Blackberry executives told us that 70,000 apps were released and that will scale up to 100,000 over the coming months. This is still a fraction of what is available on iOS and Android phones. It should be noted that a lot of apps developed won’t be made public or available because they will have been custom built for companies within enterprise level IT infrastructure. They did note that adoption in Enterprise has been incredibly fast for the BB10OS and Z10 device.

The conference is one of the world’s most popular events about technology, entertainment and design (thus, TED). The phenomenon of TED has generated regional conferences such as TEDxVancouver, held here last year. While we caught the event online and weren’t able to attend in person now that the dust has settled a bit we will recap the significant points of the launch as it impacts our readers in Vancouver, B.C. and Canada. Vancouver Gadgets spoke to RIM back in October of 2012 and visited the BB10 Developers conference in August when it came to Vancouver.

What role will physical books play in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? As we all are witnessing, we are moving primarily to a virtual world, no more physical movies and music. Are books next? Of course physical items can still be purchased but streaming is where the demand is moving. And Christmas 2012 will see a further shift into our gadget obsessed culture. As we move forward into 2013 and beyond we’ll continue to see a shift in content distribution.

Samsung released this camera in September with hopes that your digital photo experience would benefit from the integration the Android OS and all the functionality that comes with that. This camera delivers on the companies promises and does so in style. I had to chuckle as one review I read called this a Franken-camera but it’s anything but monstrous or scary.

Personal blogging is about instantly connecting your voice with an audience. The Northern Voice conference has been running since 2005 with this as its focus. The 2013 conference is currently in the planning stages with a June date to be announced shortly.

Out front the device, which reminds me of an iPad flipped on its side, allows you to take photos with a simple tap of a fingertip on the screen. On the Sunday, Vancouver Film School (VFS) opened its doors with sample classes to over 200 aspiring game designers.
