More than any other reason, this is why you should do two things:
1) Secure your lockscreen.
2) Turn on Instant Upload (and set it to upload over WiFi and your Data network) on your Google Account.
These two things would have avoided a good chunk of the hullabaloo here.
* The video evidence would have been automatically uploaded to the cloud.
* The phone would be locked for at least long enough for you to get home and make a copy of the original video.
* You would know if the police had conducted a potentially illegal search of your ('locked container', is the term) phone, if the video (or other data) was missing from the phone when you got it back.

Researchers from Université de Bretagne-Sud, France enlisted the assistance of a young "good looking" male volunteer. He was asked to approach 300 young women on the street, tell them he thought they were pretty and ask for their number. During 100 of the encounters he carried a guitar, another 100 times a gym bag and the other 100 times nothing at all.
Results Women gave their number to the young man 31 percent of the time when he was holding a guitar, but only 14 percent of the time when he was carrying nothing. When he was holding a gym bag, he got a number just 9 percent of the time._

When I was in 6th grade on career day I dressed up super nice. I had on my "Sunday" clothes, purple silk shirt and khaki pants, my hair was perfect. Which took a lot of time because I had an awkward cowlick that pointed out the back of my head. I am sitting there in class and we were going around sharing what it is we will be when we grow up. I had no clue. I was so concerned with what I was going to be that day. My turn to share came. I blurted out "Model" and in return I hear a classroom of laughter.
Had that just been an idea that I wanted to pose for magazines or was it a more provocative point of view of what I truly wanted to be when I grew up...a model? Someone that others aspire to be and creates a feeling of inspiration. I didn't run home and tell my mom to help me fulfill that dream. My completely half baked Nanowrimo draft that I put up on Smashwords in all it's horrific disasterzone icky first draftness (from a promo that Smashwords had in conjunction with Nano last year) GOT A REVIEW...
...and it wasn't...terrible...exactly?
story has promise. the author's thoughts that have been included do make it a bit of a struggle, Too many "familiar charactor/actors names" but look forward to reading more.
would have given it more stars if the story line had had more fluidity.
The "author's thoughts" were me padding word count with stream of conciousness crap because I'd hit a roadblock, but still needed to forge ahead. chortling
Looks like I need to revisit Tomahawk Jackson, The Early Years again.

I think we need to get Firefly more integrated into society. I propose we start using Firefly-isms in daily speech. I resolve to use "shiny" in place of "that's neat" (or equivalent) as much as I can. I'm also trying to learn Firefly Chinese...it's tricky, but I already have "dammit" and "shut-up". Also "mei mei" (little sister...but I have no little sister to use it on!). Working on getting "panda piss" right. Having Chinese coworkers helps.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is quite a bit more enjoyable than it would appear to be on the surface.
Doubly so when you get it for 50% off on a Steam Sale.
The best feature is the in-game/in-truck radio, that allows you to tune in to 140+ radio stations from around Europe. I was sad when one of the two .RU stations was playing stuff like 3 Doors Down and Papa Roach. On the other hand, OUI Radio from Paris was everything awesome thing you could imagine it to be, and more.
