Izzy is a rescue Chow Chow. She is my kids dog at their mom's. She's very cute and everytime I go to pick them up I hang out on the front steps with her. She really likes me ;-)

I don't know that I have ever shared any of my circles before but this is my main circle of photographers that I follow. It's a very eclectic mix with no particular rhyme or reason other then every member in here has been added because they stood out to me for their photography, their humor, their general kindness or maybe I just thought they were people I would like to get to know. There are all levels and styles of photographers represented. Anyhow, I have other circles with the " high profile " photographers, and specific circles for portrait and ladnscape etc. This is the circle that I go to first for my daily G+ fix.

Hanging on the Back Porch with My Sister
My Sister and I lead entirely different lives. I live in the suburban sprawl of Atlanta and work for a fortune 10 company. My sister owns a horse farm in North Carolina. I love visiting her and just sitting on the porch. One of my creative goals this year is to include more environment in my portraits. This picture conveys much more meaning to me then a tight blurry background head shot. This is my sister exactly how she is on the farm she loves.

Recomendation needed
Is there an active weekly or daily theme G+ community that hands out assignments that you could recommend? I am looking for ideas and motivation in my daily wanderings with my camera. Thanks. I guess I could look through the daily theme sites but I find that I tend to look at the themes after I have already shot something I like. I would rather a scenario where I have an assignment and need to interpret. Thanks.

Limey Bastard
My son is a bit of a reptile freak. He has all kinds of lizards and even a frog that eats rats. Its really not my thing but who am I to get in the way? Today we took a trip over to Repticon. Think Dragon Con for reptile nerds. I saw a lot of people actually doing macro photography. I didn't bring such gear. I was there to take pictures of the people. There were some interesting ones!

Quincy
Not sure if I have ever posted a Cat picture on G+ but since it is #Caturday I figured what the hell. This is Quincy. He is a pain in the ass, but he has been my pain in the ass for 11 years. He represents one of the few things i received from my divorce in 2007 (well besides child support and alimony payments). He meows incessantly (as most Siamese cats do) and he needs to be right up against me 24x7. He is actually a very kind soul and doesn't have a mean bone in his body, tolerating numerous toddlers over the years. He sure is a handsome dude. I was playing with the various settings on a recent purchase that I am still trying to justify ;-)

Are you a Micro 4/3rds user? Here are some thoughts on a recent lens purchase.

This is a good run down of some of the best options for lenses if you are new to micro 4/3 rds. The only change I would make is i would swap the Panasonic 20 for the new Olympus 17mm 1.8. I just traded my 20 for the 17. The image quality is very similar, the 17 is a little bigger with much nicer construction but the focus speed is night and day faster then the 20 on either Panasonic or Olympus bodies.

I stopped after work today to have some coffee outside with my friend James. Life gets so crazy sometimes that I forget to take some time to just connect with others. Of course I had GX1 in my jacket pocket and couldn't resist the repetition behind him and the covered shade which was lighting him so nicely. I had to take a picture.
