Having hosted my first Hangout tonight I can definitely see some great uses for this. Being able to stream to YouTube was great. Definitely going to continue doing this on a regular basis.

I discovered only at the last minute that only certain people can be in an HOA ( as the cool cats call it) .

Getting down with +FreshBooks today at +Corwin Hiebert 's recommendation. Pretty cool I think, though my accountant is not stoked that there is no Quickbooks integration which does seem a shame.

Has anyone found that it doesn't work when you try and join a Hangout On Air via the G+ iPhone app ??
I click join, and the camera fires up and I just get put in a blank hangout with no other people. Also the Hangout administrator sees no evidence of me joining and and my cam feed doesn't show up on their end.

Yesterday Google announced it was going to close down Google Reader services on July 1st. That's a pain in the ass for someone like me who reads so many sites on a daily basis. I think it's only a matter of time before they kill Feedburner as well so this is kind of a public service announcement..... If your site is using Feedburner I stop that right now! The longer you leave it, the more followers you stand to loose when they finally pull the inevitable plug on Feedburner.

Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park.
Pretty cool spot ! It took me quite a long time to actually find the 'right' salt formation. I wanted to find one that looked like it was extending towards the camera. I shot this with a Canon 5D MK3 on a +Really Right Stuff tvc-24l tripod and I used a 2-stop ND grad filter on my 17-40 lens to hold back the exposure in the sky a little bit. In Lightroom I needed to bump the contrast up a little bit since the sun had set there was very little contrast in the natural light.

I shot it in Austria in the spring time with professional skier Keri Herman. I used a Canon 1d and a 17-40 f4 L lens at 40mm along with an array of remotely triggered strobes.

A new cover today, this time from a mag in the UK. This was lit with an Elinchrom Ranger just to camera right. I did this to add some more contrast and pop to the skiers clothing on an otherwise grey day. Shot with a Canon 1D and a 70-200.
