چرچیل آماده ی سفر به هند برای تشکیل دولت هند شرقی است و در این حین خبرنگار ایتالیایی از او می پرسد:
جناب چرچیل شما این همه راه را طی می کنید تا در آن سوی کره ی زمین دولتی را به نفع انگلستان تشکیل دهید،اما این کار را در کشور کنار گوشتان (ایرلند) نمی توانید انجام دهید.چرا؟
چرچیل اندکی فکر می کند و جواب میدهد:برای این کار نیاز به دو پیش نیاز داریم که در ایرلند وجود ندارد.
خبرنگار می پرسد:این دو پیش نیاز کدام اند؟
چرچیل:اکثریت نادان و اقلیت خائن.
