My friends Brown Bird need your help...
My friend MorganEve Swain and her fiance Dave Lamb make up the incredible musical duo Brown Bird.  (I was lucky enough to have MorganEve play fiddle on my new album!)  These are two incredible musicians who pour their hearts and souls into their music and make their living SOLELY from touring.  Given that they are independent artists they have NO health insurance.  A few days into their most recent tour, Dave was diagnosed with Leukemia and they were forced to cancel all of their shows.  Now, Dave not only faces a scary and tough road to recovery involving chemo and hospital stays...but he also faces unimaginable medical bills.  If you can, please show your support, share, donate to their fundraiser (link below), pray and send love to Dave and MorganEve.  I really appreciate your help.  XO

69 years ago today 150,000 allies forces crossed the English Channel and made a costly beachhead on France at Normandy.  Thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen died.  A hundred thousand held the beach and continued the push into Axis-controlled Europe that had begun with the invasion from the south into Italy, and the east into Poland.

One day 69 years ago changed the world.  It's worth remembering.

The link is to a site that contains a comprehensive MP3 library of radio broadcasts starting with D-Day and the first reports, which came from Germany, not the Allies; a testament to the secrecy of the Allied mission!

This is about the funniest explanation of regional dialects in the United States I've ever seen. I say 'hoagie' so you can see exactly where I live on one of the maps. If they did a survey for the pronunciation of water (I say 'wadder') and dog (I say 'dawg') you would be looking at New Jersey again!

Some days I think I want truth, justice, a world where people are given dignity and offer it to their fellows, where the bad guys fall and the good guys triumph.  You know, big stuff.

But then, I realize that all I ever really wanted was what I actually need:  a friend.
