And the new features enabled by ARM, Android and other platforms, enable a lot more video-on-demand and other forms of interactivity on the TV.

South African Kevin Richardson is awesome with Lions and Hyenas, give them their habitat!

Ban the hunting of Lions! The population of lions has dropped from about 350,000 to an estimated 25,000 during a fifteen-year-span. Lion hunts in South Africa garners more than 90 million dollars a year. Between September 2006-September 2007, 16,394 foreign hunters (more than half of whom fly from the U.S.) killed 46,000+ animals. Trophy hunting is worth $91.2 million a year and foreign tourists sometimes pay up to $40,000 to shoot a lion. The government supports hunting because of this revenue and the provincial governments sell permits to kill rhinoceroses, lions, elephants, and giraffes. 1,050 lions were killed in 2008.

There are differences in camera tuning compared to the M7, but by and large captures aren’t really improved. In some cases there’s even a regression thanks to the lack of OIS. +Mary Lou Jepsen's TED talk about thought computing, how higher resolution brain scanning means we'll be able to communicate by thoughts within 5 or 15 years:

"We're going to be able to dump our ideas directly to digital media. Could you imagine if we could leapfrog language and communicate directly with human thought? What would we be capable of then? And how will we learn to deal with the truths of unfiltered human thought? You think the Internet was big. These are huge questions. It might be irresistible as a tool to amplify our thinking and communication skills. And indeed, this very same tool may prove to lead to the cure for Alzheimer's and similar diseases.

We have little option but to open this door. Regardless, pick a year -- will it happen in five years or 15 years? It's hard to imagine it taking much longer. We need to learn how to take this step... more »

Amazon HDMI Stick for Cloud Video-games, which ARM Processor? Full Android? What price?

Tegra K1? Exynos5? Qualcomm's newest Adreno? $49? Free with Amazon Prime upgrade? Would be nice if it can run full Android games with a nice powerful GPU, Android apps, all video and audio contents through Android and also live stream any high-end games through Amazon cloud. Games Cloud-streaming platform would also be available to all other Android devices and be provided as a subscription service like Prime, or perhaps even sell Game streaming bandwidth on-demand $0.1/hour?

Would of course be nice to also be an Android/Chrome OS Desktop computer also built-in because Amazon needs to provide support for that, this Amazon HDMI Stick could be the thin client.

"there's no more silicon in Silicon Valley - it's all iPhone apps." +Mary Lou Jepsen

I want to see hardware and real innovation back into the Silicon Valley! $19 Billion valuation for an app and $172 Billion valuation for a php script (facebook) is Uber ridiculous!

I look forward seeing this app and social network bubble burst.

Ongoing activity on the Energy Aware Scheduler Linaro and ARM engineers talk about their current activities to integrate power management into the Linux scheduler. By integrating cpuidle and cpufreq mechanisms into the scheduler, they hope to work with the community to create an energy-aware scheduler as an alternative to the current performance-oriented scheduler. This work will require improvements in other parts of the scheduler such as better description of processor topology, load estimation in the scheduler and better tools to measure the performance impact of changes to the scheduler.
