Here's a new Luangwa photo of a zebra backlit at sunset. The quality of light at this time of year is unbelievable!

I’ve just returned from another brief Luangwa trip. It is still very watery in the park. Here’s a shot of some puku standing by a lagoon at dusk.

Here’s a new +BeetleCam shot of a family of elephants in South Luangwa. I took this as a spectacular storm was building up overhead. I was in an open vehicle, more than an hour’s drive from camp and sticking around for this shot resulted in a comprehensive drenching! Fortunately my gear has now dried out and seems to still be in working order :)

Wild dogs at last!
This is an image I've dreamt of getting for a long, long time! African wild dogs photographed with BeetleCam! I have spent the last three months trying to track down these elusive canines. Earlier this month my patience was finally rewarded when I found this pack in a remote corner of South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. There may be fewer than 5,000 of these beautiful animals left in the wild.
Want to look for wild dogs yourself? I am currently giving away an amazing luxury safari in South Luangwa National Park worth over $10,500! To find out more, visit: http://bit.ly/safari-giveaway

Croc
Every now and then I become completely obsessed with trying to get a certain shot. In Ethiopia I spent a week trying to get this wide-angle shot of a giant mole rat: http://b-l.me/1xu
Recently, while staying at Luwi camp in South Luangwa, I was determined to get a wide-angle, close-up shot of a crocodile coming out of the water. It turns out this is easier said than done as crocs are crafty and cautious – and they didn’t like the look of BeetleCam one bit! I spent 4 days waiting for my opportunity and to my relief I eventually managed to get this shot. The light is a little harsh for my liking but it will do for now!

Here's one of the first ever leopard photographs taken with BeetleCam! This is a beautiful 9-month-old cub. Thankfully, she was not quite as rough as her lion counterparts! :)

Last week I managed to get up to South Luangwa National Park for a few days. It is a beautiful park and I had a fantastic time staying with The Bushcamp Company.
BeetleCam took this lovely shot of a mother and calf elephant. I also achieved something rather exciting... for the first time ever, I managed to photograph a leopard with BeetleCam! Who wants to see the results? :)

Tail Catch
Here’s another cute photo from the +Ethiopian Wolf Project. These young wolf pups from the Meggity Pack were playing energetically. Training my lens on them as they dashed around was not an easy task! Fortunately I managed to capture this shot just as one caught the other’s tail :)

Blue Iguana
I’m back from the Cayman Islands! I had a great time discovering the islands’ wildlife. One of the highlights was photographing the wonderful Grand Cayman Blue Iguanas. These lizards are critically endangered; in 2003 fewer than 15 animals remained in the wild. However, thanks the efforts of the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme, every year around 100 young iguanas are released back into the wild. I photographed this free-roaming adult male in the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park.

Here's another shot from the Ethiopian Wolf Project. These were the four pups of the Meggity Pack. Here they are having a boisterous game that involves one pup running for its life while the others all chase after it!
In recent years, diseases transmitted by domestic dogs have reduced the number of adult animals in the Meggity Pack from more than twenty to just two. As these four pups grew and required more food, the two overworked adults were unable to provide enough and as a result, at least two of these pups have now died :(

Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey
I have just returned from China where I spent several days photographing endangered Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkeys. This photograph shows a young monkey eating fresh leaf buds.
These monkeys live in the foothills of the Himalayas, between 3,000 and 4,500 metres above sea level. They experience frost for around 280 days of the year and often contend with snow more than a metre deep. They live higher than any other primate except for man and inhabit precipitous, thickly-forested slopes... as a result photographing them proved to be very hard work!
