Most of the world's thoughts (and prayers if you're so inclined) are with the survivors, friends and family of those affected in Oklahoma. 

I came across this video of a woman that found her dog in the middle of a tv interview. It brought a tear or five to my eye. She found her best friend alive.

Blogtastical 5 weeks on...

Here's some of our photos from the last week.

Week 5 has given us both the cold, so we've both been a bit grizzly.

It's been lovely to get out of the house to go shopping. And we've been getting out with them pram and dog through the days (rain, hail and sunshine!)

He's finally fitting into newborn clothes this week! Huzzah! So lots more clothes fit him (cue the baby-fashion show!)

He's squeaking more and making more noises.. But I can't wait till he starts smiling... I know he'll do it in his own time, but still ^_^

Hello Google+... have you done something with your hair?

Well, you've obviously seen the new update to the google+ template if you're sitting on a desktop... It incorporates the look of the mobile apps (at least of my experience of the iPhone app) having all the sidemenu on a dropdown at Home.

Browsing profiles is a completely new experience... Scrolling down folds down the cover photo down to a small bar. When the small bar's activated, scroll one mouse wheel bit up and a search bar section with access to your account/settings and a share button pops down. I love it... Very intuitive.

By having the two column design on the profiles, I can take more information in at a glance... So posts that have videos and pictures really pop and seem to take preference in my opinion.

*A belated Mother's Day posting. *

The UK's Mother's Day was back in March, but since the UK one and the US one... A lot's obviously happened to me (well, obvious if you've been reading my posts)

I honestly don't know how I would have coped after the last few weeks without the amazing support of my mum. Of which the experiences of having a newborn have boosted my appreciation of my mum a million-fold. 

Also with the extra time and effort she put into helping me when I was ill and pregnant... She's just been simply incredible. A super-mum. I can only watch, thank and hope that I'm able to be half the mum you are for Xander. 

Mum...I, Kai and Xander love you very much. Xx Even though its not Mother's Day here... We still want you to have a great day!

So week 3 of our complete wee family... Sleep deprived as it may be has been brilliant. Xander is amazing. He's actively looking around and putting on weight.

Most of my time is spent dealing with him and the rest of my time is spent sleeping. :S so sorry if I've been a bit quiet lately.

In New York in the US, a group of people pretend to guide people along as they text to make sure they don't trip up or get run over etc.

My favourite part of the video is people's reactions... So funny!

I'm only just catching up with YouTube now after a couple weeks of hiatus...

Check out this video where Man at Arms on the AweMeChannel, they've forged a real-life 8-bit styled diamond sword from Minecraft. 

It looks pretty lethal... but if you watch till the end, you'll get to see him use it on some unsuspecting bottles, keyboards, melons and ice blocks. ^_^

post-bump-age blogness

Well, it's been an exhilarating few weeks... And I know I've been very very quiet on G+... Sorry about that!

For those that didn't know, I had my first son on the 9th of April, Kai-Xander. It's been a bit of a roller coaster, where I had to stay in hospital and little Xander had to stay on a different ward which was pretty gutting.

We're both well now and we're getting to know each other and enjoying our time together.

So far, we've only had a few hangouts... But as soon as we feel up to it, we'll be hanging out soon.

Anyway, I'd better go grab an hour's sleep before the next feed.

What's your top tip for looking after a newborn baby?

Since I'm mega late for #fidofriday ... Here's a wee #dogurday  post...

Shug the dog has settled in quick well with our newborn son Xander. She's very protective of him and watches over him constantly...although now seems content to leave him in our care at night without having to see everything that's going on.

She's happiest when she sits under his crib or sitting next to us on the couch... although I should point out that Xander's never left alone with Shug.

My #blastfromthepast and #throwbackthursday has been sparked by the birth of my son Xander last week.

I've not really been posting while we've been getting ourselves settled since getting home from the hospital.

The photo with me is of my second Christmas. My brother and my dad were holding me up.. Ready for me to blow out the candle on the Christmas cake.

The other photos are just a couple of the wee man. He pretty much looks like his dad... But my chin's there. ^_^

Well, we're still in the hospital, so I've not been able to share quite as much stuff.

But this week has been filled with bouncy baby cuddles while we've been on the neonatal ward.

I finally got proper cuddles from my wee man Xander... Not just feeding.. And wireless! He's not on anything any more... First bath ahoy tonight. We'll just see how he likes to be bathed or not *_^

As soon as I get home, normal posting will resume!

Just a quick update!

+Kai Young and I welcomed our son Kai-Xander Andrew Young to the world yesterday at 2:08pm yesterday!

A new +1 to the family ^_^

At 5lb 5oz, he's a teeny wee man, but he's been adored by the wonderful staff here at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in the post natal and neonatal wards. Hopefully we'll get home in the next few days. It all happened a bit quick to be honest!!

37 Weeks bumped!

I've been fairly quiet today as I've spent time basically nesting... Getting ready to greet our new wee boy into the world. I did a 'bump' photo back at 30 weeks... But here's a photo of me at 37 weeks pregnant, today ^_^

I've had a few cravings, mainly vegetables, but it could be that I just really want to eat fairly healthily. The piccy with the food and fizzy juice are things I've really wanted through a fair chunk of pregnancy... Pickled beetroot, onions and American Cream Soda (although only the one from Barrs) One of the very few fizzy drinks that I drink that doesn't have caffeine in it.

Anyway, I'm rambling! What I wanted to ask was *what were yours/your partners/ mum's/ sisters pregnancy cravings? *

Getting ready for +Game of Thrones, there's a brilliant video from the AweMeChannel on YouTube where they show a propmaster make amazing weapons.

This video shows how he would make Jaime Lannister's sword. It's amazing to watch him grind, forge and shape the parts of the sword and work with steel and molten bronze. Beautiful! Totally worth a wee subscribe ^_^

The G+ Apple app update

Just a quick little post about the spiffy new G+ app for iPhone that's been released today. 

I think that the new design pretty much looks like it really incorporates the G+ on a browser... particularly the new super-large cover photo which for many is still new and shiny ^^ The use of rounded profile piccys in the last big update was pretty much a clue as to where the site was going to go... Perhaps keeping eyes on the mobile designs could let us have a good idea of what's to come to G+ on the browsers.

They've changed the menu screen from being predominantly dark with white text to a white design with black text for the links which I think really fit in with the browser version... Settings is now up the top right hand side with a little cog symbol and you can now control in much more detail the... more »
