Apocalypse, now.
When you take pictures of lightnings you shoot a lot.
And you also discard a lot, because lightnings are too small or badly centered, or behind the clouds and so on.
But what happens if you decide to discard nothing and blend everything together, instead?
Well, this is the result of 23 minutes of thunderstorm.
The apocalypse.

The shots were taken last night in Pavia, Italy.

Two days ago a terrible accident happened in Genoa, Italy, where a large cargo ship maneuvering in the harbor bumped a control tower, that collapsed on a building, causing 7 victims and two missing persons.

Give me all your money!
Well this is definitely an experiment: it's quite a long time I shoot with Lensbabies, and I always wondered how they would perform as a macro.

I have a Lensbaby Composer and in its "natural" form it has no macro capabilities. But what would happen if you coupled it with some extension tubes? So no better opportunity than +Victor Bezrukov's Lensbaby Week to make a test!

Here's a shot with two tubes attached (Canon 25mm + Canon 12mm).
The lensbaby had the f/2.8 ring mounted.

..and the result is..
Not bad! The Composer is quite a contrasty lens and it helped getting some good details. I didn't expect so much DOF considering it was f/2.8. And the out of focus part of the shot gets a unique effect, something more like a flou effect than a classic bokeh.

In Milan

Here comes the rain
This is for +Victor Bezrukov's one-week project: Lensbaby everyday.

Took this one this morning: went to the river (there's a spring flood!) and after a while it started to rain. The smell of the rain, the smell of the river, the sound of droplets, and all the people rushed away because of the sudden shower.
That was quite a magical, inspiring moment.
Came back home competely soggy.

It's cat time!
