Dallas

Man, this trip has just been whipping by! I was in Minneapolis like 2 weeks ago, and now in 36 hours, I'll be in Austin, TX! Man oh man. Hopefully not everyones life feels like it's been flying by recently... 

I'm still on that diet, and to be honest, I tried eating out once, and it didn't go over too well. It's hard to find food at restaurants not loaded with salt!! I looked up the nutritional facts... brutal! 

And I was proud of My Bears in the draft. We addressed every concern we had, and even though Mel Kiper doesn't agree with the picks, we took who we wanted and said screw the normal process. Lol. I respect that! 

Muse Masters is coming up, so don't forget to sign up, and I'll be around more now that things will be calming down a bit!! ;)

Monday's ain't all that bad

Watching Basketball and relaxing after an easy day in OKC. Hitting up Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, LA, and then Miami for my big event in Miami in May, so taking it easy before the craziness begins!

Quick Post From Chi-Town

Well, that Louisville-Michigan was definitely an amazing game, and now with the Masters this weekend, and the NBA playoffs starting next week, it's making the time between football seasons a little more bearable. Lol. 

I'm leaving Chicago and heading up to Milwaukee to shoot with a good buddy of mine, and then it's off to Minneapolis. I wanted to show you guys a shoot from yesterday, so right up to date pic, and I think the diet is working out for me. ;)

Selfshot Sunday

So I bet you've been wondering where all my food reviews went. Well, I started this new diet to get myself back in tip top shape, and try to control the "few lbs on, few lbs off" style I was doing. I bought some small appliances to cook for myself on the road, and I've been eating all natural, no sodium, etc. 

I haven't been to a gym in about a month, but I think the diet is definitely starting to work... what do you think?? ;)

Muse Masters 2: Muses In Miami

So, where has Jessi been?!?! I've been under a rock working on a lot of different projects and getting things set up (cool stuff coming), and this has been one of them. 

My last workshop was a big success, and so I decided, like any good movie, it deserved a sequel. So I'm doing it again, for Memorial Day weekend. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome to attend, as I will have some top of the line mentors there to help guide you along, or offer expert tips for the more experienced. 

I definitely hope some of my G+ photographers make it out there. It's going to be one helluva time. ;)

Late Night at the Office

I've been swamped ever since returning from Canada, and I've barely had time to sleep. Lol. Between the usual work, planning my next workshop, coordinating a few different months of work, and then squeezing in time to work on my italian (duolingo.com rocks, but damn if you don't do it everyday, they drop the book on ya!), it's been hectic for yours truly! 

Here's a shot from behind the scenes here at the studio! (Yup, still working!) I'll be heading back to the hotel soon and getting some rest before call time tomorrow. Update coming soon on why I will not be driving back to Canada ever again, the next workshop, and how bad my bracket turned out (I think I'm in the 40 percentile on espn tourney challenge lol)

Toronto

So tomorrow is my last full day in the great cold north, and then Monday it's back to the good ol' USA... 

It's been a fun trip, and a very busy one. I'll tell you guys more about it once I get back to the states... (trust me on this one. ;) )  

Oh, and I know I didn't post my bracket this year, but thank god for that, because I am getting beaten like a mule right now. I knew there would be some upsets... but a 15 beating a 2?? Great Job Florida Gulf Coast!! My neighbors across Alligator Alley!

Montreal

Yeah, it's March, and spring is SUPPOSED to be rolling in everywhere. In my hometown of Miami, I'm pretty sure people are already hitting beaches... Me?? I'm in Montreal, preparing for 10-18 inches of snow.. Lol. Craziness, right? 

I've been here for two days, and I'll be here two more before heading over to Toronto. I like Montreal, but I think it's definitely an acquired taste with all the different laws and things I'm not used to. But I'm working on it, and getting there. 

Lately, I've been on a learning kick, so hence the few days without posting, but I've been busting my ass on this free language site, duolingo.com learning Italian. It's an awesome site for anyone trying to learn a language man. It makes it like a game! Loving it so far! (Nope, didn't get paid for that, but cool sites should be shared...E... more »

The calm AFTER the storm

So, this has been a crazy few days, weatherly speaking. It snowed for pretty much 2 days straight, and then, today, it's 50 degrees and melts almost all 12 inches of snow we got!! NE, you have some wild mood swings in your weather come spring time man. 

I'm gonna be heading up to Montreal in a week to see the great white north and enjoy some good food, and then it's on to Ottawa, Toronto, and Detroit. Then things really pick up after that. So I'm enjoy the time off, exploring the interwebs to find if theirs any networks I don't yet know about, and doing the usual stuff. 

I know... I'm a boring vacationer, but even when I'm on vacation, I still never stop working! Lol

FOOD PORN

So, sometimes, when a place does well by you, it leaves you wondering if you just had a good cook, or just a dish they do well, etc... so sometimes, I go back to my favorite places and order something different to see how it measures up to my initial response. .... My first reaction of how awesome this place was was spot on!!

I will admit when I saw "Stuffed French Toast" on the menu, I thought it was going to be french toast "stuffed"... common sense right? Well to be honest I didn't care how this came out looking!!!! It tasted so good, stuffed, not stuffed, thrown on top, anything... it would've been good.

Late Night Food Porn

So I'm in Rhode Island, and after a recent spurt of work where I haven't really had a day off since January, I decided I would take a week off and relax in the NE... Which means, I have time to focus on you guys!! So, my first act in my week off... FOOD!!! 

I made a stop at a tiny, hole-in-the-wall local diner here in Providence: JP Spoonems. Let me tell you something. It has about 5-6 tables, a tiny 8 person U shaped bar in the middle, and the kitchen. That's about it. The waitress is an older lady who loves working there, and the cook is the owner. Yeah... I knew this would be good...

I ordered the omelette with mushrooms and spinach with a side of home fries, wheat toast, and a pumpkin pancake (not pictured...).

Boston

Long, long day today. Woke up in Rhode Island around 8am, drove to Bedford, MA for a shoot, then up to Boston to a bigger shoot, now I'm checked in, got some work done, and now I just finished up in the gym. Man oh man I'm beat! I'm showering up and hitting the bed.

Rhode Island

    Well, I've reached Rhode Island after a long day of shooting in Connecticut and I'm bushed. Tomorrow, I have a special event going on for you guys, if you haven't forgotten! I'm being body painted by G+'s very own favorite bodypainter, +Paul Roustan, and it should be pretty Epic! We're going to be doing a hangout starting around 11am EST. Hope to see all of you guys there! 

As for me, That crazy artist wants to start at 9, and I'm 30 minutes away from him, so I'm getting some work done and getting to sleep! Lol.

Valentine's Day Food Porn

I figured all you sexy ladies would be feasting on your chocolates tonight and guys would be full from their dinners out, so I thought a slightly healthier version of Food Porn would be called for today.. Lol. 

So I'm in Washington D.C. today, and before my shoot this evening (Yup, I don't get holidays off.... ever.) I decided to stop off at a new restaurant out by Dulles Airport called V, (I mean, it's valentines day, seemed kind of appropriate...), or V Virginia Eatery and Brewhouse. Yeah, I like "V" better too. Lol. 

They had a coupon on yelp for 10 bucks off, and they're relatively new, so why not. I started with an order of Kansas City Potato Skins (Skins, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, cheese, bacon, and green onions), and followed that with a Chicken Caprese Sandwich (Chicken, lettuce, tomato, Basil Pesto,T... more »

Burgerworks

So I finally hit a place worth sharing... It's this little burger joint near Richmond, VA, called Burgerworks. It's kind of like a slightly more upgraded five guys, except the burgers are better, the fries hold pace, and the service is hands down some of the best there is. 

They have preset options you can order, but much like "The Counter" or other new age burger havens, the main draw is the build your own options. 1/3lb, 1/2lb, or 2/3lb are all available, because they make the patties in house. They also offer Turkey burgers (pictured below, the healthy looking one) as well as Bison and veggie. 

Me and a guest went here, and I enjoyed a turkey burger, because I honestly haven't found a better one yet. They got a bacon cheese burger and we split the fries (I can't see fries without wanting one. I'm an addict.)

Asheville

    You know, I have to be honest here. Sometimes, in my travels when I visit places, some end up surprising me. I love certain places like Atlanta (really coming up), Dallas, LA, NYC, you know, the usual suspects where anyone can find something to love... But in the past few days, one of the places to really impress me was Tennessee. Yeah, you get some crazy rednecks, and I hear the government there is one of the craziest in the country, but the true, down-home southern hospitality is hard to beat, and some of the areas really are beautiful! 

     I needed some new sunglasses as I lost my Oakleys in Vegas at my Muse Masters Workshop (It was vegas.... I was drunk). So on my way to Asheville, NC (where I am now), I stopped at an outlet mall near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (down where Dollywood is). It was a really nice area actually. Superbowl Breakdown

Well, an amazing season of Football has come to an end, and we are left with one last game until September again. The story lines are all there, the drama is high, and here is my breakdown of the game, and my prediction:

Defense - These are arguably the two best defenses in the game right now (aside from my Bears, of course) The Ravens are playing off the emotion of their retiring leader in Ray Lewis, which everyone knows, but a lesser known fact is that their defense didn’t play a full healthy game until the season ended. Since then, they’ve be playing very strong. But if there’s a team they fall second to, it’s the 49ers. Lead by Patrick Willis and NFL sack leader Aldon Smith, the 49ers won a third of their regular season games by holding their opponents to under 7 points.

Nashville

Well, the trip is going fast these past few days, but it's about to slow down so I can spend more time on here. I was Atlanta two nights ago, Chattanooga last night, and Nashville tonight. It's been such a quick bing-bang-boom that I woke up this morning and couldn't remember what city I was in. It really did take me a minute. 

Tomorrow I'm going to be around most of the day, so I'll be posting throughout the pregame and will have a post up to hang out with during the game for those plussers looking to watch the game as a group. Don't think the hotel wi-fi will be good enough for a hangout, but I'll see.

Atlanta 

    So, I'm getting all setup for tomorrow because apparently I'm going to be visiting where part of the Hunger Games was filmed and shooting there. Should be pretty cool! 

   Apparently we're going to be getting bad weather here, so it looks like I'll be running around in the elements. Shouldn't be anything too bad though. BUT more important question:

WHAT'S EVERYONE DOING FOR THE SUPERBOWL?!?! 

I'm debating if we should do something here or not... I think it would be cool, but also don't want to be interrupting the big game on everyone. Thoughts??

Tampa/Jacksonville/Atlanta

So, yesterday, I put Miami in the rearview and took Alligator Alley over to Naples, had a shoot until 10pm, and then hiked it up to Tampa for the night. Woke up this morning and headed to Jacksonville, where I'm writing from now, and tomorrow, I wake up, and head to the intersection of BumFuck and Guam to see some Family in Georgia before heading forth to Atlanta tomorrow night! 

Life on the road isn't as crazy as it may seem to the normal homeowners and renters out there. I mean, I never clean my room and move every few days, but it also teaches you about what you actually need and don't need, since you need to make that decision when you have limited space, and you have to consider moving every few days. I think it's definitely prepared me for a more minimalist life once I settle down. I'll get a place with a nice kitchen, a... more »

Miami

So I won't lie... I've just been relaxing here in Miami, getting things set up for my 2013 schedule, and just relaxing after my crazy week in LA. I've got a few more days, and then it's time to take this show back on the road! I'm gonna give the Sequoia's legs a good stretch with a ride to Tampa, and then it's off to ATL followed by Tennessee and North Carolina. 

As for the Har-Bowl coming up, I was happy to see them both make it, and it should be a good game, even though it doesn't have the star power we're used to. I mean, do you understand this is the first time in almost a decade that the QB representing the AFC wasn't named Brady, Manning, or Roethlisberger?? Seriously! Not since the Raiders in 2003 has it happened!

Home Sweet Home

And then... it was over. My crazy LA trip was amazing! I got to meet a ton of awesome new people, and really had a blast. Working 70 hours in 7 days was rough, especially coming off pneumonia, but I had to make up for lost time! I'm finally back in Miami for the next week before hitting the road again (yup, almost time to take the show back on the road) and I'll be heading North into the blistering cold! 

I landed at 6am EST, and have been going ever since, so I think theres a mattress somewhere calling my name this evening! I've got the Heat game on, and callin' it a night! 

Definitely missed you guys the past few days, but hopefully once the sets all drop, it'll all be worth it!!

48 hours in 4 days

Man, what a run that was!! I worked 48 hours in 4 days! Tomorrow I only have 6 hours of work, so it'll be a little easier. This has been an awesome week, but definitely a tiring one! I'm in Los Angeles still, and will be here until Tuesday when I head back to Miami to get things ready to hit the road again! 

Wish I had more for ya, but I'm beat! I got wore out today! Lol.
