The good news is... when you mess up, as I did with David Peterson Harvey a few weeks ago and several others over the years, God will always give you another opportunity to try again and again and again and again and again and again until you learn to do it the right way... I used to judge the Israelites for making an 11 day journey take 40 years but boy have I reaped that judgment back! (and every other judgment I've ever made as well so I really don't recommend that attitude, lol)

We might be staying in the valley after all... put in a bid on a house today... of course it's the only house we've found to fit us and just happens to be the one we were parked in front of when I tried to call my mom when she was dying so I'm really not even sure how I want it to work out :/

I've spent nearly a decade of my life praying, reading, learning, trying... Trying to get to a healthy place of in life and in all of my close relationships. I now am finally at that place. Everyone in my life values and respects me just as much as I value and respect them. There is finally no yelling, no name calling, no controlling, no manipulating, no talking behind each others' backs, no tearing each other down, no lies (at least not on a constant, continual basis... everyone has a slip here or there). Yet, while I am so thankful to finally be free, it seems so bittersweet. I'd always thought that as long as I did my best to follow and trust God that He would heal every single broken relationship and bring restoration (on earth). While He did heal many of them and I am so blessed to have those people that I love dearly in my life, there were several that I had to bury with my mother. So, not... more »

Tomorrow will be a month since my mom passed, it still feels like it happened yesterday, and her birthday is today. Plus, another young girl that I have helping over the years lost her mother, in the same way I lost mine, this morning and turned to me for help :(

Seriously just got stuck in the bathroom with my kids freely roaming the house! The door shut and wouldn't open! I contemplated climbing out the window but it was a little too high up. Thank God Caleb is a good kid who listens to directions!!! (even if it takes him a while to figure them out, lol) Otherwise, I would've been stuck in there til Cory got home. I had to completely take the door handle apart to get out!

When I first started G+, I didn't organize my circles very well... pretty much just through everyone into one big circle... so, today I attempted to fix that and managed to dump the whole thing which was about oh say 3 or 4 thousand people!!! How is it that I can say something simple like, "I like the Kardashians" and people can actually attack me over it. Then, one of them even goes as far as to make public posts talking about how stupid I am and how they like to laugh at me and, because I then address that, I get called even more names? Seriously? This is why I said talking is useless!

Talking is pretty much useless because, whatever you say, 20 people will interpret it differently. People don't hear what is being said, they hear what they think is being said.

I'm so thankful for the Kardashians! I know most of you are thinking, "What?" I know they have some questionable character in some areas; but honestly, they are such a good example of how boundaries and relationships within families should be. They are able to be open and honest with each other and they work through things instead of just pretending like nothing happened and they genuinely love each other and want what is best for each other. And, it's nice to be able to real life example. It's my prayer and goal for my family to always be able to relate in such a healthy way.

I've been constantly growing/changing for the last decade; but, I never realized how much more I could/would change or actually how drastically it would occur. I am not the person I was even just 3 weeks ago. My heart, my mind, my priorities, my perspective is all completely different now and will never go back. And, I honestly can't even recognize the me I was as a child (until I'm placed around someone who still views me as and treats me as that little girl). When I read old journals I felt like I was reading about someone else's life. So, I guess what I'm getting to is... I am seriously debating just going ahead and completely cutting ties with that old little girl and anyone who once knew and still expects me to be her in any way or form.

Bought 4 more books today, they should last me about another 2 days at the rate I'm going. Good news is... if any of my friends loses a loved one, I should have the answers they'll need (well, unless they aren't a believer, in that case I suggest not asking me)... which can basically be summed up by telling you that death is not something that should be feared. Yeah, I know that sounds crazy and unfathomable; but, it's the truth. Paul was not afraid of dying. He honestly could not decided if he preferred to go to Heaven or stay on earth because he knew something about death that is missing in today's society... Oh, and it's funny how something you have been praying against can also be something you have been praying for.

Yesterday I prayed about some things. Then, decided to go to the book store to see if I could find a book on the subject. Within a minute of entering the store I had found and paid for a book. Then, I sat down before bed last night to read a little of it. Then, I kept reading and reading until it was 3 in the morning and I had finished the whole thing! And, it was a normal size book not a short one, I honestly just could not put it down. I found the answer to every question I had! I ♥ God!

It's always so neat when you know you are reaping something... Today, my husband and I took our youngest to the Dairy Queen and a man, who was clearly homeless, rode up on his bike with a pizza. There were some young girls staring at him and making fun of him and my heart just broke for him; but since I was already sad, I didn't bother to reach out to him like I normally would. However, he reached out to me.. As we were sitting there keeping to ourselves, he began to talk to us. I still didn't even really look at him out of fear of crying but Cory politely responded and chatted with him. Then, he got up and came to our table and gave our daughter a piece of his pizza. He said it was his 60th birthday and he was celebrating with pizza and ice cream. I realized how most people would have taken that gesture but I knew how priceless it was. Thoughts that start with "I could've" or "I should've" have been overwhelming me these last few weeks. So, coming across this old blog helped. I realize that, while I applied this in many areas of my life several years ago, there is one area of life that I didn't - the relationship with my mother.

Instead, I, like Job, allowed myself to become responsible for her life and happiness (how would be a whole different blog so I'll spare you for now) to the point where it had become overwhelming fear in my life. I spent all day every day worrying about her or failing her and praying and interceding for her. As a result even allowed myself to become an enabler on her path toward the death she'd been claiming for 20 years and, while it's hard for me to accept that, I have to remind myself that I know that I did all that I could. Cory and I don't keep up with movies much so we don't know what to watch when we actually are able to sit down together and watch one so we will just randomly pick one off of on demand. Last night we chose a movie called, "Everybody's Fine". I must have cried through the whole thing, lol. I have not had a movie effect me like that in a long time... (read the blog;)
