A 49 second long slideshow of some favorites from last year. It is a slideshow that is similar to speed dating. Don't look at any individual photo for too long.

It is dawn, around 5 AM, the Sun has not yet risen, it is Sunday, and I am out standing in the middle of a corn field. I am looking hoping that the sunrise is spectacular with clouds on the horizon painted orange, red, or yellow by that globe that is being too lazy waking up. Am I impatient? Heck yes! I have a mental image in my head and I am trying to create mimic it. And it has to happen now!
Hello. My name is Wray. And I have a disease. I am a photographer. I think there is a 12 point program out there for addicts like me, but I have not found it yet and not sure that I want to. But if you have a similar desire disease and feel the need to share your pain, +Google Plus is the meeting place.

Happy Father's Day
This is a snapshot of my Father on April Fool's Day. We use to meet up every Saturday at a restaurant for breakfast. I made up a little stick that said "April Fools" on it and had the restaurant owner put it in the omelet Dad always ordered. He said that it was best tasting breakfast he had in a long time.

Sis and Grandad
In this shot, my Granddad would have been in his mid forties, younger than I am now. I don't look that old, do I?
;-)
Granddad had the biggest nose. It kept growing but he stopped. He was only 5 foot 4, 140 pounds. But in my eyes, he was a gentle giant!

Okay, there are a lot of shots of dandelion seedings. But have you ever seen one with a Mohawk?

What are you going to do today that could be called "play"?

Dead Tree, suggested Crop
Not to long ago, I read a pompous individual who said that they do not crop their pictures. Well, I am glad that they have a healthy opinion of their work. I, myself, know that that my photos are not finished when I click the button.
Oops. Did that sound opinionated? It wasn't meant to.
;-)
How about you, do you edit your photos, post process?

I am truly sorry but did someone spike my coffee this morning? I am finding all of these stories that I like and want to share them with ya'll.
And here is a link to an invention that might change the world of photography: http://goo.gl/4ijHH
Once again I apologize for all of the links this morning. It must be the coffee.

Wild Blue Pink
This is truly a macro but because of the backdrop it sure don't look like one. The little wild flowers where less than the size of a dime, and had this bluish pink color to them that is indescribable so I'll show them to ya.
See?

Double Bow
From what I heard, this double rainbow was seen over two hundred miles away.
When I see a spectacular Rainbow, I recall a favorite story of mine; Genesis 9:8-17 (http://goo.gl/dbw8e)

Neon Disaster
If ya see two of these neon fuzzies, you have a photo opportunity. If ya see twenty of these bugs you have colorful yet sick tree/plant. If ya see two hundred of these incorrigible vermin, you might as well plan a trip to town to pickup and replace the plant they just devoured.

Don't tread on Me
“Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Thy Kingdom Come
As a kid, reciting those prayerful words, I conjured up thoughts of a blissful place that satisfied my every whim. As I grew, I maintained that theological definition for most of my life. Until a few years ago, in fact.
One weekend I attended a biblical study in which the professor stated that the Hebrew word for “Kingdom” could and sometimes does translate as “Reign”. That slight translation difference really throws my childhood thoughts about the Lord's prayer from childish self absorption into presumably more adult concerns for other wishes.
What about you, what do you think of when you hear or recite the phrase, “Thy Kingdom Come”?

SOOO
If there is a SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) then I propose that there should be a SOOO (Straight Out Of Oven)! I am sorry to report that not all of the models in this photo survived. One fell to hunger. And another on is on a similar path.

I think this is only the 3rd time I have shared a circle in the (almost) 2 years. I call this my Interesting circle because these are the folks that respond on my stream (do you believe folks actually do that?). They are engaging, great photographers, and most importantly friendly interesting souls! I think you will like this circle.

Bow
Yowsers, the other day we had quite the weather change up. We had sunshine, we had hail. We had rain, we had warm dry winds. We even had those clouds that look like tornadoes. But we also had us a rainbow to finish it all up with.
While reading the news this morning, I came across a blog that made my mind wander. Since my brain was getting a little exercise anyway, I decided to play with the rainbow photo. So I did a touch of painting and lowered the opacity of that layer, and … I had fun!
Take your imagination out for a spin today.
Now, go play!

Dawn's Kiss
There is a part of photography that surely lacks in live animation. Certainly, there are many majestic, beautiful, awe inspiring remembrances that tug at our hearts. But they do not in any fashion grant the same bliss as when we stand there gawking at Mother Nature's vibrancy.

Works of God
"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things." ~ Ecclesiastes 11:5
Sometimes, I am a "know it all" and that really smacks my beliefs. Do you, sometimes, fall short of your goals?

Fur Ball
I had not really noticed until +Shelly Gunderson mentioned it yesterday, and now it is driving me crazy (not a long trip, I know), that G+ is really messing up our streams! If I have not responded to your post, there is a darn good chance that I did not see it. Right now I am flicking back and forth between circles to see hopefully everyone's post. +Google+ Help Why can't we just see all of the posts on our "All" circle/stream?

Good Woman
Her name is Pauline, don't know his name. Pauline use to work at the local 7/11 and was a rancher's wife. The rancher died. That was a few of years ago. It would appear that Pauline has a new Beau. I was at the old school for a show, getting ready to head out and here came Pauline and the mister. We did the cordials when out if the blue, the feller asked to have his picture taken. When I said sure, he grabbed Pauline in the bear hug you see.

Family
That is what we really celebrate today on Mother's Day, isn't?
Meet Ma, me, Sis, and Pa.
From our family to yours, Happy Mother's Day!
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ~Proverbs

A 9 minute video of a guy riding a motorcycle from Texas to Argentina and back. Sounds boring. But if you start watching it, I bet that you will finish watching if no other reason than the great dance moves. Oh yeah, there are some wrecks.

There is a vastness out there.
Where the question,
“What's over there?”,
never get's answered.
Oh, I beg for the time,
that I might answer that question.
Have a great weekend.

Big Moon, Church
This was my Fathers' church, Saint John's Lutheran, Vernon CO. Not much left in Vernon anymore. Just the Post Office, that also serves as a general store and a volunteer fire department. Oh, and few empty buildings of which this is one.
Hope you enjoy the paintography compilation.

Wagon, Revisited
Last week, at least I think it was last week, I found and old horse (maybe ox) drawn wagon out in a pasture. The native grasses had grown tall and covered most of what was left of it. It made me wonder how it came to be there? And that leads me to kind of a melancholy feeling this morning. You could call that feeling 'Blue'. It is indeed a Blue Monday.
It took me a long time to get to "Blue Monday" so ya better appreciate the story!

Cinco de Mayo
May 5th
Listening to the regional TV news and I always thought that Cinco de Mayo was a mexican national holiday. But it ain't, though it does have US significance. Here is what Wikipedia (http://goo.gl/SbuD) has to say about it;
Historian Justo Sierra has written in his Political Evolution of the Mexican People, that had Mexico not defeated the French in Puebla on May 5, 1862, France would have gone to the aid of the South in the U.S. Civil War and the United States' destiny could have been very different. Ignacio Gonzalez wrote, "Some scholars, including José Antonio Burciaga, believe that had the French defeated México at Puebla, France would have aided the South in the American Civil War in order to free Southern ports of the Union Blockade. During this time, Confederate General Robert E. Lee was enjoying success, and French intervention could have ha... more »

Rain Snow Gauge
I trust you had a good May Day? We did. We got some moisture. Just last week, I put out the rain gauge, but Mother Nature decided that winter had a little more ummph in her. I know that some of you got a lot more snow, lucky dog.
BTW, that is rabbit tracks in the snow.
