Starbucks Sales Tax ERROR

Yesterday our local Starbucks in Apache Junction AZ strangely started collecting sales tax that was 1 percent LOWER than our normal rate. Customers were noticing their drinks were a few pennies cheaper than yesterday.

We all wondered if the sales tax rate really went down? And why on the 14th of May? We all just took it as fact.

Then today, the prices were back up the the normal rate! I said to the cashier, what happened to the lower sales tax rate? With puzzled looks on their faces, no answer seemed forthcoming.

Is this truly a computer glitch? Anyone else see this?

It's amazing that when Apple decided to switch the direction of the scroll-wheel to be more like a tablet, how it does become more intuitive than the way it has worked for over 20 years. Relearning the operation of scrolling doesn't take that long at all.

I am an introvert, this article explains me to a tee!

However it is funny how the Internet medium has allowed introverts to still communicate, but on their own terms. E-Mail, forums, Twitter and even Facebook, allow the introvert to post their feelings without having to stick around to listen to the replies, until they are ready.

Myself, I prefer to email someone rather than talk on the phone. I'd rather write a blog post than make a speech. Remebering back when I was a DJ at the high-school radio station, I was happy broadcasting one-way, as it didn't require listening back. Good thing it wasn't a talk radio station.

Looking for #DD-WRT or #OpenWRT advice.

I want to use a dual band router (see attached link) and set one band radio in client mode (grab 2.4 ghz wifi network) and the other band radio in AP mode (provide 5ghz 802.11a network). I know there are $150 solutions, Engenius for example, but was trying to see if either DD-WRT or OpenWRT provided such a configuration, as this dual band router seems to have the hardware to do this, but stock firmware doesn't.

So Instagram is now going to use photos taken by its users in advertising, and they may or may not disclose to viewers when the advertising is happening.

I have no idea how this will work, and I'm once again glad that I don't use Instagram... but I know a lot of people who do, and many of those people are celebrities to some degree.

Here's what I'm wondering: if Kaley Cuoco uses Instagram to share a photo of her and Melissa Rauch doing something silly, does that mean that Instagram can take that photo and use it to advertise for something silly without compensating them for what becomes a use of their likeness for commercial purposes? I can see that being a pretty serious shitstorm if it happens.

Automobiles are still more deadly than guns, in actual and relative numbers. Let's talk about banning cars, not guns.

Average Auto Death per year about 30,000 or 10 per 100,000

Yes we're all sorry about todays tragedy, but it's not an excuse to pass more gun laws. People are more likely to kill someone in a car, than with a gun.

Is it just me or is the quality of articles from Forbes, getting lame? It seems that most of the article just gloss over the topic and offer no real data. This is the 3rd or 4th article today I felt was missing the mark.

Bring Your Own Phone plans! But every time you want the next new phone, you are paying full price again. Less the Gazelle trade-in price. It would still pay off in the long run, assuming the consumer will take the time to do the math. I hope this alternative can work here in the US.

I'm sorry to say, that I used to spend this kind of money on early computers. Not this one, but a NorthStar Horizon for $3000, a CRT Terminal for another $1000 and this was only a 2 floppy disk sstem.
