Growing In Grace

Many people know they don't need to work for salvation but they fail to realize that we must work because of salvation.

It was the last stop on our visit to Hearst Castle. As I made my way down to what seemed like an enormous warehouse-like building, I could already hear the noisy rumbles of the shuttle waiting to take us back. Time was running out....

But as soon as I entered the building, it just seemed as though time stopped. The cacophony of noises outside subsided to a whimpered whisper. And in that ensuing calm, all the tourists around me were soaking the scene that lay in front of them: a beautiful pool with a mirror-like surface bathed in a hues of royal blue and faded gold, a pool fit for a king.

I could already see the people around me envisioning a gilded era, an era in which they were the kings and queens, and spending a relaxing afternoon swimming around the pool while maids waited for their every wish.

Last week I went down to the beach after sunset to snap some shots of the lighthouse in Bunbury. A street light to the left helped lighting up the foreground.
Haven't done much night photography, definitely going to try some more in the future, it's quite fun :) Hope you like this one.

Burning Canberra

As I watched the sunset this afternoon, the sky appeared to burn a brilliant red due to smoke in the air from a nearby fire hazard reduction burn happening in the ranges around Canberra.

The rich hues in the sky filled me with awe and I couldn't help but think of the passion and drive that got me into photography some 13 years ago. Today my passion runs deeper than it has at any other time.

Did you know if you are using Chrome as a browser you can right-click on the black bar at the top, then select translate to english? Works for me here in the USA quite dandy.

The fella in the white doesn't know Tom Hanks, never met never will.

Tom was sitting at the bar with his friend having a few beers, when he noticed this guy passed out, he went over to see if he was ok noticed the guys mobile phone was on the table shot off a few pics and left the guy passed out and put the phone in the guys pocket.

Seriously can you imagine finding this on your phone after a drunken night out ???

Looking Right Past Us

This leopard had been intently scouting for prey from her termite mound vantage point, but she gave us a quick look just before she took off. We were very luck with our wildlife spottings on our trip to Africa. This one is from Londolozi Camp in South Africa, on the border of Kruger National Park.

Golden light
The Black-backed Jackal, also known as the Silver-backed or Red Jackal, is a species of jackal which inhabits two areas of the African continent separated by roughly 900 km. One region includes the southern-most tip of the continent including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The other area is along the eastern coastline, including Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia. Although the most lightly built of jackals, it is the most aggressive, having been observed to singly kill animals many times its own size.
