Yahoo! might buy Hulu

Dayum +Marissa Mayer is a on a shopping spree! Rumors are that #hulu  might be the next acquisition target for Yahoo. Along with Tumblr this would really be in line with the sort of "media-centric" Yahoo I would envision. Plus, they'd be picking up a lot of talent along the way.

It amazes me people still listen to this ass-hat. He continually makes statements like the one in this video, ".. doesn't have to be nefarious. We are not fighting flesh and bone, we are fighting the forces of spiritual darkness. It doesn't matter what peoples intent are... but I'll tell you... that was there for a reason." 

So Glenn, can I call you Glenn or should I stick with Mr Asshat? ok so Mr. Asshat... how could it both not matter what the intent was (aka it was nefarious) and you know it was there for a reason? I suppose  the tornado was all part of the environmentalists’ plan to make God look evil, right? (or is that too Westboro?!)

Catholic Church Backtracks - Sorry atheists. You're going to hell afterall

HOLY SNOT! Lego built a 1:1 scale model of the X-Wing using 5,335,200 bricks! It's lifesize... as in you (and your astromech) would fit in it!!!!

"This model uses more than five million pieces and it's 11-feet tall and 43 feet long, with a 44-foot wingspan. That's just like the real X-Wing and 42 times the size of the commercial Lego set."

The only difference is that the engines light up and make sound, oh and that it's friggen HUMAN SIZED! Gizmodo has a shitton more images and where you can go to see it.

Help Rebuild Schools hit by an EF-5 tornado!

I'm a big supporter of +DonorsChoose.org and they're currently accepting donations to help rebuild schools in Moore, Oklahoma.

On May 20, 2013 the city of Moore, Oklahoma was hit by an EF-5 tornado. Two schools were completely destroyed and more have been affected.

When teachers in Moore are ready, we will help them create classroom recovery projects for critical supplies such as clothing, food, books, therapy resources and classroom furniture. These teachers know best what their students need, and we can empower them to rebuild their classrooms.

Video Game Violence Correlation - it's the temp of your video card that causes violence!

Korean site Inven reports that the professor's study apparently revealed that a game's graphics card temperature was 36°C when idling. The card's temperature apparently increased to 45°C during a racing game. But then, Professor Cho's study stated that when a "violent game" was played, the temperature supposedly shot up to 57°C. In turn, the game emitted more radio waves. So... What's Hot is that friggen graphic card temperature and that it the  increase in resulting radio waves are harmful and cause violence.

Crowdsourcing help request: Ubuntu on MacBook Pro
Can anybody help with this? I picked up a 17" MacBook Pro on the cheap (even cooler I'm getting to try before I buy). I want to run Linux on it but I'm having some problems and hope some *nix dudes out there can offer advice. 


 It's a 2.9 Core 2 Duo, 8g memory, GeForce 9600, 300g drive, 10.8.3 OS, etc. So some background. I've had a MBP before and after giving it a year i decided that I loved the hardware but really didn't like OSX. So I got rid of it. I happened across one on the cheap and though I could just make it my Linux box. I've got VMware running Ubuntu but it eventually gets so hot (even with the fans on full blast) that the VM bonks out (one time the whole laptop shut down). I'm talking like use here, not video rendering or anything.
