So glad that I responded to +Tarah Gaa's  Google+ request for west coast real estate photographers.  She is that rare combination of highly professional and a LOT of fun to work with (and she let me grab a photo while we were waiting for the twilight.)  I learned so much when she flew out for our first shoot--excellent experience.  Thanks, Tarah.

The creative process is classically described (Wallas, 1926) as preparation  
  incubation > illumination > verification

Businesses often describe the process as 
  research > development > execution

These models suggest a tidy, linear structure
  beginning > middle > end

Simple sequences sound manageable, even predictable. They promise tasks we can schedule and budget. That makes them appealing to people who run organizations and worry about minimizing uncertainty and risk. But the creative process resists planning; it’s not a recipe, script, or formula. (How could it be?) 
In practice, the process is messy, iterative, and recursive.

 *Photographers, I'm looking for you!* Well, some of you anyway. ;)

I was recently hired as the website content specialist for a high-end real estate company named UDR (www.UDR.com). What does this mean? I'm taking over the photography, video and social media content for all of our websites. W00t!

I've begun working on strategy, planning and budget for 2013. We will be photographing around 40-50 communities this coming year, but we're also working on several projects including photographing specific amenities of around 20 additional communities in the coming months (for a new feature on our website), and a completely revamped social strategy that includes local writers, photographers and even videographers (local = relative to specific communities/areas as we are a nationwide company).

Who here has had experience with CMSs that can handle incredible amounts of data/assets? My company is currently using a CMS called Ektron, and it in no way is what anyone needs it to be. We were recommended Umbraco. Any other suggestions, pros/cons??

I've shared my photographers circle on Google+ two times now.

Once when it got to 500 and then again when it got to 1,000. Today my circle hit 1,500 so I'm sharing them again.

I have to break them up into 500 person circles because this is the limit on Google+. Also Google limits the number of people you can add to circles per day so I'm going to publish my kick ass photographers circle over 3 days. Today I'm publishing A-G. Tomorrow I'll publish G-O. Friday I'll publish P-Z. By last name.

And here are a few pics from the after-party we had at this guy's house who is a huge Flohr collector. He has six originals. You can see one in the background of one of the pictures. This guy's house was sweet! It has been featured in a few architectural and design magazines. We played bowling in the basement. The guy in the white shirt is Michael's publisher.

And yes, the wine pic is the first handful of bottles we went through during the evening. If you know anything about wine, you know this was not an inexpensive night. I'm still giddy about it. :)
