Wrote up my thoughts on how Google and now Flickr are offering more storage space but not what I really want, a better ability to auto-magically organize my photos and in a transportable fashion.

In a year from now, even if +Project Glass isn't ready, I'm certain we're going to low-cost eyeglass-style cameras that deliver much of the best thing about Glass -- the ability to easily take pictures or video without having to look away from the action yourself. They don't need all the other stuff that Glass offers for that. Case in point -- this ad for the Looxcie camera in my newspaper today. This product clips behind your ear ( http://www.looxcie.com/looxcie-2/ ) but I'm sure we'll see Glass-style devices come.

Google Glass coming into men's restrooms just further erodes what little privacy men have grown up to expect there. Men understand this. Women probably do not. My personal take, inspired by +Nick Bilton's article this week.

This is my favorite of the animated Khans that Google+ made for me. Auto-awesome is like a whole new world.

Seen the Google Chrome ads on TV? Microsoft has released a hard-hitting parody supposedly meant for "internal purposes" but put out on YouTube nonetheless.

Movie versions of the Enterprise compared. But better, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars ships included, too. Nice that BSG is there, because I'm sure JJ Abrams will be running that eventually, too.

As it's about to turn two next month, +Google+ seems readily for its second act, a big push of features it says will be "game changing" to boost adoption. It'll need that given how many still fail to recognize the value the service offers. My look at some of the recent changes as well as the "What Is Google+?" and "Why Should I Be On Google+" challenges the service still faces.

The +Google+ Platform team being animated on the Google+ Platform Team Fireside Chat yesterday. I purposely shot five quick picks figuring Google+ would turn it into an auto-awesome image. It worked! Yahoo may be going after Tumblr. All I can think is that if it happens, I hope it doesn't turn into another GeoCities. Kids, GeoCities was a way to blog when blogging was called "having a home page." It cost Yahoo $3.6 billion (in 1999 dollars), which Yahoo closed 10 years later.

Here's a tip that I shared when it came up at Google I/O, for those with regular Google accounts (Gmail accounts) and Google App accounts. It can be annoying if you're using one for most of your services and when on the other, you get prompted to sign-up for things you don't want. My solution is that you always, always, sign-in first using your "main" account.
For example, I do mail on Google with my Google Apps account. I have regular Google account that I use for Google+. If I sign in to check my mail first , then sign in later using my regular account for Google+, any other service that I need to sign into assumes that my Google Apps account is my "main" account. Sometimes, if I open a new tab for Google+, I've even found it wants me to sign-in again.
Instead, always sign-in with your main account first. For me, most Google services I use are ... more »

Another Google+ auto-awesome photo of +Larry Page at the Google I/O keynote. I just wish my Samsung S4 hadn't washed his face out so much. Just started using it and didn't have time to try and play with manual exposure to fix. That globe in the background was a great setting.

Billy Idol, who was awesome at Google I/O, turned into auto-awesome by the new Google+ Photos feature, auto-magically. I do wish you could manually choose to make these, too.

What's that directly across from Google I/O? An invitation to pit Google against Bing in the "Bing It On" challenge. Might be a coincidence, as the Bing kiosk might normally be there. But it sure made for an interesting contrast.

Google announces support for company logos to appear in search results. But it's not tied to Google+ as with authorship, so it's not really a form of "publishership."
