With all the surveillance out there...and all the information Facebook, Google, Amazon, and other big websites have on me, I see no reason that the #NSA should not do my Christmas shopping, my online homework, etc. My tax dollars are paying for #PRISM , they should at least provide some return!

Manila, Philippines.

I could not remember this little girls name. But she was very curious of my camera. She requested me to take a photo of her playing the hula hoop. She was so happy to be photographed and kept asking for more photos.. Kuya, photo me, Kuya photo me! I remember her sweet voice.

At the end I hugged her and swing her around like a hula hoop. She was overjoyed. To me she was a little princess. She was so adorable.

Children are employed for their small sizes and cheap salary. They could easily crawl into those small pits behind.

But the condition is really terrible. Hot, smoky, polluted and bad for health.

Logic behind weight loss and weight gain
The simple reason why you lose or gain weight: your body’s ability to adapt. It’s smart - it’s a lot smarter than you think. Your body evolves to suit your daily needs and it assumes the shape you ask of it, though maybe not intentionally. The simple reality of it is: if you let your body think that it’s not required for it to move fast or carry heavy objects every single day it won’t grow muscles or shed the pounds to be able to perform better, easier and with less effort. That’s how it works to put it simply.

So, if someone let’s say tries to lose weight fast and goes on a crush diet it shocks the system so that the moment that someone is off the calorie restrictions his or her body starts to stockpile and stockpile like mad. It’s a simple self-preservation response – you basically just let your body know that the “hardtimes” might return ... more »

It's time to decriminalize nature and legalize food.

A dairy farmer in Wisconsin is facing two and a half years in prison for selling raw milk.

Even the charge is legally false. The "buyers" of the milk were actually part of a "buyer's club" who bought shares in the cows.

But let's be honest: The dairy farmer's crime was offering people an alternative to the massive and politically powerful US dairy industry.

The problem with raw milk production is that it cannot be industrialized. So it's not a product that giant companies can produce at scale. Therefore, they want it to be unsafe and illegal and they press government to make sure that happens.

How dangerous is raw milk? Between 1998 and 2011 there have been two fatalities nationwide. That's being used to justify the jailing of a farmer whosel... more »

The day before yesterday, on my Irish family holiday, my mother and daughter and I visited Fota House, an old estate near Cork. We only had time for the tour of the downstairs (though we did manage a peek into the dining room.) Note the hidden door from the dining room to the servants' corridor, complete with plaster.

The reason for sharing publicly is to correct some of the impressions from Downton Abbey.

First off - there are far too few servants at Downton. The staff at Fota, for a family of four, was about twenty, with another thirty or forty to handle the grounds.

The kitchen must have been terribly hot! There were four different ovens, a giant roasting spit, and three giant charcoal fired burners for pots.

There were separate staircases for the female staff and the male staff, so they wouldn't have occasion to fraternize on the stairs.
