Hello Toronto Photographers! 

We finally have warm weather to accompany us on our photowalks!  Join myself (+Sara Collaton) and +Vincent McMillen on Saturday May 25th for a photowalk on Centre Island.  We will meet at the Ferry Terminal for 1pm and take the 1:30pm Ferry over.

Jim Davis and Sandra Parlow will also be over on the islands doing a photowalk that day so there's a good chance we may run into them.

Google Maps

So I just got the invite to try out the new #googlemaps  and I have to say, it looks spectacular.  I love the full screen interface.  I only hope that my saved maps/my places eventually gets updated to support the new look as well.  

What was the first thing I searched for?   #sushi  in #toronto .  :)

Meet Me Where Warm Meets Cool

Taken exactly a year ago while in #NYC  with +Vincent McMillen.  I'm really enjoying the Film 03 Pack from +VSCO and have been using them a lot in my recent edits.  Hope you don't get bored of them!

Copy and get 20GB free

I'm a big fan of +Dropbox and I've been fortunate enough to receive more than 80GB of free storage over the years.  The downside to a service like Dropbox with users signing up with the 2GB account, is that shared folders (and the files within it) take up part of your 2GB of storage.

Copy is fairly new and I've been using it for over a month, thanks to a referral from +Anthony Schiavino.  Signing up automatically gets you 20GB of free storage.  The bonus?  There's a lot more ways to share.

There are NO size limitations for sharing.  Emails have a limit but now with Copy you can easily send videos, large folders of images and more to clients, friends and family.  

Are you a traveler?  This is a great way to back up files on the road without the need for multiple hard drives.

Lost In The Light

Using my 3 Legged Thing to handle my camera, I lit this with my Aurora Firefly along with my +Rotolight gelled in teal to my left. Edited in #Lightroom  with +VSCO. The background is actually my TV, with a burgundy blanket thrown over top of it.  When you don't have a studio, you have to improvise!

3rd Strand LLC

Last September I was fortunate enough to work with the incredible talented 3rd Strand LLC on their +Forevermark Centre of my Universe campaign.

Last week I found out that their ad featuring my photography can now be found in +WIRED's 20th Anniversary issue, +Men's Health magazine, +Women's Health magazine and +SHAPE Magazine.

Next week I am heading to Indianapolis to work with the team once more on a secret campaign with +Baume & Mercier watches.  I'm so excited for this project and can't wait to share some behind the scenes photos while I'm away.

Choosing to Disconnect

Isn't a matter of time that people will go on vacations to purposely disconnect? We didn't have internet for a week while in Cuba and while the first hour had me itchin' to find out what was going on, it was nice to strictly pay attention to your actual surrounds and the people close to you.

(Little) Man of the House

No longer the baby in the family, +Vincent McMillen and I got to pay a visit to +Michael Borrelli and +Megan Platts yesterday and meet Jack's new baby brother Felix.  

Edited in Lightroom 4 with +VSCO's Fuji FB-100c - - preset before finalizing it with some minor adjustments.

Q: What do you do when two friends slash ex-Apple co-workers ask you for some updated portraits?
A: You kill two birds with one stone and get one to hold your tea while you shoot the other.

Last weekend I headed to the Distillery District with +Benn Banks and +Andrew Barkman so they could have some updated photos for their sites.  Edited the series with +VSCO Film 03 presets along with some minor adjustments afterwards.  It was a beautiful weekend and we witnessed over 4 weddings being photographed in the same area.  Sure beats this miserable ice-rain Toronto is experiencing now!

This past weekend my friend +Andrew Barkman asked if he could get some photos taken and I was happy to break away from the computer in exchange to have the camera in hand.

Here's a quick peek at his set.  I decided to test out my +VSCO when it came to editing this photo along with adding some final adjustments in Lightroom 4.
