I got the answer today. Lots of people asked me why 'PHP' is 'Hypertext Pre-processor'. Shouldn't it be 'Pre Hypertext Processor' cause P = Pre, H = Hypertext, P = Processor. But today I even didn't know about this.
But today I got the answer from http://www.php.net/manual/en/faq.general.php#faq.general.acronym and that is completely true.

[Actual Explanation: PHP stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor. This confuses many people because the first word of the acronym is the acronym. This type of acronym is called a recursive acronym]

For Beginners:
In this lesson we will continue covering error handling in more detail and demonstrate a couple of different methods to handle errors and exceptions. Many developers tend to over look testing and debugging but you are a programming ninja who will lead the next generation of software developers. And you never cut corners do you?

Wordpress use mysql_* exension? Isn't it strange where mysql_* is going to be deprecated. Also Rasmus Lerdorf himself wrote it.

Instead doing all things I can't use OpenDNS in my UBUNTU desktop

I wanted to use Open DNS solution in my UBUNTU PC. Also I followed their instruction from https://store.opendns.com/setup/operatingsystem/ubuntu but it's still saying I am not using Open DNS that means configuration was wrong. But I can't understand what's wrong.

My UBUNTU version: UBUNTU 12.04 LTS

Output of sudo /etc/resolv.conf + Output of sudo vim /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf + output of sudo ifconfig http://paste.ubuntu.com/5557006/

It would be great if anyone can see my problem and suggest me to do right things.

To get information of Client's user-agent (Browser) did you ever looked get_browser() native PHP function? It's more handy than our custom made.
Usage:
<?php
echo $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] . "\n\n";

$browser = get_browser(null, true);
print_r($browser);
?>

Output:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3

Do you know about ALM (Application LifeCycle Management)? I read about it yesterday night on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_lifecycle_management .

But actually I was just confused when I finish reading. Actually what should be the standard lifecycle of a PHP driven web application? Just I want to know your experiences and suggestions. Thanks in advance!!

At last by replacing it has been solved but besides this may be I am going to add another skill in my career that is called "BASH Programming" a.k.a bash script for UNIX Operating system. This is holy crappy!!

I am facing a problem that is about implementing complex custom query inside CakePHP paginator component.

My query is

$sql = "SELECT *, ((ACOS(SIN(23.75006 * PI() / 180) * SIN(`geo_lat` * PI() / 180) + COS(23.75006 * PI() / 180) * COS(`geo_lat` * PI() / 180) * COS((90.38667 - `geo_long`) * PI() / 180)) * 180 / PI()) * 60 * 1.1515) AS distance FROM `offers` HAVING distance <=10 ORDER BY distance ASC LIMIT 0,6";

$QueryData = $this->Offer->query($sql);

How I can implement the above query inside Pagination?

CakePHP - PHP Framework

2013-02-05 23:19:07 (23 comments, 0 reshares, 2 +1s)

Which one is best for writing function name?
1.
function multipleWords()
{
   // logics
}

2.
function MultipleWords()
{
    // logics
}

3.
function multiple_words()
{
   //logics
}

According to PSR-1 may be multipleWords() is good. But in http://www.php.net/manual/es/ref.spl.php PHP itself is using multiple_words() though methods of PDO ( http://www.php.net/manual/es/book.pdo.php ) is using multipleWords() style.

So basically I am confused over this. Let's discuss what's really considered as best practices..

*[just for best practices]

+--------+--------+-----+----------+
| meta_id | username | score
+---------+--------+-----+----------+
|        3    | c        |    75 |
|        5    | e        |    55 |
|        6    | f         |    80 |
+--------+--------+-----+----------+

In that above MySQL result I want to get the row number of e (Username)... It should return 2. Because e is in 2nd position. So in this case what should be the query to get the row position (i.e: 1st row, 2nd row, 3rd row) of any Username?

Google+ Is Now the #2 Largest Social Network In The World

A recent report by Global Web Index has revealed that +Google+ has now surpassed Twitter in active users!

This quick graphic I created only shows the numbers for Facebook, Google+, and Twitter, although Technically +YouTube was considered #3 and Twitter came in at #4.

If anyone has yet to see the value in Google+ as a platform to build an audience for their business or brand, they seriously need to re-think some things.

[HT +Rahul Roy and +martin shervington for making me aware of the original report: http://dustn.ws/10Zjkjl]
