In most of the subway stations and on the main drag of Itaewon, the streets have a line of yellow brick. The other day the girls and I were singing this song while Gaius followed the yellow brick subway road. ^_^

When I ask how Sunday School went, or youth group, and I ask if anyone talked to you – it pains me to hear you reply no. It hurts when I see you sitting by yourself during kid’s worship.

I know that being a homeschool family in a foreign country makes it even harder.

Does anyone use Life of Fred? And more importantly - do you notebook alongside it? My kids are in LOVE with LOF and I think doodling while I read to them might help them internalize the concepts even more. Just wondering if anyone had done this.

Instead of buying a big curriculum package that I have to implement (and get the kids excited about, and organize, and more), we choose to follow what our kids are interested in. This may seem "risky" educationally but the fact is that learning happens more naturally and at deeper levels. They pick up "the basics" while they are engrossed and involved. And we save a lot of money doing it.

You know that meme that says “Saying you’re a Christian because you go to church is like saying you’re a mechanic because you stand in a garage”?

Well – trying to prevent rape and lust by dressing modestly is like trying to prevent gluttony by duct-taping your fridge closed. #Christianity   #rape   #modesty

Jay and I are both introverts. But I'm less introverted than him. We neither one are "shy". 12yo is a quiet extrovert. 7yo is very LOUD but very introverted - she might be the most introverted of us all. It's hard to tell what 2 year old is yet.

I guess I will share my current character.  The document was what I came up with on my own - my GM helped me develop her further before we started playing.  Currently I am a Sorcerer 1 that focuses on Elemental Fire (I have a veil that gives me + to damage rolls on spells with fire when activated) and Cleric 2 -because our party really needed a healer - and I can eventually become a Mystic Theurge (correct?)

I was pretty proud because I came up with my own back story. I was a slave in Absalom until a teen when my natural magic abilities became evident and I was picked up by the College of Mysteries.
