Want to know why I love my school?

Four years ago, that young man shaking the President's hand was a little 8th grader, applying to get into my high school.  He was skinny and quiet, extremely polite, and just so stinking smart.  

At any other high school, he may have been pressured to play sports or do something to fit into a popular crowd, but he didn't have to worry about that because he chose Magnet.  He wanted to change the world, and he did.

He will be successful in anything that he decides to do.  But my favorite things?  Seeing him on the dance floor at a Key Club/Z Club dance, watching him talk to new 8th graders about why he chose Magnet (because he didn't want to have to tuck his shirt in), and listening to his mom worry about whether he will get enough to eat at Harvard, Stanford, or MIT.
