#PLUSdollar  Project +G+ Achievement Unlocked & #PLUSdollar2  Launches!

The Idea
I started this project to see what the POWER of G+ and social could do. The idea was that if everyone that circled you gave you $1, that'd be a big PLUS chunk of change to do some #awesomesauce  in this world.

The 1st campaign launched showed heart and I wasn't sure how it would turn out (it could have been worse & it can still be way better). I am proud to announce that $115 was raised for the initial #PLUSdollar  Project. 

I gave everyone the option to suggest where the funds should go and I would divide the total funds raised based on +1's.

I found a great work around for the chat being screwy due to being combined with hangouts. Open up Gmail, and there it is all normal looking and sensible.

As I found the Google plus' new multi-column view very busy and single column view ridiculously narrow, I made some adjustments with Stylish. With this modification you'll get single column that scales with the window size and always visible left menu. This is more of a "quick fix" and is very sensitive if Google decides to make changes to CSS-classes. But hopefully they'll make a permanent solutions for these problems so that this is not needed.

This requires for you to enable accessibility-setting to have single column on every G+ page.

Currently (with 17.5. midnight update) with following fixes:
- Scaling single column
- Minimalistic Left menu always visible
- New post input form size and location fixed to match the new column width and location
- Community page adjusted to not overflow with the always visible menu

- The ability to adjust the width of the columns be they one, or multiple. 

- The ability to remove things like the 'Community Invites' and 'Event Updates' from the top of the right-hand column.

-The ability to switch between 'auto-refresh' and 'manual-refresh'

-The ability to dock the menu flyout so it isn't a flyout at all but rather buttons like it was previously.

Edit 5/16 9:30PM EST Sigh. Notifications aren't fixed at all only differently broken. Also the photo section has some serious flaws. Thus the number of things google got right with this update drops.

Meanwhile, while It hink they completely screwed up the main stream, they also improved the photo section. At least so far it seems like they did.

It's been a long time since I have bothered looking at my circle settings. I have those I wanted turned up to 100% on those I wanted to see everything from (in my main stream) and left the rest as standard. 

Since some people were complaining that their streams have taken a turn for the worse lately (apparently due to a bug), I decided to check my circle settings out. 

So I clicked on one of my circle streams that I knew I had dialed up to full volume (albeit sans notifications). I see now that somewhere along the line they replaced the slider with a drop down menu and that All isn't an option W T F?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?  

I never view my stream broken down by circle. I only look at my 'home' stream.  This change in functionality is probably why I am missing so much content that I shouldn't be missing.

Oooh, now this shows some promise.

Patreon allows anyone to support (aka: function as a Patron to) working artists (of all kinds) for each piece of work they produce, within your budget.

So now, instead of being limited to retail purchases or PayPal donations, you can serve as a modern version of an Artist's Patron, without having to actually feed them and let them live with you. ;)

(How the system works: You set how much you want to give per piece of finished work, and then a monthly cap for what you can afford, on the chance the artist has a very productive month.)

I really like this system, so far. It means I can support artists that actually are WORKING and are likely to need the support for materials, even i I don't have the wall space for their work, and it also means that all the amazing people who have said they wish they could support my... more »

Arrrgghh my delete key isn't working. It is the only key not working and isn't working on the onscreen version of my keyboard either. can't figure out what is wrong. tried restarting and repairing permissions. checked the settings and all appear normal. Its weird. I would think if it was just the keyboard itself than the onscreen version would work. Grrrrrrrr

Thanks to +Zack Jenkins, the issue has been resolved. It was a pesky Text to Speech setting.
