Big Banks Merging Into A Corrupt Oligopoly.
One of the most frightening aspects of society today is how much control the banking giants have over not just America, but the world. Through a conservative scheme of deregulation, killing enforcement of regs, and ignoring anti-trust laws, banks have tightened their tyrannical grip over the financial system in the US.
+Mother Jones (who designed the chart below) reports: The nation's 10 largest financial institutions hold 54 percent of our total financial assets; in 1990, they held 20 percent. All the while prosecutions for fraud by the #banksters has been slashed to 1/3rd of what it once was.

"In recent decades, corporate tax revenue has plunged, falling from about 6 percent of gross domestic product in the 1950?s to less than 2 percent today, due to a proliferation of corporate tax breaks and the use of offshore tax havens. According to the Congressional Budget Office, in fact, corporate tax receipts as a share of corporate profits have hit their lowest point in 40 years:
Corporate tax receipts as a share of profits are at their lowest level in at least 40 years.
Total corporate federal taxes paid fell to 12.1% of profits earned from activities within the U.S. in fiscal 2011, which ended Sept. 30, according to the Congressional Budget Office. That’s the lowest level since at least 1972. And well below the 25.6% companies paid on average from 1987 to 2008.

There is at least one fact about Earth's climate that is not in dispute: Increased levels of greenhouse gases cause the Earth to warm in response. In addition, the U.S. Department of Energy estimates that humans are responsible each year for emitting nearly 6,000,000,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, a common greenhouse gas generated by burning fossil fuels.
According to NASA, "Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position." The evidence is compelling - rising sea levels, global ocean and land temperature increase, shrinking ice sheets, more extreme events, and increased ocean acidification.

Seriously, if it were labeled in America, would you buy GMO foods? Forget the ecological consequences, modified pollen, terminator seeds... and even crappy taste of GMO products... let's consider price...
Now, if you say NO, are you consuming only organic products? Wouldn't make too much sense to oppose GMO and not to prefer organic...

The Venn Diagram of Irrational Nonsense [The Reason Stick] The curiously revered world of irrational nonsense has seeped into almost every aspect of modern society and is both complex and multifarious. Therefore rather than attempt a comprehensive taxonomy, I have opted instead for a gross oversimplification and a rather pretty Venn Diagram. In my gross over simplification the vast majority of the multitude of evidenced-free beliefs at large in the world can be crudely classified into four basic sets or bollocks. Namely, Religion, Quackery, Pseudoscience and the Paranormal.
