Mz Maau10,204I rarely share circles, and I regret to inform, this is not the promised #CircleDirk , rather, it's a circle I've been semi-maintaining since last spring, when it was created for +Pierce Arner to jump-start his Plus experience.Today, I'm resharing the current version on behalf of +Søren Dalsgaard Brath, who, like Pierce, is looking for new content for his stream.I figure he and I probably have a chunk of overlap, so I've added a few extras he might not yet know about. Some notes about the curation of this circle:I've tried to set aside those who have not posted recently, and I've tried to only include those who post publicly, or to extended circles.  I may have missed a few, and if you're in this circle and would like to be permanently removed, please let me know. This is not the final version, as I'm not sure such a thing is possible. This circle DOES come with a warning:You will, most likely, NOT enjoy everyone in this circle.  I, like many, have eclectic tastes, and I'm still a bit gun-shy after seeing some of the explosions from last year's crossing of the streams, so PLEASE, edit this circle to your liking with that in mind.If I ping you, you're in the circle.  There is no expectation or requirement to add this circle, it's merely a courtesy ping.  Again, if you would like to be removed from any future circle shares, please let me know. And yes, I promise, I'm still working on the #CircleDirk .Also note:  This is NOT an indication of who I like best, though some are included in this circle.  It is simply meant to be a sample of the diversity I follow.#PinkAndFluffyPersonsOfQuestionableRepute2013-06-22 16:38:09164143576CC G+

Chris Mallory18,416Here's a circleThese people have nothing in common but they all have monochrome profile pictures (at the time of this circle share). I don't even know who half of the people in this circle are so I can't vouch for all of them, but I can vouch for some of them, so if you like shared circles you should definitely add this circle. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe if you like what you see!2013-04-07 22:07:031008114CC G+

Mz Maau2,163Ok, so, this is the promised revision of a circle I threw together in about 5 minutes for +Pierce Arner. I know, it's been at least a week or two since I promised to update and post it, and I'll be honest, my editing of the circle has been about a 15 minute affair, because I finally realized it will never be as perfect as I want it to be.So, if you're getting a notification, you're in the circle. There's another 30ish folks I'll tag in comments, so they're aware of it. Yes, I've lost track of the originating post. Sorry. As for the edits, well, I mostly rounded it out a bit. The original request was for sci-fi geekery, and I've thrown in some photographers I like, and some humourists, and a few random other folk.If you're not in this circle, don't be offended, it was built with an express intent, and I've been pretty scattered, so I expect I'm missing a good chunk of folks. Unfortunately. You can always make future edit requests on this post.Thank you for your time, and patience, and excellence!2012-05-19 22:59:03132184154CC G+

Wilco Wings1,54204.83 Printed Circuit Board NewsIf you're interested to be in this circle's next update, leave a comment. You can also suggest people for this circle.Well, let's try something new here...When you start at Google+, you get a couple of default circles, and when I think back, I had no clue what to do with it. I read a lot of tuts about circle management etc. Started over a few times (bad habit), but it didn’t really worked out for me.I tried to get a number of people interested in Google+ by demonstrating it on the screen. I noticed how confused they were.So I started over with my circle management again, now with a different approach. I took all my interests in my daily live, converted them into interest circles. When I demonstrate Google+ to people now, I don’t see those confused looks anymore, must done something right here. Most Google+ users keep there circle management for themselves (I noticed). I’m going to do the opposite here, I’m gonna share more than 40 interest circles, handpicked (except the Galaxy Nexus circle and the Chromebook circle, these are started by others shared circles).2012-02-28 22:25:3698000CC G+

Ok, for all you nerds out there; I made this program for my Raspberry Pi (portions taken from http://blog.chrysocome.net/2013/04/graphing-inputs-of-pcf8591.html ) that uses a PCF8591 AD DA chipset I2C board and a light sensor to give a visual graph of current light.

So; now that I'm into the Raspberry Pi ... I can't help but wonder if I should delve into the world of Arduino or not... I know the difference between the two (and I like how the Arduino has analogue inputs) but I'm not quite sure about (and I'm guessing this part; I really don't know) having to only run one program on it at a time.  i.e. I'd hate to run a program just to see if it works or not then try again...

One of the most useful articles I have seen about embracing the density-independent pixel when developing for Android. It is simpler to design for the proliferation of Android devices than you may think.

I'm new to all this "youtube" stuff; and I'd like to record what I'm typing without having to have a stupid camera fixed on the monitor.  Surely there's a Linux app out there that'll A) run on a Raspberry Pi B) record my console (I refuse using X) and everything I type so later in editing I could have a split screen of what I type and what you see on the Pi / LED/ etc.

And now ladies and gentlemen, I will attempt to pull an Android "client" app that connects to my Raspberry Pi via a usb wifi so I can control various relays / sensors out of a hat.

Along with my DVK511 board (which I am loving), one of the boards that came with it is a SPI interfaced AT45DBXX DataFlash Board  it came with some sample source code, and via microscope I was able to read AT45DB041D. With the code I was able to write and read data from the board but I'm having a really hard time understanding A) the usefulness of 4MB of non-volatile memory. B) what do the 5 pins (with yellow plastic) for and C) do I really even need to mess with this card? Here's a PDF of the chip/board PDF for AT45DB041D

First time at cross-compiling a Linux kernel for the Raspberry Pi.  Gotta add some module support for an I2C board and a touch screen.

So, I know Chrome syncs bookmarks with other chrome browsers you have (be it different OSes or on your phone) but if you login to Google from, oh let's say Midori on a Raspberry Pi, can you get to these bookmarks?

Coming from a RedHat/Fedora/Centos user, getting thrown into debian / ubuntu has it's challenges.  I've found the following to be of quite use.

Redhat: rpm - qlp packagename <-- lists files in a package
Debian: dpkg - L packagename

RH: yum search file   <-- shows what package
DB: apt-cache search file

RH: rpm - qip packagename  <-- gives info on the package name
DB: apt-cache show packagename

RH: rpm - qf  /usr/bin/top  <-- tells what package name that file is in
DB: dpkg-query - S /bin/bash
