An old man had a habit of early morning walks on the beach. One morning after a storm, he saw a human figure in the distance. As he came closer he saw that it was a young woman who was steadily picking up starfish from the sand and very gently throwing them into the ocean.

As he drew near the girl, he asked her what she was doing.

“I’m throwing starfish into the ocean,” she replied.

“Well, I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?”

With the greatest of sorrow I, +su ann lim , have to inform you that Jonathan Christopher Kendall, my fiancé and love of my life, died suddenly last night on 15 June 2013. Despite the incredible efforts of our friends +Suzanne Jacob +Gaynal Brierley , paramedics and ambulance personnel he could not be revived.

Jonathan lived as he believed, telling it like it is, with wit and humour, enjoying life to the hilt, with honour, directness and compassion. I was incredibly blessed to be the recipient of his immense love, and as each other's beloved, to share unbelievable happiness for too short a time. I jumped into a pool with my SGS3 in my pocket yesterday. I kept it in rice all afternoon/night/morning but it crackled like mad when I tried to boot it up.

My friend had talked me into getting the BestBuy mobile service plan when I traded in my iPhone for the SGS3. It's $10/month and she was insistent it was worth it.

So today, I took my drownded phone to the BestBuy Mobile in the mall. I now have a loaner phone (HTC something or other with haptic touch that I'm not crazy about) and I'm getting a new SGS3 to replace the drownded one in about 3 days. For no charge.

It's the only service plan for phones I know of that covers water damage.

You can grab Fable III for free right now on Xbox.com. Go to "download to my 360". It will show up as $19.99. Don't buy it. Instead, choose "use microsoft points" and it will come up listed as free. Confirm your purchase and it'll download to your Xbox next time you turn it on.

Not sure if this was a massive error on their part, or part of the promotional stuff we'll see when they show off Fable Anniversary and possibly announce Fable IV later today... Either way. Happy downloading.

So Sunday, while +Jay Stevens and I were at Magic Kingdom, we decided to ride the People Mover in Tomorrowland to rest our feetsies. In order to get to the elevated ride, you have to go up a moving sidewalk.

We'd only moved about 10 feet when the moving sidewalk suddenly stopped. The people at the top of the ramp went ahead and stepped off, but rest of the people who'd been "riding" ahead of us literally looked around in confusion as if to say "What do we do now?"

So naturally, I blurted out "WALK. It has suddenly become a RAMP." Jay literally laughed out loud.

I honestly wonder, if I hadn't said anything, how long it would have taken for someone to decide it was okay to walk up the non-moving ramp. #smh

In case you wondered about the origin of the "Keep Calm" meme.

Keep Calm and Carry On was a motivational poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of the Second World War, intended to raise the morale of the British public in the aftermath of widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities. It had only limited distribution with no public display, and thus was little known.

The poster was rediscovered in 2000, has been re-issued by a number of private companies, and has been used as the decorative theme for a range of products. It was believed there were only two known surviving examples of the poster outside government archives until a collection of 15 originals was brought in to the Antiques Roadshow in 2012 by the daughter of an ex-Royal Observer Corps member.
