When that happens, it seems like the thing to do is an introductions thread. Let me start by explaining precisely what you've added:
My feed is fairly wide-ranging. While I'm interested in horserace politics, I normally don't have a lot to say about it. You're likely to hear more about policy, which is the majority of what you'll get, plus some science, some economics, some law, some history, and some large block quotes from late 18th-century documents. Ideologically, I'm a pragmatic left-libertarian. If that's sort of the stuff you'd like, this post contains a second circle with more of the same.
I'm also read by a lot of people who disagree with me, some of whom I've included in this small but active circle. Some I disagree with a little bit, and some vituperatively. don't have anyone in my comments whom I'd consider a troll. Two tips: (a) if I do end up with a troll, don't feed him, and (b) if you think someone's not writing something in good faith, practice bad-faith good-faith. When you post, pretend you're responding to the most reasonable interpretation of the post you just read.
